What time is it?
  • Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 (Switch) - Just got the 4th playable character. Game is awesome.
  • Nioh 2 (PS4) - I'm in the 5th area now and carrying 11 million Amrita.
  • Wreckfest (Xbox) - Free weekend. Not sure I get it. The racing seems bad. I guess demolition derby is fun.
  • New Super Lucky's Tale (Xbox) - Collected all the pages in the first area. Movement mechanics seem a little simplistic and the game offers little challenge. Writing makes me gag.

Third act in Deadly Premonition 2 now. As long as the story progresses, the game is very enjoyable. Swerys writing and characters keeps me glued to the screen. But whenever the game strays off its beaten path with side quests and mini games, it all falls apart and becomes a boring slog.

Overall though, it's a good game. Just not as good as the original. It doesn't have the same charm or uniqueness to it. I would love for this franchise to continue though. It still got loads of weird and strange shit going for it to be a special kind of experience. And Francis York Morgan needs to be a part of more games. He is such a lovable goof ball character. I love everyone of his bizarre monologues. He truly is the video game equivalent of Agent Cooper.

Finish this week Batman Arkham Knight. Was OK, not better than Arkham City. Still trying to plat Cuphead because is a hell of game. Gonna go back to WW2 war mode because is fun.
Really hope the wait for Crysis remastered is worthy.

resident evil 7 and warzone. I missed out on Re7 back when it came out(was a little put off by the first person direction the game went towards). Re 7 was on sale for $7-9, it's been an incredible survival horror game so far. Warzone with randoms and with buddies

New Super Luckys Tale - As someone else mentioned, it's a bit simplistic and easy. I think it makes up for it in overall polish. I like the feel and level design of this over other 3D platformers like Hat in Time and Yooka Laylee.

Xeno Crisis - This is a Smash TV style game where you murder aliens. Not much else to it. Pretty damn good for a Sega Genesis game in 2019. The pixel art is gorgeous.

Playing xenoblade chronicles definitive edition for the switch. Up to chapter 10 and am on the icy right arm of Bionis. Pretty fun so far, I'm expecting the plot to go crazy like in X.
Like how Fiora is somehow alive and working with the Mechanis, I'm guessing that it really isn't her but some kind fo doppleganger. It's also incredibly obvious that metalface is the guy who ran off during the battle of sword valley

The credits are rolling in Deadly Premonition 2 as we speak. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to its cult classic predecessor. It was inferior on all accounts and at the end, it was nothing but a chore to get through.

It had an interesting story and some fun, wacky characters worthy of the first game, but the conclusion was so convoluted and Swery trying to connect the dots with the original didn't work at all. It was just a big anti climax.

On rotation right now between Destiny 2 (I'm a newb in this game but getting the hang of it) and Pathfinder Kingmaker since they've updated.

Also, some Animal Crossing on the side on random occasions.

Finished with the seasonal Overwatch skins so I'm good on that.

Yakuza 4. Love almost everything about, feels much better than number 3, which I beat a couple of days ago. My goal is to get all the previous games done before 7 comes out :messenger_tongue:

I finished Xenogears today.

I ended up going to Joe’s shop and just buying 4 GNSR50s, Gold Z Amor for Xenogears, and a Z booster. I was a level 71, so I wasn’t sure I wanted the OMEGA100 engine. I did do a test save and I didn’t go with it just because I wasn’t sure on what kinds of fight I’d have with Dues. What an understatement. I was taking 10k damage with level 1 deathblows. I didn’t even fight his spheres. I went straight for his 75k and it didn’t take long. That shop breaks the game if you bring a lot of money.

Chapter 3 in Oninaki. Everything is fine and dandy, except the story which is beyond mediocre. And seeing this is an RPG I'd say that is a big fucking issue. I'm done with Tokyo RPG Factory after this. I've given them too many chances.

Not sure what I'll end up playing tonight and this weekend, but its gonna be something from:

1. Sekiro (PS4) - I'm only a few hours in, getting my ass kicked pretty bad.
2. Nioh 2 (PS4) - Grinding the DLC trophies, at 91% overall since I platted the game.
3. Pokemon Shield (Switch) - Almost done.
4. Mortal Kombat 11 (XBO) - I let my AI grind towers.
5. Hitman 2 (XBO) - Need to finish this.
6. Destroy All Humans (PS4) - Going for the platinum, 54% there.

Matterfall

I've had this game in my backlog for quite some time (3 years to be exact) and I remember not liking it due to the control scheme. But now I've revisited it and it is a blast.

