Currently playing Final Fantasy VII for the first time on PS3. I watched my friend play bits and pieces of it all the way back in like '98, but I don't remember much. I'm at the part where you escape out of the church with Aerith. So, about 2 hours in. I'm amazed at how quickly this game drew me in compared to Grandia, which I started earlier this week.

For some reason , I've got an itch for platinums , i just got the Platinum trophy for the base game of the Witcher 3 ( took over a month ) and over the weekend i started with Shadow of the Colossus ( its still an absolute wonderful game ) , the remastered job done by Bluepoint is excellent.

Final boss in Sekiro is ridiculously hard. I´m getting to his third phase now with no problems but then it´s like hitting a brick wall. His attacks builds up so much posture and he is unpredictable with his swipes. Gonna be a rough ride this one. Well, practice makes perfect.

Tomb Raider 2013, thanks to the guy who made the Yamatai Patch that removes the camera wobble while walking. I played this game when it came out but had to stop because of extreme motion sickness. It plays and looks really good for a 6 year old game.

I still love FFVII, but I hate the analog stick boosts. They're always right there and way too difficult to NOT use.

If I'm about to lose a fight, I can just take the L and lose any progress I've made OR I can click one button and just become invincible and get the easy win. Once I do that, leveling up seems pointless, so just turn off random battles. Now, that animation of climbing the ladder is messing up my pace, so, bam 3x speed all the time. Before I know it, the game is just a series of sprints to cut scenes I've seen dozens of times and the experience feels a bit pointless.

But, still, the story, characters, world and music still make it worthwhile. I would have preferred the boost options had to be turned on from the main game screen at least. It's way too difficult for me not to abuse them otherwise.
Wait, they made one of, if not the, easiest FF games even easier?

Me trying to get the "amazing" ranking for the taskmaster challenges in Spider-Man.

On the plus side though the side quest chain for
the tombstone quest line was really awesome and that boss fight was really well done.
Exceptional for a side quest. Hell it was just really superb anyways. Despite the odd difficulty jump in some of the taskmaster challenges I'm still loving it. I wish I had finished it in 2018 because even though I loved God of War this would have totally been my 2018 goty.

I just quit playing Oblivion, unfortunately. I was escorting Martin from Kvatch but he wouldn't ride with me on my horse and it was completely boring to take him from Kvatch to Weynon Priory :messenger_downcast_sweat::messenger_downcast_sweat::messenger_downcast_sweat: he keeps on getting unconscious and I just got sick of it. I really love the world and lore of the game. The RPG mechanics are fantastic and it's my first Elder Scrolls game. Can someone give me a tip on how to fix this issue with Martin?

Edit: I figured out how to solve the issue: Fast travel to the destination! Now I'm in the Burma Mountains with my Blades guild ready to head to Imperial City to speak to Bauren about the amulet.

R6: Siege and recently Apex Legends are in my daily routine. But out of those currently playing World War Z and having a blast. Didn’t have this game in mind at all and bought it blindly thanks to the lads

As a first time player, it's alright for me. I never accidentally press them and only use x3 speed as a pair of running shoes. Ultimately no random encounters is going to fuck yo shit up in the long run so it's not worth using... ever.

My one major complaint with the controls is that the Switch's thumbstick is way too bloody sensitive. I've accidentally changed battle formation instead of attacking quite a few times.

Tried "Assassin's Creed Unity" yesterday and while it really is damn beautiful, those bugs are a plenty and sometimes game breaking. What a shame.

TOV remaster (my first Tales game and I like it very much so far)
WD2 (for like a 6 months now, slow progress...)
Dishonored 2

And maybe ACO DLC once it launches

My Time At Portia for the Switch. I'm really loving it. There's a lot to learn and I feel stupid for not realizing certain things but it's a really nice game and fun and a little bit different than the "Harvest moon and SDV ripoffs"

The PS4 Version suffers from the same problem. You press a button once, but the game acts as if you pressed the button twice. Same for inputs with the sticks. Square really did not a great job with the "remaster" versions. The music on the world map also resets after each battle and on top of that they added these cheat-options you mentioned. I wouldn't mind them, if I at least could turn them off in the menu, but them always being only one button press away somehow rubs me the wrong way.

Katana ZERO. To paraphrase abstract alien abstract alien from the de facto thread - this game executes beautifully on what it sets out to do. It's a confident vision through a neon kaleidoscope of the cold war sci-fi dystopias of the 80's with the neo-noir mindfuckery of the 00's.
The gameplay alone would do it for me, but the whole package is pitch perfect.
Story in action games is usually something ornamental at best, and something I hope stays out of the way, but Katana Zero has me engaged throughout. A clever dialogue system keeps the 'action' up throughout and enhances the tension.

Call of Duty Blackout: if you like BR with COD guns, graphics and weapons this is the game for you. Easily my favorite along with Fortnite.

