Been delving into the lore of Blasphemous quite a bit now. It's so good, especially with the bosses. Never thought Spanish folklore would be so captivating and surreal. I love the religious theme that runs deep through the whole game, the iconography is very disturbing and some of the backstories revolving said images are equally upsetting.

Even though much of the game is steeped in depressing scenery, it always feels hopeful, I think music conveys much of that, with its somber and melancholy vibe. The artstyle is fantastic, very evocative backdrops, cool animations, great monster design etc. It's haunting yet beautiful.

I've completed the Three Humiliations and gained access to the Mother of Mothers. I've also awakened two of the four Amanecidas, and defeated the first one. The boss fights are downright incredible. Challenging and exciting, it really gets my juices flowing.

Stir of Dawn revamps almost the entire game, adding so much cool and crazy content that I feel almost ashamed for not paying for it. It's exactly what I want from a NG+. New bosses, lore, cut scenes, animations, questlines, the whole she bang.

I fucking love this game. I think it's turning into one of my favorite of all times.

Finished up Bioshock 1 & 2.
Don't know which I like more. I enjoyed both of them.
2 is more shooter, prettier also shorter.
1 has this thing about it. An eerie more unsettling atmosphere.
I love water effects in games.

I'm onto Bioshock Infinite now. I already played it back on consoles. This time I have it cranked it up on PC. Hallelujah.

3 out of 4 Amanecidas is down in Blasphemous Stir of Dawn. The third one was brutal, kept killing me numerous times, but eventually I prevailed. Great feeling. These bosses have really put my skills to test.

NG+ is way harder too, enemies hit like a truck, but it never feels unfair. You just gotta do better. The combat is very well designed. You can parry, slide, jump, all sorts of neat combos, and sometimes it feels like a dance.

Next up is my personal favorite boss, Exposito, and the one I had most trouble with during my first playthrough.

I own Blasphemous. I should try it. I just finished Star Ocean First Departure R. I had to grind a bit towards the end and use up all my items. I got the final boss down. I don’t know about the extra challenges. I should have planned better. The healer I have in stock is still in their 30’s while my current healer (Ioshua) is about at 80. There’s certain weapons and gear I would have gotten had I known how tough the final fight was going to be. The extra end game content sounds pretty intense. I am also midway through Xenoblade Chronicles DE, so there’s that. I beat Solidum Telethia and it was a good fight. I’m wondering if everyone hates that boss!? :messenger_grinning_smiling:

After moping up Spider-Man on Ultimate Difficulty I hoped into Ghost of Tsushima yesterday evening.

My impressions after 3 hours are a bit mixed. It‘s not bad but so far I‘m not really feeling it yet. I‘m also very irritated by the movement in this game. It‘s either dead slow walking pace or sprinting, both on horse and foot. Is there no in between?

Ah well, may just need some more time with the game.

Just beaten Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen, and yeah, I think this has turned into one of my favs.

It has a lot of flaws, mainly the easy difficulty of the main game, but also the lack of a proper story and not having a lot of different locations to visit.

Luckily, the DLC fixes this by just focusing on being a huge dungeon, with a lot of new enemies and bosses, all of them much harder than those of the main game. It kinda feels like Dark Souls, but less slowpaced and more beat-em-up.

In fact, one could think that the main game is like a tutorial for the DLC.

But the flaws don't matter when the game play is so, so good. You have meaty combat, with a good sense of weight and nice physics. Some DMC-like combos, Monster Hunter-like bosses and also a lot of different classes, each with their own abilities.

I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys open world adventures or just action games in general, as you spend most of the time battling foes and that part is fantastic.

The only problem now is that after 8 years we still don't have Dragons Doma 2. ;_;

I've owned this game for a while but just started playing it. I'm not far at all, just made my permanent follower, but so far it seems pretty cool.

You are in for a ride! It got a little bit boring for me when nearing the last parts of the main game (mainly because it was getting a little bit too easy), but the end part and everything that comes after surely payed for it.

Have fun!

So as mentioned earlier, for the first time in a decade, I dug out NFS: Hot Pursuit for the PS3, and it is as fun as ever, with the added burnout vibe, Forza is all well and good, but blasting a EMP to the Porsche in front of you, or calling on a helicopter for support is as good as it was the first time around! Combine that with this custom track I chose to play in the background - and its great!! :messenger_grinning_smiling: :messenger_sunglasses:

Finished Blasphemous Stir of Dawn. Simply amazing. I have no words for how much I love this game. It has improved in an impressive way with the new expansion.

I went for 100 percent completion this time. Collecting all treasures, magic, beads, hearts and flasks. Finished all questlines. Complete the map. Somehow I got 101, 37 % so I guess there is some more to explore.

True torment mode was rough in the beginning, but once I upgraded to max, and with some new powerful beads at hand, the bosses went down fast. I don't mind though, as it has been very challenging overall over my two playthroughs.

