What game are you currently playing?

It's ok you have to be a fan of the series to enjoy it IMO for 5 buck you can't go wrong lol
Sounds great. Only watched the first movie but I really liked it, even rewatched it a few times. Never bothered with the sequels, heard they were more infantile.

A Plague Tale Requiem (PC) - so far a pretty good sequel

Bayonetta (Wii U) - about halfway through, it's great but I kinda suck at this game

Phoenix Wright 3 (2DS) - it's taking me ages to finish because it makes me fall asleep pretty fast when playing in bed

Gravity Rush 2 (PS4 Pro) - it's a joy to play but I don't feel compelled to play it often

Zelda TotK (Switch Lite) - I'm really tired of the Breath of the Wild formula, not sure if I'll finish this game

I just hope the next Zelda game will be different to the Breath of the Wild formula, maybe even like Ocarina again.

No Man's Sky on the Switch 2

How is it? It's back on sale. I remember playing wayyyy back at launch on PS4, I had a decent time with it for a while but got bored eventually. Obviously there's been probably a dozen major updates since then, thinking about grabbing it since it looks like they've done some great work on this upgrade.-

It's cool. It's still the same game, but a lot of things have been streamlined. Combat is still dogshit. But the sense of exploration is still the driving force. There are some performance issues, but I'd say they're worth it for how good it looks on the Switch 2.

Playing some The Thing Remastered.

Such a good game, very basic story but an incredibly easy to pick up and play game, also a genuine sequel to the movie per Carpenter. So there's that.

I started this one today, Binary Domain, a 2012 game. People speak really highly of it, so I decided to download it and give it a try. So far it's a good game.

The character affinity system plays a much bigger role than the game may lead you to believe.

Solid shooter and a better than expected story, have fun!

Replaying original Doom games. Now I'm with the Final Doom's second campaign, Plutonia Experiment. In another words, the home of revenants, archviles and chaingunners (well, the second home for the later, after Tnt Evilution).

As it was free, I just started Cyberpunk on my base PS4. Without the upgrades, without traffic or pedestrians, but with two full crashes already 😍
I know it's the worst way to play it, but alone from the setting and the possibilities I can see that it's a great game.

Finally got Alan Wake 2. It dropped to its lowest price $30 and knew it was time to finally play this one. Game is one of the generations best looking games. Playing this on the deck sure is an experience.

Finished Crime Scene Cleaner. Just like all these games like Powerwash Sim, this can be one addictive time-sink. Terrible VA and tons of referential humour that mostly misses by a wide margin but I had tons of fun cleaning up blood off the walls and finding all kinds of secrets, etc.

So rn I'm in Wife's studio and I'm kicken it with shadow of the ninja. Its hard but getting the hang of the controls is satisfying enough and does inch me forward in the game. Has a very genuine arcade feel.

A few months ago, I finally decided I could try out my idea of the best portable setup. I have here a tablet. Not a gaming tablet just some run of the mill dell with an old i7. I have that, a switch pro controller, and a power bank about the size of a soda can.

I really like a property small old portable like a ngpc or GBA sp. Those are nice to take out, but you have to build a separate library and really good games worth more than novelty are thin on the ground, imo.

The switch's size and battery life make it a whole different and inconvenient class than truly compact portables. A significantly larger steam deck is even deeper into that territory.

But the library is very good, and the tabletop mode is pretty nice. In the right situation, it's kinda great. I am much more likely to come up on a situation where I am comfortable to settle in for a meatier game. Like in a hotel. Or right now.

The most I've ever games on a portable out of the house was actually on a netbook I had. Playing avernum and magic carpet and emulators. Helped that it was dual purpose and had good battery life. That was a long time ago.

So this tablet's display is much larger than the switch but not all that harder to pack around considering neither fit in a pocket. The larger size makes it much easier to find a good spot for it. The controller and battery are extra to pack along, but the battery is a luxury that the switch could use, too. So The controller tends to fit wherever I manage to fit one of these devices anyhow.

And it has my steam library. Tablet+controller+power supply. Makes sense right now and hopefully will be the portable setup I always wanted

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Easily GOTY so far and I don't really see anything coming the rest of the year that would come close to it. It's an instant classic and has a better story and music than almost anything that I can think of. Characters are amazing as well. Been gaming for over 35 years and this is one of the best.

Everspace 2

This game has got a lot of issues - unbalanced difficulty (with huge spikes, throughout); uninteresting characters; boring story; a lack of hints when it comes to some puzzles, etc; a lack of fast travel; slow levelling up ...

A shame. From what I gather looking at the Steam discussions, the devs flip flopped on a lot of ideas during Early Access, and it's left the game in what feels like an incoherent state. I'm going to play on through to the end, but will immediately drop when I'm done.

The Karate Kid: Street Rumble

Kinda simplistic beat'em up with a retro vibe, Surprisingly addictive, I like the old movies and they've addes some simple story bits into it all. I like it. Got it cheap at the Xbox sale, play anywhere so playing on PC.

Approaching the end now in System Shock 2.

Truly one of the GOAT. Progression is a bit wild though. At first you start with next to no ammo, then for large parts of the game your inventory is overflowing and then in the end you are back to squat ammo. I'm at a point where I can't even find Replicators to buy ammo. It's wild...

Splinter Cell 2002 on Series X.
It was due for a replay after 20 years. So good, frustrating at times but can't put it down. It still plays beautifully, the graphics are crisp on 4K TV, art direction fantastic with light and shadows, rain, the OST is perfect.
And above all, its simply cool. There's nothing like it nowadays.

