Anyway forgive my technological incompetence

I am looking to buy an Advanced AV pack tomorrow for my Xbox, I am in Australia so I think we have the older cables.

from what I can gather I need to buy an additional cable connect the S-video cable to the AV pack.

Tell me simply what I need M$’s website is shit house

Will i need to buy an S-Video and optical lead to plug into this or are they included? (2002-05-05)
Additional cables are required for optical output. (2002-05-09)

is it an old tv? most new tvs come with RGB, it looks like just a normal SCART, but you get component cable quality with it. If you buy this joytech it has all you need.

New TV it's only 25 inches just for my room

what's the model? you can probably check if it has a rgb scart online. I have a cheap 21" flatscreen sony and it supports rgb, it doesn't even have s-video.

Guess that doesn't have a SCART input then.. How are you going to hook up the sound? Does it have sound inputs?

I would go for a 28"-29" widescreen or flat or 21" flatscreen that supports widescreen, never heard of these 25" tvs, but if the image quality is good you can buy it I guess.

Just planning to hook the sound up to the stereo in my room.

I just bought an S-video pack. Can't remember what they called the pack exactly. It has optical out as well.

Just go look in EB.

OK just went and had a look at the pack. It's called Advanced AV pack. (as opposed to Hi def AV pack)

It includes stereo cables and S-Video cable. No optical cable though.

I love you, anyway are you devastated we lost the cricket?
How can our world champion cricket team loose to a bunch of sheep shagers?
P.S what state you are you in me = WA, Perth

Do you know if you can get S-video gamecube cables in Australia?

I highly doubt it with the shocking sales Nintendo has down under.

S-Video + PAL GameCube = No way.

For some stupid reason Nintendo disabled the use of S-Video for Pal Cubes. I'll probably get a component cable off them one day.

Doesn't help you though.

Yeah I just checked out Nintendo’s website, it sucks just another example of us getting screwed over by Nintendo.

Hey do you have Xbox live?

I am about to get broadband so I wanted to know if you had a recommendation for live use.

How much was the AV pack you picked up?

And was it the newer model? I think there is an older and new model

I think it was 39 AU

Been a while since I got it though. It's the older box type.

I would think there is no difference in picture quality, just the new one would be cheaper to make.

How can a new 25 inch TV not have scart sockets? Australia is PAL right?

Even my lousy 15 years+ old 20 inch Samsung has scart with RGB support.

I bought s-video cables by monster, came with an optical cable too, works great.

I didnt think there was an offical AV pack with S-video & optical out.

Scart is really a Europe thing.

You very rarely see TV's with SCART sockets here. I've seen like, 2....and I own one of the 2 I've seen.

My new 68cm TV doesn't have it. (but it has component and S-video so who gives a shit about scart) but my crappy 34cm 10 yr old tv has.
