• Hey Guest. Check out your NeoGAF Wrapped 2025 results here!

What are you playing?

Dynasty Warriors 4 Empires. I just love luring enemy generals into attacking one of my strongholds, then quickly maneuvering to capture one of their chokepoint strongholds, stranding them deep in my territory so they're easily captured. :D Got a historical mode game going with Shu where I've already got the Shadow Harness and just about everyone has fully developed the item production in their provinces. I think I've got a good shot at winning with every item.

Cube: Resident Evil 4 picked this gem up yesterday. This weekend there will be 4 player Mario Kart: DD, Wario Ware, and some Soul Calibur 2 goin down.

Xbox: A new lightside playthrough on KOTOR I need to get back to. Halo 2 needs to be finished, but that is doubtful unless I do it co-op.

GBA: S-ranks on Advance Wars 2.

DS: A few minigames of Mario 64 DS every night before bed.

GameCube:
Resident Evil 4: Sweet game, nothing compares to it this gen. If you don't play this game, you suck!

PS2:
Dragon Quest VIII: Cool RPG, but I don't understand what's going on due to the Japanese.

Street Fighter Anniversary Collection: I like Street Fighter III.

PS2:

Gran Turismo 4
Karaoke Revolution J-Pop Best Vol. 1-3, 5
Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition

i have such a huge backlog of games, it's hellishly frustrating :(
i'm currently working on:
Xbox:
Fable

GCN:
Zelda: Wind Waker (picked it up on release, played it some, and now have picked it back up after a whole year).
RE 4 (started yesterday)

doesn't seem like much, but damn, these games won't end.

I actually just finnished Super Mario Sunshine, and I've had it since the Japanese launch. :lol Resident Evil 4 is rocking the house. Mario 64 DS and Final Fantasy II keep my DS warm at night.

Theoretically I'm taking breaks from SMT:Nocturne to play a bit of Burnout 3 or Gradius V here and there, but that's pretty theoretical. I'm about 3/4 of the way through Nocturne, so hopefully I'll be able to acknowledge the existence of my other games before too much longer. At some point I'll get back to San Andreas, but I dunno exactly when that might be.

HL2 for the 3rd time. I'm determined to find out what makes this game so great. On the first 2 run throughs I just come to the opinion that its a longer than it should be linear FPS thats bulked out with linear transport sections all attached to really ordinary combat sections which arn't a patch on Halo2. The only part of the game I think I've got is the Gravity Gun and the neat things you can do with it. Say all that it does look spectacular.

PS2
Star Ocean 3 - This has been taking over most of my time. Over 40 hours in, just hit some lava cave or something, and am a bit underpowered. Plus I lost some guys to the ultra cheap freezing one hit deaths. Might trek back to a town to revive them and maybe invest some time in the inventing, to see if I can invent some mega anti bad status item.

Games on the backlog include
- GTASA (was in the middle of finishing off the races, then continue with the Las Venturas mission.
- Burnout3 - finished Crash mode, got about 12 or so races left to do, but need gold in them. To be honest I'm not sure I'll ever finish it off though. Good times were had though.

Xbox
RSC2 - Only a few events into the Pro tour. I need to rip some new stuff onto my soundtrack though. Is there anyway to get it to randomly select the songs?

Kingdoms Under Fire - Only about 7 or 8 missions into the easy guys campaign and I'm struggling. It's some level where you have to sneak around a forest not getting caught and sending scouts. I'm just not that big on the strategy section controls, they feel way too fiddly for me.

I still have Halo2 to finish, which I haven't touched in a while. I'm on the level where Master Chief storms the Covenant city. Got to this bit with 2 Hunters, tried to grenade them, mistimed it so it hit a box and blew myself up instead.

GC
Nothing at the moment, I've put Paper Mario and Pikmin2 on the backburner for now.

PC
FFXI - only popped on for a couple of hours after taking a month off to try clear some of my games. Gonna head on again a lot more now.

I'm still only on my first playthrough of HL2, and I also want to try get into R:TW, but that might need to wait until the summer.

As always.

