Still with Judgment. The plot keeps getting crazier and I love it.
Also, abit tired of DOOM mods, so I decided to give Hexen another go.
Never managed to get too far, but this time I managed to beat the first hub (the seven portals) and without any walkthrough! That felt quite good. So far enjoying my time with the game.
Even if the combat is kinda meh the exploration and "eureka!" moments make up for it.

Continuing Dreamcast kick I tried to play Rayman 2. It seemed solid enough at first but it eventually annoyed me with unpolished bits and pieces here and there (and from what I understand DC is one of the best versions) like not explaining mini game controls at all, or much else, like pressing B to bring up the name of the level in the map to actually know where the f to go when you're supposed to unlock a new area after obtaining the password for it etc. (and it's still a rather obscure way to have you access new levels in anyway). Then the controls also annoyed me in some speed challenge where you have to get an orb with you from one side of the map to the other or whatever. It's doable of course but just not in a fun way. The normal combat doesn't feel too great either, easy as it may be. I doubt I'll keep at it even after beating a boss and several levels and liking some set piece stuff like when you have to ride a rocket creature thing around track-like levels. Shame because it just needed some polish to be a true 3D platforming classic and not a Mario is not available on my platform of choice "classic" as it seems to me now. Heck, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger plays better imo.

Alternating between Warzone 2's DMZ mode with the boys and Tactics Ogre Reborn in the evenings.
Tactics Ogre is so, so good. Every change (aside from the graphics) is for the better. It is the definitive version of the game.

Been playing a lot of AC Valhalla now. This game has become so good. Ubi has pushed out a ton of content since last I played and there is a good amount of variety now. I also love the setting of the old English and Irish landscapes and settlements. It helps with the immersion and alleviates some of the issues I had with Odyssey with the blatant copy and paste approach the devs had with that game. Valhalla feels way more original.
But it was cool to see a cross over between Valhalla and Odyssey, and despite being a short adventure, it was sweet and to the point. It had some references to Odyssey that I picked up on and even got the spear of Leonidas, which I dual wield with the Gae Bolg for maximum amount of wreckage.
I still have a lot of issues with Ubi and their disgusting use of mtx and boosters they sell at the store. The coolest armor sets and weapons are of course locked behind expensive pay walls. But at least now they have put plenty of good looking weapons and armor in the game as well with all the content they produced for the game.

Ghosts n' Goblins Resurrection.
No thanks, not my idea of fun. Maybe 35 years ago on the nes but I like my games a little more relaxed as I fast approach middle-age. Fortunately I was able to blag a refund through Steam.
Super Ghouls n' Ghosts and Ultimate Ghosts n' Goblins are still the best in the series imo. Challenging but not punishing.

God of War (1) on PS+ Premium. Horrible image quality aside, the input lag isn't too bad and is fairly good experience. Outside a few stutters here and there.
Not played the origional in years so thought I'd pick it up again starting from the first, and I was craving some more GoW after completing Ragnarok.
But yeah, enjoying it so far. Bar the annoying timed puzzles and some dodgy platforming. The combat while simple, is fun and addictive albiet a little repetitive at times.

Been a gamer since the 80s and ALWAYS heard how revered this game is. All I can say....the MUSIC is incredible! And the difficulty ramped up a bit when you get to the inverted castle/map. I'm having a blast playing this!

DMC1: The plan this time, and with RE4 as well, is to replay them both in a Normal mode playthrough, and then their Hard modes. Right now I played a chunk of DMC1, it was nostalgic fun! :] Game still feels so new to me, even though I played the shit out of it...I can still feel the innovation and freshness of this game long after it released

I’m flitting between so many games right now but most of the time is spent on CP2077 and God of War Ragnarok. Getting reacclimatised with Witcher 3 before the update next month too.

Just finished up Plague Tale Requiem. I'll probably start Somerville next.
Plague Tale Requiem is solid, I'd definitely give it a look if you've been on the fence about it. My only critique would be that the last parts of the game start leaning to heavy on cinematics over gameplay.