Sekiro:just beat it :) and on my second play through. Samurai, Shinobi games usually sit well with me. It's a FromSoft game with the difficulty abd bad ass bosses you expect. Looks good and controls really well. Definitely a great game.

Soon will be playing "Days Gone"

Just finished System Shock 2 for the first time. It's hard. A few occasions reminded me how much I take frequent auto saving for granted. Shodan was an incredible antagonist and I hope they don't mess with her too much in the remake. There are a few QoL improvements they can make to streamline the experience ever so slightly but I'll absolutely play it again when the remake finally gets released. In fact, I'm really looking forward to it now.

Definitely a bit of a sloppy job, although I'm happy to have these remasters as it means getting to play classics on new systems.

I've changed my mind since about not using the cheats. I'm right at the end of the game and the standard end-game JRPG feeling of 'fucking hell can't this just be over yet' most definitely has set in. Scold me all you want but I'm happily using x3 to grind for the final boss right now.

Playing XIII on my PS2 right now.

Man, I really miss these kind of games. You know, where you have both stealth and action levels tailored to each approach. I think the levels just worked so much better back then compared to today where you have this "approach as you like" way all over the place. Sure, it makes the games much less replayable but the gameplay is just sooooo much more fun. Enjoying the heck out of this. Checkpoints can be a bit punishing but after multiple playthroughs of Dark Souls this is a piece of cake.

Shame such games aren't really made any more. Let's see how the Remake turns out.

XIII was an interesting game thenb design-wise z I was wondering how it would play today when they announced the remake.

As long as DD is still voice actor, it's at least at 'wish list' status.

Still trying to choke down farcry 5. I really wanna get the platinum by friday before days gone but jesus its like this game never ends. Definitely will unfortunately be my last far cry unless they return to what made 3 so good this one just feels super meh to me.

Continuing through my first play through of RE6, I'm on the 4th chapter for Chris, already finished Leon's campaign.

The game is so ridiculous, at one point I'm in this boss battle against a giant invisible snake that's actually a kinda cool boss fight. Then I'm driving a humvee in a super jank car chase sequence with someone manning a turret.

Game is so all over the place.

Mortal Kombat 11- Goingn through the tutorials now.

Yoshi’s Crafted World-slowlychipping away at it, pretty underwhelming.

Anthem-mostly bored with it now, but still play a little with a friend as the combat is so fun.

I need to play Spider-Man, Devil May Cry 5, and Dragon Quest XI, but I have been putting them off. Sekiro sidetracked me there for a while, so I blame that. Lol.

Mortal Kombat 11 (PC) - First 4 Chapters of the Story Mode and a little bit of Kontentbrowsing... Well, the servers for always online (in the single player parts! - Krypt, Kustomization etc.) are shit and broke down several times. At least I lost no progress, but man, fuck this stupid shit. 12 different currencies, consumables (???), "forging"... yeah, why exactly is this not a F2P-title?

Game itself plays really nice but the transitions from 60fps gameplay to 30fps everything else are still fucking jarring. At least my good old 980Ti seems to handle the game on very high/ ultra good enough.

:D That it is. Wait until you get to Jake's campaign (ironically one of the best, but most different for RE). I enjoyed the hell out of a lot of it, in spite all the crap it received from press. Still my favorite Mercs to date.

Started Fallout: New Vegas tonight. I bought a second hand copy for the 360 a few years after it came out but there was a tiny little crack on the inside of the disc and it just didn't work. Bought it on Steam a couple of years ago and just never got round to playing it until now. Only about an hour or so in but I've already gotten a couple of chuckles at the dialogue options. So far, so good. Although it doesn't seem to run as well as I'd expected.

Found a used copy of Ys 8 (Ps4) at a Gamestop which I dropped by at whim (in... 5 years?) - sound track CD was rather damaged, but the bluray itself was quite good. (It says day1 edition)

Although I finished Ys 8 on Vita a few months ago, I wanted to revisit the game - so I'm playing though it now. Seeing it in 4k, 60fps - it makes things a lot more enjoyable - along with the added PC/PS4 exclusive Dana dungeon is pretty nice too!

Perhaps one of the weirdest combinations I've played so far. GTA: Liberty City Stories (PS2) on a 24 inch monitor and Uncharted 3 (PS4) on my OLED. Putting the IQ aside the framerate is differences are killing me. GTA is like 15-20 fps with dips on the PS2 and Uncharted 3 is smooth 60 fps.

Last night when I switched from GTA after a few missions to Uncharted I started to feel dizzy, no joke. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Still, I'm enjoying GTA more than expected. I set myself to play all GTA past 3 this years (even 1+2 if I can get the PSone version for an acceptable price) and after the original GTA3 left a bit of a lukewarm impression (it just hasn't aged well) Chinatown Wars totally blew me away - and Liberty City Stories seems to follow in these footsteps. I am struggling a bit with the controls and said framerate but the writing and missions are bloody hilarious. Rockstar's amazing!
