What game are you currently playing?

I've finished Shadowrun Returns for the first time (played it before, but abandoned it at some point) and sadly it's quite broken on the consoles (played on PS5). Apparently the studio responsible for console ports made a terrible job. I had stuff like 2 of my team members becoming inactive or the game getting stuck in a loop when trying to save. It's a shame, because I enjoyed turn-based combat, the main investigation was interesting and I also really liked the atmosphere.

I'm thinking I should finally go ahead and format the PS Vita I brought last year, in order to make some progress on actually using it proper, instead of the system still being tied to the former owner of it...so frustrating, as the person did have some good pre-installed titles on it, like Virtua Tennis, but looks like I'll have to buy that instead...

currently playing ff7 rebirth, just got to chapter 10, great game but getting a little tired of the open world stuff. Gongaga was a nightmare to get around in, but everything has been an awesome experience so far, alot better than part 1.

I've been on a retro-tear lately. Recently finished up Phantasy Star 2 (Genesis) for the first time, which I really enjoyed, warts and all. Now that that one is finished, the rotation is Shining in the Darkness (Genesis), Shining Force (Genesis), Street Fighter Alpha 2 (Saturn), a little Tetris (NES), and some sprinkling of Sonic the Hedgehog (Genesis) with my son. Having a really great time with all these.

Finished Resident Evil 2 (1998) Claire scenario. An absolute classic. Probably my favorite of the old school Resi games, with the original and Code Veronica not far behind. Played it on GOG and they have done an exceptional job bringing it to PC. Looks and runs great, completely uncensored and unchanged, with door sequences skippable, which improves the pacing and general smoothness of the gameplay. Now I only have Nemesis left of the OG trilogy to complete.

Did my first few hours with Clair Obscure.

What is this? Feels like a long lost Final Fantasy from the 00s. No, I'm not crying.

Jokes aside, this game is legit. It only makes me miss the good old days where you had a booklet with some lore for the world. I feel a bit overwhelmed with the entire world and all the characters. I don't wanna go and sift through YT. There should be more info ingame .

So desiring portability I finally tried Unicorn Overlord on the Switch and.... I mostly like it. I'm about 10 hours in but honestly and surprisingly not really feeling compelled to carry on with the game. Not sure, it's fine and solid but just not really hooking me for some reason.

Started Expedition 33 and while some visual jank going on (Ps5), I don't care about that. Combat seems great, love the visual style of combat, the small camera changes and whatnot do a lot. Love the turn based so far. Not far at all though. Just wish this was on Switch 2 so I could so easily start, stop, continue, etc anywhere or dock.

CrossCode

I'm about two hours in and while I think the art is beautiful and combat fun, it really needs to get into gear because it's been burying me in tutorials, systems and shit to read for too long.

I also really dislike the meta thing Indie devs love to do and it's becoming a pet peeve of mine. Do cliche video game thing and then have a character comment on it with some "clever" quip. I'm also not sold on the weird "you're in an MMO" idea, more meta video game this and that quips. My bad though, I should've read up on it, I just bought it basically blind after seeing some posts here.

I hope it gets going because it has a lot of potential so far.

I am TRASH at this BF6 beta. (I am stubborn so I tried it again lol)

Mechanically it gets going decently quickly, the first dungeon is massive with lots of puzzles, too massive maybe.

Story-wise it gets a long while to truly get going. But it's on purpose. I would recommend to persevere if you enjoy some part of it, we don't get many of action adventure games in this style (like the good old action JRPG of the SNES era).

Going through my backlog on the Switch 1 since my kids have claimed the Switch 2 for themselves. Started Bomber Crew and I'm really enjoying it. It's a bit like WW2 F.T.L.

LTTP I just got my first ending on Cyberpunk 2077. Now currently playing Phantom Liberty.
A bit repetitive in the mission structure. But the whole world building makes up for that. At least it's not as bloated as Ubi Soft games. Although I would have wished to continue on some missions like the one for the politicians. That was a great mystery that somehow got nowhere.

Yesterday I tried out the unicycle game on the SNES for the first time (via the Wii) and the very first Super Bomberman game released on the SNES, with the unicycle game it certainly was something different and takes getting used to, especially to win a race, as you have no map to go on, and sometimes you flip directions quickly..

Tank and IFV battles in BF6 beta are so addictive and brutal battles using those are so satisfying. Playing Bf6 beta now with my brothers and I will just continue with my playthrough of Death stranding 2 later tonight. Two fun and addictive games at the same time after church. Very good weekend.

Finished Mouthwashing and what the hell did I just play!

Anyway, Submerged: Hidden Depths was the perfect follow-up. So relaxing. Very short if you just focus on the main story (and I'm using "story" very loosely here).

Currently on Quantum Break, Act 2. Those long movie-style cutscenes though…

Conscript. I got this super cheap (~80%) off as already own Black Mesa. I'm around 3 hours in and I'm kinda digging it, playing it in easy with infinite saves and checkpoints because this game has a LOT of backtracking and sometimes unfair world path geometry that can set you hours back your playthrough. Incredible artwork, atmosphere and sound design though. Very, very RE inspired, like bruh crafting, merchant straight up RE lol.

If you want to buy this, get this bundle, it's cheaper.

