What Does Gaming in the Rest of 2025 Look Like for You?

I might come out of VF5 retirement. That would keep me busy in a bad way.

Tekken 8 is garbage. Someone asked for my opinion on soul calibur and I told them my opinion of soul calibur is that I hate tekken 8.

Maybe this is not the place to talk about how T8 sucks. Anyway, VF6 looks fucking awesome (idk why people were disappointed by that last q&a. Got me from pretty excited to on the edge of my seat.) So... yeah whatever that latest VF5 release might be cool to get into.

Other than that, I have a few games I want to polish off. I typically don't force myself to finish games, but I have a few that are super close to done so it would be cool to finish them off. HFW and Indiana Jones.

Kind of wanting a strategy game, too. I have a few on steam and a few for older consoles. Looking at anything turn base between military and 4x. Little more afraid of 4x. By the time get my fill, I still barely understand the game.

Ninja Gaiden 4.

I'd love to find time for: Dying Light: The Beast, Mafia: Old Country, Little Nightmares 3 and Eriksholm

also, wanna finally wrap up my Steam Deck backlog Darkest Dungeon 2 Kingdoms 3, the Drifter, Labirynth of the Demon King

Completely forgot about Doom Dark Ages. I still want to play it but holding out on a complete edition with all DLC for around $50. I can wait.

I'm honestly running out of games to play this year. Plan's to finish SH f and then tackle the Alan Wake 2 DLC. When I'm done with that I'll prolly briefly jump into Death Stranding 2 before I buy and finish Cronos next month. After that I'll probably be playing Death Stranding 2 for the remainder of the year and the occasional trophy game. Only new upcoming game I'm looking forward to this year is Terminator 2D.

Trying to complete yakuza 6 100% and then move to yakuza 7, by the time i am done with 7, FF14 probly update 7.4 patch, so i will come back for it for maybe couple of thousand hours before moving to next game

Currently playing:

Dragon Quest V

Will be playing:

Pokémon Legends Z-A
Metroid Prime 4
Hades 2 (physical copy)

That's probably it for me for the rest of the year.

Finishing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, then playing some PS+ games like Robocop before my subscription expires at the end of December.
No new releases appeal to me. I was looking forward to the Dave the Diver DLC, but that has been postponed to 2026.

I need to add Persona 3 Reloaded to my "Want to Play" list. I put a good 10 hours into it and it's great!
Yeah, I started it on Game Pass and loved the first few hours. Think I have to choose between it and Metaphor: Fantazio and keep the other till later, I think I'll go for Metaphor and then in a year have the same dilemma with Persona 3 Relaod and the PE4 Remake :D

Way too much to play, right now i'm juggling between yotei and hades 2, bloodlines 2 is about to release and i still have cronos installed and barely even tried...

Not to mention the usual backlog...

currently playing:
Breath Of The Wild Switch 2 ( beating all the shrines for the first time)
Galaxy 1 & 2 HD

I bought and will play soon:
Metal Gear Solid Delta PS5

Will buy:
Metroid Prime 4
Zelda Age Of Imprisonment
Indiana Jones PS5 (waiting for when there is a good sale)

My backlog though is crazy long so Im in no rush for buying new games.I am waaaay behind because I keep replaying my favorite classic games constantly and just watch YouTube and Twitch streams . I have bought but barely played:
Elden Ring ps4
Red dead redemption 2
Last of us part 2
Last of us part 1 remastered (still in the shrinkwrap)
God Of War Ragnarok
FF 16
FF Rebirth
Bowsers Fury
Bayonetta 3
and more…

(I buy games I've always wanted when they go on a good sale but it just keeps piling up)

Currently playing:
Ghost of Yotei
GTAV (replaying SP only)

Want to play in my library:
Vertigo 2
Hitman WOA
Snake Eater Remake
Dead Space Remake (2nd playthrough)

Battlemarked PSVR2
Battlefield 6

Maybe picking up by 2026:
Arc Raiders

Modern gaming has me more and more jaded. I've been threatening to do it for a while and finally got Duckstation up and running. So I'm going to enjoy some pure PS1 games for a while.
Mixing in Steam library games here and there. Working on multiple JRPG's: Ryza, Nocturne, Digimon, Expedition 33.
I might try to get an 65" OLED on Black Friday, then I would get back into some 4K console gaming.