I will definitely revisit this game in the future. It's a stunning piece of art, and one of the best, if not the best, Metroidvanias I've played.

Got tired of my regen build in Dark Souls 3 so I respecced to a Pyromancer for NG+. I'm also utilizing Lightning Arrow and Dark Edge, using Crystal chime, just because I can and they are cool spells.

But the greatest thing with this build is Demon's Greataxe, which I've never used before, and is completely awesome. It smashes things to bit and the weapon art turns everything into molten lava. Love it. I'm usually a fast two-player but turning strength has being all sorts of fun.

I switch back and forth so much these days.

Dead Nation (Vita)
Batman: Blackgate (Vita)
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Vita)
Avengers (PS4)
WWE 2K19 (PS4)
Resident Evil 6 Co-op (PS4)
Earth Defense Force 4.1 (PS4)
Assassins Creed Odyssey (PS4)

Until recently i had also been doing a lot of The Forest (PS4) and Final Fantasy XIV (PS4) but kinda taking a break from them atm.

Crash Bandicoot N. sane Trilogy.

Quite frankly, I'm astounded at the critical acclaim these games have received. Absolute toss, all three of them and about as sophisticated as a mobile phone game. And as for that thing being held aloft as as both a rival to Mario & Sonic and a console mascot, laughable.

Waste of money.

I don't think they're terrible, but they're definitely not all that compelling. I finished the first one and the new shape of the platforms was a bitch. The bridge in the sky levels were the worst because of the pill-shape platforms requiring insanely exacting jumping. I'm in the middle of #2 right now. While it looks good, it really seems like it's just a tech demo, kind of like how it was on the PSX. I don't know if the gameplay always felt so sluggish, but it definitely doesn't feel as good as some of the other more well-known platformers.

I'm using d-pad of course. Maybe I just suck at the game, but I found those last few worlds really challenging. I did manage to beat it, though!
Just finished Crash 4: It's About Time, and man, I underestimated the difficulty. After about the first three worlds, the game goes from challenging to insanely difficult, especially during the last two worlds. I was about to lose it.
And no, you don't suck, I didn't judge the game at it's entirety. My fault. xD

I like different games. Played Modern Warfare more often Warzone. I've been playing Exotanks for the last two weeks. There is very little time to play. That is why I feel like a noob and look more on the map for how to fall into a crater. From time to time I shoot at boxes and not enemies. I like to watch the explosion happen. Of course, when I will learn to play and will help the team more.

Started Tales of Vesperia. I'm still very early but so far the game is remembering me a lot of Tales of Symphonia, which os good because I really liked that game back in the day. Nice combat and good sense of humor.

The game is kicking my ass on hard tho.

PCSX2 (Playstation 2) 3xNative (1080p), miscellaneous IQ improvements - Silent Hill 2. I'm replaying the trilogy since it's been, i think .. about 8 years now. I'm instantly hooked by the sound design and the atmosphere, it's something else. I haven't played the original PS2 versions, so this is technically a first time.

PPSSPP (Playstation Portable) Native (!), Post-Processing Shader: LCD3x + PSP Color - Persona 3 Portable. Yeah, so why aren't i playing it at 10x the native resolution? Well, it depends on the game. Games that are 90% - 100% fully 3D are usually best played in 1080p with good AA. P3P though? Kind of buggy. So i'm going with native resolution, but with a good filter on top to alleviate the nature of that low resolution on my HDTV.

Not much else. I'm going to do another playthrough (New Game+) of Persona 4 Golden once i'm done with Portable. That game was something else.

I dabbled with Persona 2: Innocent Sin. Surprisingly, i gave up, though i like to think of myself as something with the patience to watch pain fully dry and have no problem. Well, there was a problem - the combat is excruciatingly slow and the random encounter rate is high as it can be - though there are skills to lower it, it doesn't change the combat.. which is excruciatingly slow. You can also skip the animations to make it go faster, but that is extraordinarily boring.

Another problem is that the game itself is piss easy, even on the highest difficulty. So, i was starring at my screen, mindlessly skipping the battle animations, and thinking "Why?" .. Nah. It was simply ridiculous to put myself through that.

In between SM3DA and Luigi's Mansion 3. Never really played LM. Didnt play it on GC and couldnt get into Dark Moon but I am enjoying 3. Game is rather slowpaced but throws something different at you with each level which keeps it engaging. Presentation is really nice with the animations and details.

Astral Chain! After slogging through a forced stealth section, it lead up to some hype moments culminating in some signature PlatinumGames goodness!!! Was hype AF and re assured me classic PlatinumGames hasn't gone anywhere. Definitely was worth firing up the Switch for the first time in months to continue that game.

I'm save scumming my way through Donkey Kong Country.

It's a brilliant game and I'm having a lot of fun with it but I think I'd be making incredibly slow progress if I didn't have the ability to quickly save whenever I wanted to.
