What do you love more?

Your PC or your consoles

I personally fell in love hard with my Nintendo/Sega consoles in the late 80s/early 90s

Then mid 90s, I fell in love with PC Gaming for awhile and was almost exclusively a PC Gamer (all time favorite game is Deus Ex). Then a few years ago I bought a Xbox, then Gamecube, then PS2. I find myself drawn to them more every day and find it hard to go back and play my PC....with the exception of the occasional LAN Party

so whats your choice....if you had to make one? :)

For me, its consoles

Consoles, always have, always will. I just like the sit in front of my TV with a controller and 5.1 sound, pop in a game and play.

PC is such an awkwards platform to play games on unless they're point and click adventures or little flash games.

I spend my 90% of my time on my pc but I spend 80% of my time gaming on console.
Nothing comes close to playing the latest great adventure game on a console.

Consoles.

I see no reason to be a PC gaming fan these days, other that a select couple titles a year. (And of course, they're all strategy, FPS, and MMORPGs -- which I could care less about).

Being a PC-only gamer is like owning only an Xbox in 2005.

Even if you like your PC and PC games more, you can't get attached to it because you have to throw it out every 2 years to play the newest games

consoles of course. I already got a hernia from spending 22 hours a day on the internet. The other 2 hours are for gaming on my consoles.

While PC and console games used to be vastly separate, the previous gen completely shook it up and smashed the two together. These days, I see the PC as an individual platform, much like each of my consoles. I can't really say it'd be fair, even though it sure as hell does hold its own.

It amazes me that people willingly play video games on these things.

When there's no better control method for certain genres and no other platforms that offer as much freedom, it happens.

This hasn't been a fair fight in about 10 years. There have been two times where PC gaming was as vibrant than the consoles (for me, anyway):

'84-'86 when the current consoles "crashed" and everyone switched over to computer games.

Early 90's when the PC was quite a bit more powerful than the consoles (SNES & GEN) and a lot of great new ideas were born (Myst, Sim City, Alone in the Dark, etc)

Consoles by far.

I just lose more and more interest in PC gaming as a whole.

There are ususally juse a few titles a year that have me excited.

PC - for the *best* of western gaming. FPSes, RTSes, RPGs <--- always best on PC.

PS2 - for the *best* of eastern gaming. jRPGs, Racing, Platformers <--- always best on PS2.

GCN - for that special N-touch. Mario, Zelda, Metroid <--- only on Nintendo platform(s).

I love them equally. It boggles my mind how one can substitute a PC with an Xbox/360.

I was a PC-gaming nutcase when I was a little kid- Wasteland, Ultima 4-7, D&D Gold Box, all the great Sierra adventure games, I played them all (especially Wasteland and the Ultimas). I had an NES and SMS too, but my passion was PC gaming b/c I just loved the depth of experience they gave you and the uniquely violent content that was totally unavailable on consoles at the time (Wasteland, Police Quest). With the Genny my allegiances began to shift quite a bit, especially since as I remember it PC gaming was in quite a lull at the time. I skipped the 32-bit generation altogether (no real reason other than my being busy doing other things) and got back into gaming with the DC. Now I simply don't have the time to commit to PC games so I'm purely a console player. My brother is into PC gaming, which actually adds to my sentiment that I'll probably stick to console gaming since FPSes and MMORPGs hold almost zero appeal for me. It may just be my own perception, but it seems that either PC gaming has gotten much more limited (to basically the above-mentioned categories save for tons of exceptions of course) or PC publishers just focus on types of games in which I have no interest versus the areas they used to focus on before (adventure games, traditional RPGs). The one area I do miss is strategy gaming, and I'll definitely pick up Civ again when I have the time and get a new computer in a few months here.

My PC is my internet-photoshop-Unreal Tournament-World of Warcraft box.

My consoles have my <3.

I forgot to list the odd contradiction.

Its always some new game that causes me to upgrade my system. Neverwinter Nights was the last one. NWN2 may be the next. :)

The only computer games I play are adventure games and Solitaire. And with Indigo Prophecy proving adventure games can work on consoles, my computer gaming might be restricted to Solitaire in a few years.

So, consoles for me.

What do you love more? Your PS2 or the other consoles and the PC combined?

That's about as fair a question as comparing modern PC gaming to every other console this gen. Sure, if I had to pick between having all of the consoles or the PC, I'd probably go with the consoles. But the PC is definitely more important than any other individual console.

i don't have a problem digging into my hardware or fiddling with config files. i love tweaking. i have a fast illustrator / photoshop box. i still play war3 on a regular basis. i have been playing games online, free, since 1995. i sunk at least 500 hours into diablo 2.

i still own about 10 as many console games, though.

Different percentages, but the same idea. So much time spent on the PC doing things like GAF, talking to friends, making stupid images or sound... but gaming on the PC for me tends to be very limited, though those games I play I'll end up playing off-and-on forever, essentially, like StarCraft and The Sims.

If we are talking about strictly games, then consoles. I've said this before, but the genres on PC are too limited. Online rpgs are the only thing I look forward to now on it.