I've forgotten how much I love these fast paced arcade shooters. Matterfall plays like a dream and looks very nice. My only gripe is still with the controls. Jumping on R1 is not comfortable for me, it's just hard to reprogram the muscle memory. I just wish you could button config on your own.

Not current, but I'm going to be moving house next week and I've actually bought myself a PS2, and some choice titles... For some budget gaming quality..Front mission 4&5, ssx 3 (my third console to have it), rogue galaxy, grandia iii, gt4, tales of Symphonia, ffxii international jobs edition...

... You know, it struck me that the entire library of arguably the best game console in history can be bought for like 3 bucks a title here.. including limited edition packs...

...i have got a component cable and a hdmi converter too

The only problem is that "here" is Japan, and these games are almost exclusively 100% Japanese... Talk about an incentive to learn the lingo~ if i can learn said lingo though, ye gads, a galaxy of great titles..

The final boss in Matterfall is the biggest cunt I've met in a long time. Goddamn he's hard. I think I'm up towards 30 tries now. He's driving me nuts.

Finally beat the last boss. But wtf the game was like four hours long! Two hours if that son of a bitch boss didn't take the whole evening to beat.

I mean, what was there was really good but Housemarque should've crammed a couple of more levels in.

Disappointed/ 10

Edit: Also the game has like 500 names in the credits. For a 2D run n gun that's over in a heartbeat. Something doesn't add up here. I bet there are more levels unlocked after the credits roll. Tomorrow.

I'm on the second Act on Ghost Of Tsushima. (Might powerthru the main quest as the side missions where you have to save towns, farms etc can be repetitive and very copy paste)
I'm also on a 3rd playthru of The Last Of Us 2 on grounded mode.

Back to Oninaki. I'm nearing the end. Gotta hang on for that last stretch. But I gotta admit, I'm looking at Paper Mario right now. It sounds way more fun.

What time is it?
  • Nioh 2 - Finished the main campaign today at level 20. Had 28 Million Amrita on hand. lol
  • SpiritFarer - The opening is just too slow and I kind of checked out when resource gathering came and farming came into play.
  • BattleToads - I'm not sure any 2D beat'em up can ever hold my attention again.
Up Next: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Double Kick Heroes, Wasteland 3 and Drake Hollow.

1 hour in on Bloodstained. So far, it definitely feels like a true successor to Symphony.

Finished Catherine Full Body too. Great game. Fun and clever puzzles that's set within a nightmarish background with a really well written and mature story and sympathetic characters. Only played the original before so this was a good remaster.

I've been going through Batman: Arkham Asylum on my Xbone. Can't remember when I played it originally. Been so long.

It does look great, never seem to be able to do long combos as I did back in the day. Guess I'm rusty. Love the character designs and voice work is great.

One thing about the Metroid style backtracking for secrets. Its kind of lame because all it is is Riddler challenges like a question mark or the Arkham background story stuff. In Metroid, you can get power ups like more missiles or energy. The effort of backtracking in this game just to stick it to the Riddler?

Bloodstained is so fucking good. It feels like an amazing continuation of SotN. The atmosphere, the kick ass music, the RPG elements, the level design, it's all there, proving that Iga still got it. It's a game I can't stop playing.

Persona 5 Royal - My first persona game. Just cleared the fourth dungeon, I'm over 90 hours in and it feels like there's still plenty more, I love it.

Risk of Rain 2 - Great fun by myself, convinced some friends to buy it and I'm trying to turn it into our new "kill and chill" game. I love how different it feels with each character.

It really puts most of the recent Metroidvanias to shame. Hard to go from Bloodstained to Iconoclast, Time Spinner, Owl Boy, etc. Game is on anothee level.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

I'm finally at the end of my AC series marathon and wanted to go out with a bang! I'm in the middle of sequence 8 right now and have really enjoyed replaying this for the first time since 2013 at the PS4 launch. The gameplay loop of doing story missions, sailing around, taking out forts and ships, upgrading the jackdaw, repeat is so satisfying. The story is a lot of fun and I seriously forgot the whole Havana Templar section in Sequence 2. My only gripe is playing on Xbox One and encountered the Nassau glitch. I had to reinstall the game with the weird work around to get past it. I have no memory of this happening to me 7 years ago and I can't believe it is still in the game. But regardless, the game is still amazing. I'll do a final series ranking once I finish. Playing the entire AC series has been one of my favorite gaming experiences of all time.
