A production logo, vanity card, vanity plate, or vanity logo is a logo used by movie studios and television production companies to brand what they produce. Production logos are usually seen at the beginning of a theatrical movie or video game (an "opening logo"), or at the end of a television program or TV movie (a "closing logo"). Many production logos have become famous over the years, such as the 20th Century Fox's searchlights, Paramount Pictures's mountain, and MGM's Leo the Lion.

Unlike logos for most other media, production logos can take advantage of motion and synchronized sound, and almost always do.

i can't find the PFFR one but it's pretty good. Mark VII Limited.

i still can't figure out what this guy is saying http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycv48_DlNEY

Not a logo per-say but i've always loved the painting animation of a man running and then turning into a bird. Can't believe i've forgot the name of the company atm, but that whole thing is mesmerizing imo.

Sets up the movie following wonderfully I feel:

Pure sex:

Off the top of my head I can't think of many video game ones I like, but I know there must be some. I'll probably remember when other people post some.

There's a movie production clip where a man turns into a bird. Forgot the name. Saw it when I went to see Magic Mike in the previews.

Paramount during the Gulf and Western ownership...probably cause a lot of my favorite movies released during that tenure.

That Shaw Brothers logo is pretty epic, as well.

This is a good place for me to spew venom on the Studio Canal intro that they put on the front of a lot of old b&w Criterion films. It's the most obnoxious thing ever, not just because it's this hypercolor mess in the midst of everything else being pure b&w, either.
