While I'm waiting for my copy of xenoblade chronicles DE to arrive, I started up witcher 3 again after a long break. I beat it a while ago on the xbox one, but got a copy for the ps4 as well so I've been playing that version on and off for a while. Turns out, the game is still fantastic.

What time is it?
I can't wait for Paper Mario next week! :)
I'm currently in the middle of these:

- CrossCode - XBox One X (GamePass)
- Dead By Daylight - XBox One X (GamePass)
- Fortnite - XBox One X
- My Time in Portia - Nintendo Switch

How's Portia on Switch these days? It ran like garbage at launch and I deleted it.

I went blast from the past this weekend:

-Sniper Elite V2 Remastered (Switch) - I loved this game back on the PS3 but I'm afraid it hasn't held up well. The control setup is also pretty awkward.
-Star Wars Racer (Switch) - Never played the N64 version, but boy oh boy is this a treat. Great track design, then sense of speed is amazing and it even has an upgrade system which makes it even more addicting. I mess the hell out of arcade racers.

It definitely has some occasional frame rate issues, but it's the only version of the game we've tried so I'm not sure how it compares. I wish it was possible to move the save between systems! If it didn't mean I would have to start over, I'd love to play it on XBox GamePass now. :)

"Underwhelmed" was exactly how I felt about Syndicate too.

Paris is so much better anz in my opinion, in Unity parkour is the best it had ever been. Also the main character is vulnerable against more than couple of enemies instead of thr superhero it is in the newer games.

Just picked up Unity on Xbone for $2.50 on cdkeys. Hope I get to assassinate Marat.

At the fire based level in Bloodstained Curse of Moon 2. Overall enjoying this game a lot. The characters each have their own uniqueness to them. The bosses and monsters have been pretty good. Between shooting stuff, sword combat, spear techniques, and using stone skin, the game does just as good as the original.

Xenogears (still replaying this). Bart is such a moron for shooting down the Goliath Those mechanics drove me nuts, especially when I missed hitting them. They then heal the boss for 500 HP at a time. Not very difficult, but that boss would boost his strength and defenses.

Played some Killing Floor 2. Not bad. I got a lot out of L4D2, but this seems like a pretty good game.

Playing Final Fantasy VII Remake for the second time. I'm also playing a few PlayStation games. Right now I'm playing Legend of Dragoon (on disc 2), Mega Man Legends, Ehrgeiz, Legend of Legaia (21 hours) and Rival Schools: United by Fate (mostly playing the mini games). I was playing Galerians. I forgot how bad the controls were. Stopped at disc 2.

really addicted to Don't Starve

I played quite a bit back then, but VR rogue-likes and NMS bought me back to it. It's really a terrific game, that unfolds its narrative and game mechanics entirely by self-discovery. There's such a mysterious quality to it, you always feel like playing another session to see how much you can endure or if there's actually a way to escape this crazy world...

each new play you're better than before, without even resorting to powerups or checkpoints: you just learn how to be better, much like chess...

I'm currently on my PlayStation and I'm playing Persona. I really wanted to get into this series seeing as how popular it got now! Never really gave the first few games a real look. I think I'm pretty much near the end.

I dunno what you guys think of this particular game but I'd definitely recommend it (I just love all RPGs), seeing as I'm having a good time with it.

Some random encounters can be pretty hard to get through, but I grinded a lot and I toyed with the persona system a lot so it isn't as difficult. I love all the characters and voice overs (I like all voiceovers) and I love, and really dig the highschool theme. The music is really great never batted an eyelash to it before!

Save points are sparse and dungeons can be quite long if it's your first time and don't know where you're going I found myself running from a lot of battles just because I was in such a hurry to save my game.

Death Stranding.

I guess I'm not enjoying it after all. Haven't touched it in over a week and only managed to play an hour. I don't know WTF it wants me to do...it keeps raining and it says to get out of it but there's nowhere to hide most of the time. Today I thought oh I'll go hide in those trees but nope.

I have been walking for hours out to these places and now it's telling me to go all the way back where I started and oh bring some fucking deliveries with me. Daryl starts freaking out and tripping about so how am I meant to carry all that shit back?

Getting tired of Kojima's bullshit.

Dark Cloud on the PS4.

Man, shit takes me back in time. Getting goosebumps every time I reach a section that seems familiar.

Game itself is still extremely fun as well. Something about those old games (pre PS3 era) always gives me the feeling that they were made with far more passion and love.

Today I finally started Borderlands 3. I'm 4 hours in and really enjoying it so far. I've been wanting to play ever since it came out last September and I'm just now getting around to it but it works out because I've got the whole week off from work. After I finish the main game I've also got plenty of DLC to buy and play through. :)

Continuing with Shadow of the Colossus. About to slay my 10th one.

Playing it now on my newly bought Samsung Q70t series of TVs. I was originally going for a LG C9 but for some reason LG has stopped manufacturing them in favor of their new C10, so they were hard to come by. Got a good price though on the Samsung, and it's the latest model from 2020, equipped with HDMI 2.1 with 4K output @120hz.