This game "9Kings" is pretty solid. It's in early access, but basically you start with a 3x3 plot and you have a selection of a certain amount of "kings" or playstyles. Each king has a deck of cards they draw from and you get a new card each round, placing them on the tiles for different effects (units/turrets/buffs/etc). Each round, your built army attacks an attacking army, then next round or "year". As you level your "king" via matches, you unlock permanent perks or skills basically. You unlock the other kings through other criteria. If, for example, the King of Greed attacks you, upon beating him that round/year, you get to choose 1 of 3 cards from his deck, so you in the end you want to deploy a hybrid play of many different cards from other decks, because they can synergize.

Surprisingly cool game, wish it was finished and not in early access. Available on Gamepass currently.

This reminds me I need to finish it. Have been playing for 10-12 hours but not on easy so I do lose some progress when dying stupidly, but great game.

Corner Shop: Nightshift (demo)
I was scouring the horror section on steam and saw the demo for this and thought "That looks quite unique." You work in a small corner ship. Gotta stock the shelves, mop the floors, order stock, empty the bins, and serve customers. Once you've done all this your shift ends and you head back to your apartment. The next shift is scarier and all sorts of weird things start to occur. I really enjoyed the demo and I think I'll pick it up when it releases in November.

Order 13
You work in a warehouse at night. Print off an order and then you have to go and find said order. I've seen a few things skulking around as I go to find the order, and there's plenty of noises such as things falling in the distance, but I haven't been attacked by anything...yet! Once back inside your little safe room, you put the item into a cardboard box, fill it with packing foam, stick a label on it, dispatch and then you get some money, money which can then be spent on items that make your life easier like a handheld scanner or a flashlight. Nice idea and executed to a decent degree. You also get a pet cat that keeps you company in your safe room.

True Fear: Forsaken Souls Part 1
I haven't played that many adventure/hidden object type games, but I really enjoy the genre, particularly if they have horror elements or themes. For a game of its type, it's actually quite creepy. Great sound design and artwork. I also really like the setting.

It's my birthday today so I've bought some more horror games from my Steam wishlist with the money I got as a gift. I've bought Signalis and Dreams from the Witchouse. Thinking about buying Hollowbody, too.

Playing through Zombi (the PS4/XBO port of ZombiU) on PS5.

For some reason I've had this in my library for about a decade but never really played it. I don't even remember when I bought it.

The game itself is fine, it's like a slower paced Dying Light with more emphasis on survival horror over resources or action. Damn shame this doens't have a 60fps mode, stuck at 1080p/30.

The visuals look decent for a WiiU up-conversion, the game uses a lot of tinted post-process which gives it a very 28 Days Later style VHS visual flare.

Thanks for this. Been eyeing this for a while, own black mesa so no brainer at that price

Juggling like a juggalo as always:
-System Shock Remake
-MGS2 on PS5
-Gradius Collection
-Guilty Gear Strive
-Earthion
-UFO50
-Smash Ultimate
-Age of Empires 2 on PS5

SSR I like but don't love so far. Going to push it a level or two more to see if I stick with it or not.

Strive I'm trying to get over my queue up for ranked anxiety I've developed the last few years for competitive games. Never had this issue. I finally queued up for 30+ minutes trying anything I could to get a match on my ps5, and had no luck on floor 7-9 to get an opponent. The game is dead on ps5 for me.

Earthion is amazing. UFO50 is incredible. Buy these games people!

Still playing Civilization 6 but man loosing two cities to an enemy is soooo frustrating. I didn't know a Civilization game would be so unhealthy for me.

It's a weird experience so far. I like every aspect in theory. This type of game is my shit. Yet something isn't clicking for me even after five hours or so now. It's the formula I want but it feels overly busy and convoluted. Each area/screen is huge, the fights are so spongey (and I've definitely gotten good gear and grinded some etc.) and the combat feels almost too much to me.

I just arrived in Bergen and I felt exhausted lol. It reminds me of Hollow Knight so far where every element of a good formula is stretched to its breaking point for me.

Back to nothing until Lost Soul Aside, I guess. I want to play more MKW but I don't want to play games like that alone anymore. It's too lonely.

After that, I'm waiting in agony for Ninja Gaiden 4.

I quit Shadow Labyrinth 95% of the way in because on the final area I can't beat these mandatory mini games with awful controls. So I just moved on. I started another Metroidvania The Devil Within: Satgat. He's ok so far. Not my favorite, but solid. Has some style. Will be sticking with this for the time being. Need time to kill before some major releases in the coming weeks.

Continuing from this, the game has some good atmosphere in places.

Overall, very janky and lots of glitches and shit but a fun time.

Currently playing Horizon Zero Dawn remastered on PS5 Pro and loving it.
What a great story and the graphics are incredible, I'll never understand the hate this story gets.

Decided to re-download Battlefield 1 on the PS5 after the clusterfuck of the BF6 beta. There was one active server and the host had decided to disable all weapons except for one sniper rifle on all classes 😒 Quickly uninstalled.
The new Wildcard mode on Apex is very good. I've been playing the game since it first came out but something always seemed off with the netcode but it seems to have finally been fixed with this mode and I'm getting double figure kills every match. It's revitalised the game for me tbh.

Zelda TOTK Switch 2 Edition, more or less at the beginning (at the bird people area).
When I'm done gonna play Xenoblade Chronicles X on the Switch 2.

Yeah, two gigantic long ass games.

Finishing Larry 7
Going to start Blood Omen, since I got Soul Reaver Remastered for 4€, and it seems it's pointless to play that without playing the previous game.

SERIES X
Crew Motorfest
Halo Infinite multiplayer
Battlefield 2042
Gears of War 5 (2nd play through)

PS5 PRO
Horizon Forbidden West (2nd play through)

PC
Dune Awakening
Steel Division 2