I replaying all the mainline resident evil games. I played them all on console so it's nice going through them on my nice pc and 65 inch qd oled.
Done 0, 1hd, 2 Remake and currently on 3 remake.

I've also embarked on a crazy mission of watch ALL Star Trek 😅 I'm currently on Season 3 of the Original series 😅. 2 hours a day will take me 2 years lol.

Never could get that into it. I tried 6 briefly but it had that clash mechanic thing ...
2 is pretty much the best fighting game ever made. 6 is great though. The reversal edge thing doesn't really bother me honestly. Getting deep into the weeds here, but anything that helps scrubs even slightly on defense is fair. It's pretty easy to get around if you know what you're doing.

I meant to go learn about the mechanic and come back but never did. Game is probably pretty dead now too, right? Thats a big limitation for me. I can play some games with smaller pools but it can be a drag.

SC2 was the only one I played a good amount of. Even then, I think something about sc is just not my style. So I end up never wanting to put any effort into it.

It might have a small base on PC for all I know, but yeah its several years old now.

lots of driving...karts, motorcycles, airships, ...maybe even tanks and planes...never know.

I really liked gbfv, but by the time I picked it up not terribly long after it came out .. it was a ghost town. Kinda sucks depending on that to play a game. :/ fg are my only multiplayer and I know it happens with other genres, but fg outside of the biggest ones are rough for this.

Just indies and smaller budget games. Maybe something that goes on sale. Small chance of Ninja Gaiden but not at $70 and not without seeing user feedback.

I picked up some retro controllers over the summer. UFO 50 would be a great way to break them in! Seems like a fun game to play during the holidays , too.

The Quarry is flawed but I really enjoyed it, hope you like creepy.

I am going through the games sequentially and it's such an interesting mix; you can tell they put a ton of work in making it feel period appropriate in a way I respect a lot. It's a pretty incredible compilation.

Been ripping Helldivers 2 and Grounded 2.

Thinking about Digimon and FF tactics.

Eagerly awaiting Slay the Spire 2 and the Grounded 2 winter update.

That's awesome! I've heard nothing but good things. I would probably go through them sequentially, too.

Maybe I'll pick it up during the next Steam sale 🙂

Currently just replaying old stuff, like Silent Hill 1, PS1 Resident Evils, and old Fallout games.
I'll probably get Jurassic World Evolution 3 and Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection.
Then I'll wait for the holiday sales to buy some VR games. Maybe Sonic Racing too, if it's at a good price.

Between working my ass off and winding down with some 90's dungeon-crawlers in the evening I don't have much room for new games atm. But will definitely pick up:
  • FF: Tactics Remastered
  • HoMM: Olden Era
  • Crimson Desert
  • NORSE: Oath of Blood Demo
  • Mina the Hollower
  • Anno 117
When time and mood permits.

I've had a hectic past few months so I'll attempt to pick up and play through everything I've missed. It'll probably be in reverse order, so I'll start with something like Metroid Prime 4 which is out around the time of my vacation. Then maybe Hades 2. We'll see how far I get.

Mainly been playing Apex Legends on PS5 (before I sold it) and now Switch 2.

I've bought Hades II, and will be buying Sparking Zero, Yooka-Replayee and Galaxy 1 & 2. I'll also pick up EA FC when it hits 50% off (usually November or December.

I'm waiting until next year to play DK Bananza and Legends Z-A.

Currently with Silksong, after that is Nine Sols and the last one should be Animal Well

I have to add Metroid Dread and remove Animal Well since i already finished it on my now sold PS5. Wanted to have it on Steam as well but i have other games that i didnt play (Death's Door, GRIME)