I had to tinker with the settings for quite some time before I was satisfied, but now it looks gorgeous, both games and movies. Upgraded my Netflix to premium with Ultra HD content.

SoTC looks absolutely sick. Bluepoint are masters when it comes to graphics. Very clean image. This bodes well for PS5, can't wait to try out all the new games in this tv. Even Switch-games seemed to get a bump in the graphics department. Or maybe it's just me getting all giddy because I got a new shiny toy.

Legendary game that aged like wine. I thought Dark Cloud 2 was a big step down. Huge bummer. :messenger_persevering:

Chrono Trigger on SNES.

I started up a new game today been wanting to play this one for the longest time and finally got around to it.

Played for about 28 minutes and it absolutely took my breath away and brought me back to the time in my life where I was the happiest. Great game so far.
First time through?

Oh boy. Enjoy the mythic adventure.

Definitely not. I know for sure I've beaten it at least once, but, it's been so long I don't remember a lickin' thing.

Thanks for the kind words! I want to enjoy the adventure this time around as much as I can! This RPG definitely puts me in a "happy place."

I've always wanted to explore every nook-and-cranny to this game and soak up every last bit to the last drop.

Sorry if that's a bit dramatic, haha!

No apology needed. This is a gaming forum, after all. :messenger_beaming:

It has a lot to explore and a lot of little secrets and alternative paths to complete, to say nothing of all the available endings. I think there are like 7 or 8 "main" ones and another 10 or 15 minor / early Lavos / joke endings.

About 10 or 12 years ago a buddy of mine was going through CT for the first time, beat the game in about 4 solid days of playing, and was gushing about how he loved it. I asked if he happened to recruit Magus and his face went ghost-white lololol such a good game with so many missable secrets.

Ok I'll keep that in mind then!! :)

Obviously I've only gotten one of the endings, it was the one with the fireworks, the Epoch streaking across the nightsky in red and Crono's Mom falling through the time Gate.

Lol. I didn't manage to get Magus the first time either!

Can’t wait for my copy to arrive and play on my big-ass tv. Very excited to revisit this gem and try the photo mode.

Edit: In the mean time, I’m working my way through God of War. The combat is great—despite the camera working against me at times—and has the right amount of side content without going full open-world. The visuals are astounding and the story has solid moments too.

Finished Shadow of the Colossus today. Very impressive graphically. HDR made wonders. It's the first time I run a game with this implementation and the image was so clean and crisp I had to stop several times just checking out beautiful environments.

SotC is epic, atmospheric and above all, unique. It's a game like no other, and it's clear that Sony cherishes this game given that they went the extra mile for an impressive remake from the ground up.

But it's also very frustrating and obtuse. The camera is more often than not a boss itself and the controls are terrible, especially when horse riding.

There are a couple of Colossis that stand out among others. 3, 5, 12, 15 and the final one are simply incredible, both in its scale and how beautiful (and terrifying) they look. But climbing can get annoying because the Colossis shakes violently so you end up falling off because stamina runs out and you have to do it all over.

Then you have Colossis that are rage inducing such as 10 and 14, who are a sort of puzzle in itself but also from them slamming Wander around so much that I haven't got a chance to get up. It's crazy how long it takes to get up when you get your ass handed to you.

Overall, Shadow of the Colossus is a good game, sometimes spectacular and adrenaline fueled, with amazing environments, but it's dragged down by some annoying flaws that I've never managed to overlook. I didn't like it on PS2 and I don't like it here either. So no matter how many chances I give SotC I cannot fully embrace it. It just doesn't click.

Props to Bluepoint though, as a remake it's very impressive work. I cannot wait to get my hands on Demon's Souls. That shit is gonna be pure fire.

Just got through Curse of the Moon 2. Awesome sequel to an already great game. It is definitely the 'Castlevania 3' to 'Castlevania' when it comes to difficulty though.

Playing through my backlog and the first game is Azure Striker Gunvolt. Beat the first game and playing through the second! Loving both so far!

Just finished my second playthrough of The Witcher 3. Main story only so far, gonna dig into the DLCs again shortly. First time was on PS4 and this time was PC with the high res texture mods. It still looks pretty damn incredible for its age. All time classic for me.

Now I'm going to play some Apex while I patiently wait for the Amazon man to deliver Ghost of Tsushima.

Castlevania collection is reduced to €4 on the Switch store, got it with points for under 3 last night.

Almost brought a tear to my jaded eye when I fired up the nes original and heard the first level music, must be nearly 30 years since I played it.

I love getting a bargain :messenger_smiling_with_eyes:

Had a week off and nothing to play so ended up downloading Pokemon Infernal Red, it's a fan made remake of Red in the B/W engine. It's actually excellent, been wanting a real Pokemon experience ever since Sword and Shield were steamy piles of shit.

It's actually delayed me starting Ghost of Tsushima.

Constantly playing Apex while trying to finish my replay of Uncharted 4 (just got to Chapter 18). I got it for like 10 bucks on sale right after I finished the ND Collection. Gotta get back to TLOU2, was like 5 hours in and got pulled away.
