What are you playing now?

Street Fighter 3 Third Strike (PS2) and (XBX) This game is always in my rotation. I play it daily. While the Xbox version looks and sounds better on my new Sony HDTV, I find I go back to the PS2 version because it feels better and I just play better on it. Probably a controller issue.

Resident Evil 4 (GCN) Been playing Mercenaries a lot lately. Great game, can't wait to pick it up for PS2 and see the new stuff

Ninja Gaiden (XBX) Been replaying it. I suck now - when I got this game I was a Master Ninja, but lately I've been struggling. Out of practice I guess.

Killer 7 (PS2) This game is pretty cool. I've rented it, I think I'll pick it up when the price drops.

Metal Slug 3 (XBX) Like Third Strike, this game is always in my rotation. Just fantastic.

Metal Slug 4 and 5 (PS2) Not as good as MS3, but with perhaps better music, I'm playing MS5 a lot. MS4 is kind of dull.

Castlevania SOTN (PS1) Just started replaying. Looks surprisingly nice running on my PS2 with smooth textures on on my new HDTV. Great game, wonderful soundtrack, wish Konami would make a real console 2D update to this series.

Street Fighter Collection 2 (PS1) Playing SF2 Hyper Fighting a bit recently. Hyper Anniversary Edition is trash, so I stick with the real Hyper Fighting. Can't wait for the new Capcom Arcade Collection.

Max Payne Kung-Fu v. 3.0
Sounds cheesy as sin, and it definitely is in some ways, but its one of the greatest mods released. Wish there was a Max Payne 2 edition.
Yes. It's so incredibly awesome and worked out. Some moves are just mind-blowing and I think it's great some dude created it all. And if I were you, I wouldn't give Morrowind another chance... so boring (imo).

The battle system is great, but WTF happened with the scenario design? Even the Peach segments took a hit compared to Paper Mario 1. I thought it could only improve after Ch. 3, but then it just...doesn't.

Fire Emblem (chapter 22)
Metroid Zero Mission (just started)
Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance (half-way though)

Conflict Desert Storm II (3 player splitscreen but we don't play it all that much)
TimeSplitters 3 (on some Russian submarine)

Paper Mario (the first one, I enjoy it way more than TTYD)

I agree. Great game but some of the scenarios really have you asking "WTF?" Finding the letter "P" to spell Doopliss' name? :lol Still, a great game and on that note, Chapter 4 is one of my favorite chapters in the game.

I'm currently on the last level of Durlag's Tower.

I'm still pretty early in this one. I've only completed the novice level of each of the cups.
Edit: I just finished the standard level Ruby Cup, and Chapter 1 on normal for Story Mode.

I'm just finishing up 100% on each level and completing all the time trials. Some levels are very challenging!

Just starting this one as well.

Stronghold Crusader (das ist mal deutsche Qualitätsware)
Metroid Prime 2
Resident Evil 4 (completing)
Advance Wars (still 100s of fields to buy)

Man, you guys play lots of games at once. I've been having a hard time getting back into games, I have a HUGE backlog. Any tips on how I should proceed? I have an Xbox/PS2/GC, as well as DS, SNES, and Genney. Shouls I just pick 1 game for each system and just rotate whenever I get bored with one, or in intervals like 30 minutes, etc.?

I've got a huge backlog as well. Currently hacking away at it. My advice to you would be to pick 1 game and play it. Play it until you finish it or until your satisfied with it. Whichever one fits you better. I prefer to finish games so I would keep playing it until I was done. Anyway, if you dedicate yourself to one game, you can allocate all your play time to that and finish it sooner. Then, move on to another game. That's been working for me pretty well.

That's what I do. Either that, or force myself to play one game non-stop for several hours.

Yeah I was thinking about doing that to, I've been playing SMT:DDD and I've just started but I keep getting OWNED. I've taken some advice here so now I might have more fun with it. But should I make an exception with RPGs given how long they are?

Most RPGs anymore take...far too fucking long to to pick up after the opening sequence. If I don't play long enough to get out of 1st gear, regardless how long it takes, I tend to not go back to it.

Don't really like this game, putting me to sleep.

235675.jpg

bought this 2 days ago and I'm not feeling it AT ALL. uninspired music, lame story, and forgetable characters (complete with crappy dialogue)

ugh, I'll see if I can press on.

Pretty good.