Tactics Ogre Reborn, at first I was hesitant on new changes like card system but so far I'm LOVING this game.
If this game wasn't remaster/port of old game, it would have been my GOTY no question.
Also glad I bought this on my Switch, playing SRPG on portable is ideal.

Some CoD 3rd person moshpit, and still making my way through Shining In the Darkness and Shining Force CD book 2. In SitD I made it to the Trial of Truth. It's getting harder in the dungeon with spinning floor tiles and having a very limited inventory. Almost survival horror like. I love the gfx in it, lovely details.

As for games that really exist, well, lately the monitor I got like five months back up and died on me. I sent it off for repair but decided to take the opportunity for an upgrade so I got a Samsung Odyssey G7. It pwns and I've been replaying a few games:
- FEAR. It's a really good test for contrast and possibly my favourite FPS campaign ever. Playing it at 240FPS (rendered at 4K and downscaled) is sick. It was basically unplayable on the aforementioned busted IPS monitor so I'm really happy to enjoy it again
- Resident Evil 2 Remake. Wanted to try out the ray-tracing and this is one of my fav games as well... the final section of the game is a drag though
- Doom (2016). Probably the smoothest-running game that still looks great. I tried playing some Eternal prior but that game sucks ass whereas this is pretty great.
I also finished some indie horror games I had from Halloween
- Murder House is kind of a half-baked horror game set in a house where it appears the central mechanic is about hiding, except you never really have to do that outside of a couple of scripted sequences. Feels a lot like the creator couldn't actually do the game part.
- Night at the Gates of Hell is a surprisingly decent action horror game. You can't interact with things while your gun is held and, when it is held, you can't hit enemies accurately without aiming down the sight. As a result you have to consider several levels of ability as you move through the levels, and the game isn't afraid to suddenly throw zombies at you. The Coastal Village level is a highlight.

Yup! I love the contradiction between the violent action and the clothes they’re wearing. A really subtle way of showing how their normal lives have been interrupted rather than the events being something they sought.

Finished Judgment last night.
Some of it's aspects are worse than the Yakuza games, mainly the minigames and sidecontent. I didn't enjoy either the VR game or the dron racing too much tbh, and the batting center was easy as fuck thanks to the golden bat
Everything else? Fucking great.
Loved the combat, it's harder than the Yakuza games imo, specially thanks to some enemies being able to reduce your maximun health and even some bosses having attacks that felt like a one-hit kill. Being able to step on the walls and climb on enemies was also a cool plus. In the end it felt like they did with Yagami everything they couldn't with Kiryu: lots of fast attacks and nimble movements.
The side stories are also great. I had the feel that this one might be more serious than the Yakuza games, and it is when it comes to it's main story, but the side stories are very fun just like they were in the main series. Loved the ones about those twins and the perverts, and of course the one about Ono Michio. Also enjoyed that thing about making friends in Kamurocho and helping then with their stuff, quite the fun diversion.
Main story is also great, probably among the best in the whole series. Imo it's both written and delivered much better than most Yakuza games.
All in all quite happy with having been able to finally play this on the PC, and here's hoping RGG keeps this saga alive.

Something that was really great was how each part of the game's major sections brought a fresh experience to the table. The doll house was one of my favourite bits. Really creepy, and in parts downright terrifying.
Now playing Stray, but will return to RE8 afterwards to try out New Game+.

Getting close to finishing Hexen, currently at the Necropolis. Things are getting harder and I'm dying quite often because of traps or enemies, but I'm making progress.
Love the sprite work in this game. I think my favorite enemies are those mages in blue robes, love both their attack and death animations.

Pulled the trigger and got PS Extra as I was going to buy Spiderman Miles Morales, Demon Souls remake and Returnal on sale and realized with PS Plus and the cost of all those games, it would be more then extra lol I really wish Target had that sale for a bit longer for the buy 2 get 1 free lol, but everything happens for a reason and I'm sure I saved a lot of money just getting Extra as I don't even know how much of those games I'll even play a second time lol

My December opened up pretty quick once I cancelled that Calisto pre-order lol
