Why not? In motion and with color it is specially pretty, and seeing that in TOHOSCOPE sure had to be cool!

I'm fairly confident that many here are posting their preferences based on their experiences with movies from those production companies they mention, so seeing that logo adds an additional joy when you have accustomed to expect something special that begins with it.

Sorry I'm being a Debbie Downer, but that's generally what happens with these types of threads.

Yeah, and in part I like it! We may not be able to reach a consensus and end up with every logo imaginable posted in here (as habitual), but al least we can know what each of our pals prefers.

Also, if this doesn't give you chills ...

I always loved that sequence. Also, I never saw this as a kid, but thanks to YouTube I can now appreciate the the April Fool's variant. Finally, the making of feature is worth ten minutes of your time, if only so you can sit there and think, "Man, everything I'm seeing here has been rendered obsolete by computers."

As for my own personal favorite:

The logo itself is pretty solid, but the full Bandai Emotion introduction is what makes it epic.

They used that bumper forever. Well into the '90s, IIRC.

Back when TV was still the main form of entertainment, there were 30 channels, and the family sat around the TV for what was still considered a "special" presentation.

It's weird thinking about it.

Try FOUR channels. 3 and fuzzy 4th if it was bad weather.

The MGM lion one I love, basically because Stargate usually follows for me.

Can't help saying "Gonzo" like that every time I see the word.

I liked the different ridiculous methods the monkey used to unintentionally kill itself.

The sound accompanied great games, like Crash Bandicoot: Warped, Tomba!, Einhander, and Brave Fencer Musashi. Speaking of those last ones:

And the THX logo, which always sounded so foreboding, though maybe not so much anymore.

It's not particularly cool to look at, but the Studio Khara card before the Rebuild movies gives me the chills. The sound is so weird.

Trying to find a link to an example.