Donkey Kong Bananza
Symphonia
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4
Crypt Custodian
Rise of Kong
Johnny Trigger

After I catch up on most of these, I'll have to pick a new big game. Likely Stalker 2.

I just finished Jusant, nice ps+ game but forgottable. Nothing new here.

Actually i'm playing Sable and Death Stranding. Yes, it's backlog time 🙂

The first is, technically, one of the worst game i played since years. The framerate drops are awfull (despite the game is really slow) the bugs are legion, animations are outdated (maybe a tribute to the Ps2 era) …
But the art style is really great, and as a fan of Moebius, it encourages me to persevere.

The second is a good game without fun. It's graphically great, the story and the gameplay are really good, but i don't think i'll finished it. Walking is so booorrring.

Still playing Pokémon, I really like what they did with random encounters, the ride is fun as well, and its openworldness makes it a far better experience than my previous game which was UltraMoon (besides Diamond remake which I really liked)

Finished Kingdom Come 2 with 140h and the only bad thing is that it ended. Loved it, this time the combat clicked with me and i was always excited to challenge anyone to a brawl or a sword fight. Never finished the 1st one because i hated the combat, but im glad i gave the second game a chance cuz is now one of my favorite western RPGs, maybe only behind Witcher 3.

Started playing Persona 3 Reload, and im surprized by how little i remember of this game. P3 was the 1st Persona game i played, back on the PS2, and outside of certain main story things and the main character, i barelly remember anything about the game, so almost feels playing a new Persona game. Its weird cuz i played P4 around the same time and i still remember alot of things about P4.

Mario Kart World

In Grand Prix I have 3 stars on Mushroom Cup, Shell Cup, Banana Cup.
Flower, Star, Leaf cups are giving me trouble.
I'm about to try Lightning Cup.

Setup has been Mario + Baby Blooper kart, mixing in some other characters like Daisy and Wario.
There is a motorcycle that I guess I haven't unlocked yet. It is probably unlocked after a stupid Kamek character. I still need those.

Still playing Rimworld + Odyssey. On the final stage of the DLC, fighting the endgame enemies and trying to wipe them out from the planet. Kidneys have been destroyed, lungs exploded and most of my space dudes miss a finger or two or three, but it still seems doable lmao, specially since I can extract materials from butchering the enemy robots to turn them into turrets to defend my ship.

ThiNzlQosCDyw4wZ.png

They did a good job with the DLC imo. I would have loved for the enemies to have their own gravships and engage with them in space battle, but aside from that the new content is worth a lot of hours of gameplay. I'm already thinking of starting a new playthrough, this times with lots of mods for even more content.

Went through Death Stranding Director's Cut again because I don't have a ps5 for DS2, ended up thinking I had overrated the game the first time. It does do something novel but to be honest the majority of the game is story and down-time. There's no point to actually walking and placing ladders or structures, the trike solves every problem. To me the game is poorly designed, why do you have to skip like 5 cutscenes every time you go to a private room, or when you shower, or when you do almost anything? I think you have to dig too much to get to the "good" parts of the game and when you do they're short-lived. It's a game I like in concept but for me it doesn't really work as a videogame.

Otherwise, still playing Nightreign. I think it's great and so much better than I expected.

How is it on the Deck?
It's great but I do play via gfn. It's a great game to play on deck. Especially when on the planning board part of the game where the text is small to read. I'm really enjoying this game and wasn't a fan of the first as much. I love that it's not all about action and is mostly an adventure detective type of game.

I been meaning to get this, as I actually enjoyed and beat the first. I realize they went more detective style this time and that is fine.

Maneater

Super satisfying to play albeit very checklist, repetitive world. The concept is fun, the mutations are cool, devouring humans is very satisfying, underwater graphics look great and the progression system is addicting. Planning to 100%.

The Gunk

Very decent indie that's more or less cleaning simulator, light combat but lush visuals. Insufferable dialogue and VA so I just muted it. Small indie title that I also look to 100%.

SteamWorld Build

Never played this genre but shits interesting and relaxing. This is a simple, city sim, builder for first timers. I'll enjoying it. Nitpick: UI font/size is small and the sliders in the settings don't do anything.

Far Cry 3

Replaying as Steam achievements were added so going for that 100%, thankfully Ubisoft removed MP achievements so it's going smooth, very fun game, super enjoyable.

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor

Replaying as when it launched I had played this on a shitty laptop and I don't think I completed it fully. Now playing it max, full glory. Super responsive combat and just genuinely fun. Feels like pouring one for Monolith.

It's at its cheapest price now that I've seen it. Knew it was time to finally dive in. Such an incredible looking game. Definitely one of the best of the generation visually.

Hollow Knight

I'm so proud of myself, stepped over the 100% completion line today and got the achievement for it! 💪

In theory you can go up to 112% but that means doing speed runs so not really anything I want to do.

I still have Radiance to beat, I've done the delicate flower quest and the two boss challenge phanteons needed to deliver the clower to godseeker for a new ending.

I managed to finally finish off:
  • Hellslave (PC)
  • Tyranny (PC)
Hellslave is an interesting indie dungeon crawler. Some of the artwork is great, some less so. I liked it overall - took about 9-10 hours. Tyranny is an amazing obsidian crpg - I would need multiple replays to see everything and use all the characters in my party etc. Very interesting world building and a very good story that sort of just wraps up far too quickly (almost as if they had to push it out so snipped off the rest of the act and released what they had).

Now I'm working through:
  • Wartales (PC)
  • Trails through daybreak 2 (PS5)
  • Expedition 33 (PS5)
