Been delving into the lore of Blasphemous quite a bit now. It's so good, especially with the bosses. Never thought Spanish folklore would be so captivating and surreal. I love the religious theme that runs deep through the whole game, the iconography is very disturbing and some of the backstories revolving said images are equally upsetting.
Even though much of the game is steeped in depressing scenery, it always feels hopeful, I think music conveys much of that, with its somber and melancholy vibe. The artstyle is fantastic, very evocative backdrops, cool animations, great monster design etc. It's haunting yet beautiful.
I've completed the Three Humiliations and gained access to the Mother of Mothers. I've also awakened two of the four Amanecidas, and defeated the first one. The boss fights are downright incredible. Challenging and exciting, it really gets my juices flowing.
Stir of Dawn revamps almost the entire game, adding so much cool and crazy content that I feel almost ashamed for not paying for it. It's exactly what I want from a NG+. New bosses, lore, cut scenes, animations, questlines, the whole she bang.
I fucking love this game. I think it's turning into one of my favorite of all times.