GC - Resident Evil 4.

resident-evil-4-20041025115632399.jpg

PS2 - a bit of Katamari Damacy.

katamari-damacy-20040719045559298.jpg

After RE4 I'll start Final Fantasy Chronicles (FF IV and Chrono Trigger).

201252.jpg

Or maybe replay Majora's Mask.

m-zeldamm_n64_game-jpg.jpg

Resident Evil 4 - Up to chapter 4-1 I think.
Ninja Gaiden - Near the end...really hate those transparent blood sucking fish. :(

System Shock 2, Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, Midway Arcade Treasures 2, Super Smash Brothers. Melee, and Skies of Arcaida: Legends.

-Finished Minish Cap most recently. Meh, I might make a topic about it soon.

-RE4. Playing exclusively with a buddy of mine, so progress is slow as we arrange schedules to pick away at it.

-MGS3. Haven't touched it for a couple weeks, but I plan to get back into it before the month closes at least.

-WoW: Reached lvl 40, but have taken an extended hiatus.

-Mercenaries. Very cool game, my disk is faulty though and I need to exchange it.

GBA:
Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories -- Interesting little game, fairly easy and quick so far, but I'm enjoying it.

Xbox:
Metal Slug 3 -- Bought this primarily to play with my girlfriend who loves 2D run and gun shooters, loads of fun.

PS2- Nothing at the moment, but have Samurai Warriors XL and Dynasty Warriors 4 Empires to play. About to try out the From Software DW "rip off" game too. Imported Bloody Roar 4 last week; it has much better voices than the U.S. version, but unfortunately still has the slowdown with Reiji.

PSP- Ridge Racers, Shin Sangoku Musou

Xbox- Just started Mercenaries. Also some Halo 2. I tried playing Mechassault 2 with a friend of mine; just not feeling it....might sell it off.

GC
- Resident Evil 4. Still have Naruto 3 to play.

GBA- Need to start Zelda Minish Cap.

PC- Nothing. Wondering why the hell I even bought Half-Life 2 now.

Resident Evil 4
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
Samurai Warriors
FFXI
Arc The Lad: Resurrection of the Machine God
Yugioh

Probably gonna start either Suikoden 4, Front Mission 4, or Phantom Brave soon.

Currently playing:

WoW: This game is too addictive! I am working night shifts for the next two weeks and need to stay at the workplace because there is no transportation to my place during the night. We got some extra PCs with WoW on it so I'm questing away with my Lv 28 Tauren Warrior.

RE4: I was playing this earlier this week but now that I need to stay at the job, my GCN is left alone at the house and when I come back, I must go to sleep :(

DS: LoZ: Minish Cap: I must admit that it's a cool game although I am a little tired of the same gameplay...

GC : Paper Mario (incredible game IMO, up to chapter 3 now)
PC : CS:S (addiction), finishing up KOTOR but it took a dive when Paper Mario came in.

That's it.

PS2: Metal Gear Solid 3. Progressing very slowly - played nearly 14 hrs and only cleared the Labratory section. ;)

GC: Resident Evil4 - Right now it's on hold after playing first 20 min - because I do not wish to break my concentration on MGS3.

Xbox: Halo2 - same as RE4 - I also found out that I have HUD cut-off problem, so I will have to join Xbox Live to get the fix. Will have to join Live right before I really start to play.

GBA: Astroboy. Finished normal mode, and right now re-finishing it. Currently at last boss in 8-4.

It's the Wonderswan Arc The Lad game. It's not too shabby for a handheld Folken.

I also intend on picking up Radiata stories and possibly playing Dragon Quest 8 soon =O.

Too many games!!!

Resident Evil 4, Baten Kaitos are my main focus.

Still have to finish:
MP 2 Echoes, Paper Mario, POP 2, and Pikmin 2 (just payed the debt).
have unopened LOTR 3rd age & MegaMan Command Mission and Minish Cap.

Still have to buy:
Viewtiful Joe 2, Alien Hominid

Will get on release date:
Starfox, WarioWare Touched!, Donkey Kong JB & Yoshi Touch & Go!

Just with this I have gaming material for at least 5 months. :/

also have to complete mario 64 DS and will do that on my plane trip to USA on february.

Paper Mario 2 and Mother 2 at the moment.
Gaming bliss.