I'm really liking this game. Just beat
Prism
- an excellent and challenging RPG fight. Even though you have lots of chances to make potions and replenish your life, and the weapons upgrading doesn't seem too necessary, it's still a really fun game. I love the graphic style and the simple, but still challenging battle system - it feels very much like a quality RPG from days past.

espgaluda_front.jpg

It's everything I hoped it would be. Absoultely insane bullet porn... I am hardly in the realm of 1ccing it... I don't know how its mortally possible to :P But it's still a fantastic game.

mushihim.jpg

Not a fan of this as much as ESPGaluda, but the graphics are lovely and the different modes are very fun to try. The original mode reminds me very much of DoDonPachi and that's a good thing.

U-044-S-05760-A.jpg

Playing this 2 player with my best friend, cuz we both have no lives :P Playing through again to get 96 stars - We're most of the way there. Then afterwards we're gonna tackle Super Metroid and Zelda 1, since he hasn't beaten either of them. Then finally onto Seiken 3, which I've never beat in English :P

I had to give up on Advent Rising-the frame rate really gets awful as you get deeper into the game, such a shame because I was enjoying it alot too. Its nuts-you've got close to 10 aliens on your ass in these huge areas and the game chugs really really low,20 minutes of playing these areas and my mind becomes toast.

Anyway I'm going to return my used copy, see if they have DarkWatch in. If not I'll probably throw on Outrun2 later tonight and play on Live,or try to finish up the rest of Serious Sam.

I think this might be the best RPG on PS2. I am just addicted to this right now, 9 hours in; finished Chris's Chapter 2, Hugo's Chapter 1 and Geddeos's Chapter one. The main plot is awesome, the characters are very likable, the music is good and the graphics style is also good. Should have started it in April, could have finished it before college starts.

Another cool RPG. Good story, very open, nice graphics. I am almost done the Seattle chapter. Having trouble locating health items though, otherwise it's very good.

Just enjoying these two great games right now.

RPG's are a different case, you're right. It depends on you. I saw the problem you were having with DDS and the advice given to you should help you get into it better. It really is a great game and once you find out how to get the upper hand, you won't be able to stop playing. Anyway, with an RPG, since they are so long, it will take a lot more dedication to get through when using the play style that I mentioned. You can either just dedicate all your time to the RPG, no matter how long it is and just keep finishing it, but this may not always be the way to go. Especially if you're playing an RPG that could run you 60+ hours. A better thing to do would be to play the RPG and one other game at the same time. The other game could be something else in your backlog but considerably shorter, or a game that you can't finish like a puzzle game. That way when you're getting burned out on the RPG, you can just switch over to the other game. It's all about maximizing your time so you get the most enjoyment out of the games, but are still able to work on your backlog efficiently. I swear, I am never going to let my backlog get as bad as it now.

Going to try and beat Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner before September and hopefully get a chance to start and finish Wind Waker as well (need to start playing/finishing my collection :p).

Im playing Sphinx and the cursed Mummy, which is enjoyable, but not perfect.

Also the Halo Demo for PC, which is really good (and features the best multiplayer level in the whole game - Blood Gulch)

Too late, hah. I started a new character and everything. It's the same as any MMORPG, to me. Hell, any RPG, for that matter. I'm in love with the atmosphere and the concept of the game, but it always requires effort to play. It'll sit around on the HD for some time, I'm sure.

-Street Fighter Anniversary Collection (Xbox)
-Vampire Collection (PS2)
-Rumble Roses (PS2)
-The King of Fighters Neowave (PS2)
-The Rumblefish (PS2)
-Tenchu Shinobi Taizen (PSP)
-Bloodrayne 2 (PC)

Soon:

Jump Superstars, Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!, Meteos, and maybe one or two other DS games once I buy a system next week. What I'm REALLY waiting for is Castlevania DoS...only two weeks to go! :D

Just started playing Shadow Hearts 3. It's my 5th import RPG (and hopefully the 3rd one I actually finish).

I also have Genji to play, but I've yet to unwrap it. I also try to play Goemon 1+2 on the GBA from time to time.

I always try to play only one game at a time. However sometimes you hit a point where its harder than fuck and no matter how hard you try, you can't get past it. So you give up for a while to another game and come back to it. Or if there's a lot of games, you don't go back to it.

Your backlog will grow in time but sometime you'll be out of money or there's nothing good and you catch up with it.

what do you think? I want to import this, jss and Ouendan (sp?).

Did you like Donkey Konga? This game is much better, the songs are much better, it's much more fun. But I believe Ouendan could be better (that's what I heard). JSS also could be good. I also had chosen between those 3 games, but four weeks ago only Band Bros. was out and I wanted to have a new game for my holidays.

WoW, WoW, and more WoW. A little break playing Guild Wars for a few months completely renewed my interest in WoW again. My Xbox should get some loving when that new Hulk game comes out.

Right now just this. I feel sorry for everybody skipping this game without knowhing jack shit about it.
