What else do you use BBQ sauce for instead of its regular applications?

I've been messing with making my own homemade BBQ sauce--the sweet dark brown style sauce. Not the vinegar based sauces.

I mostly use it beef and lamb and slow roasting.

But are there any other applications I cause it for? I tried it as a topping on burgers, but it's just taste wrong--mayo is my go to for burgers.

What do you use BBQ for outside its traditional uses?

I buy roasted chicken from the supermarket if I don't have time to roast it myself. Bring home, disassemble it, pull meat apart with fork, mix with bbq sauce, add to buns, BOOM, pulled chicken bbq sandwiches.

If you're going to put it on a burger, the other toppings on the burger need to compliment the 'que. Cheddar cheese and red onions, for instance.

BBQ sauce goes nicely in dishes or meals that normally call for tomato sauce or tomatoes as ingredients. I've put it in chili and jambalaya, and replacing the tomato sauce in pizza (BBQ chicken pizza).

Best hamburgers I've ever had were the homemade ones we used to make, and we'd cover those in barbecue sauce while cooking. They were HUGE burgers full of onions and other stuff though.

My dad loves it as a burger topping, I like it but don't really go out of my way. I use it on sausages though.

Dad also uses it in chili sometimes.