I'm playing Naruto 3. It was fun until I started getting 50,000+ point characters to unlock. Now it feels like a chore. I just play survival mode over and over again. I still have Itachi (100k) and Sarutobi (75k) to unlock.

No really... oh well...

Still playing Gladius on the Xbox
sim-gladius-0013.jpg

I chose Valens' quest first as the girl's was marked "Easy" or somesuch, and I figured I'd be better served by a bigger challenge after playing years of strat-RPGs. Unfortunately, while the game is quite good, the story sucks so far. 12 hours in, at this rate I think it'll take me at least 40 to beat if I rush. Knowing me, I'll conquer every battle open to me and stretch it to 50. I might do the girl's quest afterwards if I'm not burnt out, since I heard she had a much better storyline. I might use some cheats to speed up the process the second time through though.

Finished Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and Burnout 3 about a week ago.

000233s05.jpg

That and it's cousin ball-lightning were my best friends in the whole world for a little while.

burnout3_screen004.jpg

Those last couple of marathon circuits that covered every track in the F1-type cars were murder. Lots of fun though.

I'll likely fire up the GameCube next as I've got to put a dent in that 20 game backlog. Unfortunately, I probably won't be doing that anytime soon as I've got to start focusing on a project I'm working on now that my "co-workers" will have the tools they require, and I won't have an excuse to slack off anymore. :D

Oh, I'm also playing Klonoa
7.jpg

and Mario 64 DS
super-mario-64-ds-20041122053842194.jpg

Funny thing is, that's about where I'm at in terms of stars.

I'll likely get a copy of Zookeeper soonish to go along with the copy of Minish Cap I recently bought. That way I'll have a new pair to keep with me once I'm done with Mario & Klonoa.

I haven't had time to play much of anything, but the last things I played were:

GBA: Yugioh Worldwide Edition

DS: Mario 64

PS2: GTA SA

GC: Mr Driller Drill Land

Xhouse: PSO

Though, I did play through Moonwalker arcade and the first two areas on Genesis Moonwalker yesterday, just to make customers go "wtf" at Michael Jackson sound effects...

And when I finish the Minish cap:

I was actually looking at this... it looked a lot like Arc the Lad 2? Does it continue that game's story or anything?

MP2:Echoes - I'd say about 2/3'rds of the way through the game, I just completed
transferring the energy in Sanctuary
Paper Mario - Chapter 6 or 7 now I think
Rome: Total War - Slowly conquering the world, about 10 hours I'd say I've played.

RE4 should be arriving today, I think I'll be saying goodbye to the above once it does. :D

RE4, mostly. Just got past my first big encounter with the villagers in the village and I'm having a little bit of fun.

I'm playing some advance wars on the side, too, but I've been playing it for about a year so...

Let's see.. on the DS I rotate Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits, Mario 64 DS, Feel the Magic XY/XX, Zelda: Minish Cap, and Super Mario Advance 4.

Gamecube is Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Resident Evil 4.

Xbox is Outrun2.

PS2 is Metal Gear Solid 3.

I'm mostly playing the DS because I'm on the bus a ton this semester, and I can't do homework on the bus. =\

Xbox: Kotor 2, Halo 2

PS2: Killzone, Jak 3

Cube : Res Evil 4

DS : Zelda minnish

PC : WoW

Sidenote: One of the few Xbox owners that didnt like the original Halo> Halo 2 is much better imo.. great game. Also hated Jak 2 and returned it after buying my PS2 becuase of the original. Happily, even though it still has guns, the third installment is much better paced and strikes a good difficulty balance. BTW... Killzone: ignored the reviews on this one and it's one of the few times I'm glad I did. Very fun game with nice Half-Life like enemy AI.

My PS2 is still broken ($%@$ i have MGS3 but i can't play it ^$#^#) and I sold my xbox while i can still get enough money for it it's modded) before xenon comes out so i'm just stuck with nintendo stuff now:

GBA - I don't even know where it is
DS - I haven't touched it in a while but i still play the sm64ds mini games from time to time.
GC - RE4

oh there's also my cellphone:

Ericsson P800 - Doom and solitaire
