What game are you currently playing?

I didn't see a good place for this but the ps plus essential games this month...fucking stsrdew valley?!? Its a great game that is super cheap and been out forever.

They aren't even trying with the monthly selections any more

Prey
What. A. Game. I've played about three hours. The game gives you so much fun stuff in the opening hour or so. One of the few games that tells you that you can play any way you want and actually means it. I think I'm going to be a bit boring and use those mods to give myself more health and stamina with a few points in engineering. Love the setting and level design.

One more convert to Immersive Sims. Always warms my heart.

Welcome brother. *hug*

After playing it (on and off) for what felt like at least 6 months, me and my 9 year old daughter finally finished Split Fiction. She is not really a gamer, her experience with video games is pretty much Minecraft on ipad and It takes two so I'm proud of her getting past game's harder sections and let's be honest - the game is at least twice as hard as It Takes Two. Most of my friends gave up on Split Fiction, because their wives, kids or girlfriends found the game too hard. I liked the game overall, especially the trippy parts in the last stretch, but some segments are a bit needlessly dragged out. 7.5/10, I think.

This is true, there's no way my wife could've played.

Father Time gave me a good nudge though when there were parts my 10 year old son was easily clearing that I struggled with. At least I was still better than him at the puzzles :pie_crying:

By that point in the game my team was absolutely broken powerful and I was pretty much steamrolling through the game on Hard difficulty. I was following Werglias's build for most character and making slight alterations when need be. For Idira I put her in Biomancy. Then I gave her the new archetype thats gets access to that psyber Raven. That raven being able to buff the whole party with her abilities vs targeting a single ally makes her extremely powerful. The Biomancy abilities are great. One thing the game doesn't talk about is you can raise up downed allies. The way I found out is there is a Biomancy staff that drains an enemy and gives the health to the lowest health ally. That will raise a downed ally. Cassia, Argenta, and Kibellah were doing massive damage. I gave Argenta a Flamer. Found it way more reliable than Bolter. Yrliet was doing her fair share of damage too. Kibellah and that Bladedancer ability is broken. She gets so many opportunities to attack. My character I went with Warrior/Vanguard with an axe and tailored him around getting critical hits. Death World and Criminal background. There is this cape called the Malpian Shroud that made him pretty much unkillable. There is also a special Axe i got for him called Tearing Vengeance. Definitely worth getting if you have a melee fighter. The toughest fights I had in the game were in that Void Shadows DLC.

Nice. I finally beat the defiler by having Ulfar and Abelard get toe to toe with the thing. It doesn't like being close combat and kept retreating. Eventually I had it backed into a corner while the rest of the crew took out the plasma batteries and troops. At that point, it was just whittling down the hit points.

Now I'm against the big boss at the end of The Siege. That thing is a bitch. Thing about this mission is you face all these bosses without being able to go back to the void ship or adjust your team. Very annoying.

Have you started any of the DLC missions? Void Shadows or Lex Imperialis?

I played the very first Zelda. I was expecting a simple action game, but I was shocked to see that the core concept of all Zelda games had already been established in the very first title, released in 86. With that excitement, I tried to finish it, but I got stuck in a few places. When I finally reached the last dungeon, I decided it was time to watch the rest on Youtube. Still, it was an extraordinary game. My admiration for the series has grown even more. Next up is the second game!

Well. I was searching for a gory beat em up and I found #wecouldbeheros . It's basically a unity made side scroller, with ragdoll physics on everything. Add old school graphics, music and you have yourself a mental little fighting game. I particularly like the fact that you can use whatever you pick up as weapon, smash up shops, kill pensioners etc..its chaotic fun, for a bit. It is janky, and their is some serious clipping issues, but it is a game from @cebstudios and as far as I'm aware, it's a one man operation. I paid £10 for it, and for me, it's worth it

Prey
I've picked up the scope that allows me to analyse the enemies. I can now see data such as weaknesses and what type of weapons they're immune to. I suppose this means I'll no longer get jumped by a toilet roll...shame. I've also unlocked these mods which allow me to take on some of the Typhon abilities. Not sure which to go for at the moment - they all look quite fun!

Dreams in the Witch House
Just published my first theory and I've also bought the thermals from the store, which should hopefully stop me getting cold and sick. The story is starting to pick up a little nit now; I've just had my first conversation with this witch.

Playing Robocop Rogue City on PS5, picked it up when it went down to $5 a few months back.

This version chugs a lot in the city area. Like near constant hitches just running around.

edit: I take that back, it doesn't just chug in the city, it drops to what feels like the teens in combat.

Darksiders 2. It's okay. The remaster runs well.

The reason I'm mentioning this is because when I bought it (well I bought the Darksiders 3 bundle that entitles you to the first two games) I had thought I had only played the first one. Started playing and was getting some serious Deja Vu. It got to the point that I was like, I need to figure out if I had bought it before. Sure enough I had bought the original PS3 version of the game a couple months after it was released used from Amazon for cheap.

Normally I'm good at remembering what I've played in the past so this is a bit strange for me.

Stigmatized Property - Finished - 6/10
These Chilla games have a bit of a cult following, especially amongst the overreacting YouTube gang. Game was okay. Don't think I have much to say outside of that.

The Deadseat - Finished - 7/10
I really like the idea behind this. You're a kid traveling in the backseat of his parent's care. You have a 3DS type gaming handheld in which you use to collect fuel for the car and other items in order to stave off some massive creature that is trying to get into the car. It's another really short indie (25-30mins), but I tend to overlook that downside if the idea is fresh and unique like this.

Alien vs Predator (2010)
Predator is my favourite film of all time and I also love the Alien franchise. Been watching Alien: Earth and it's put me in the mood for the games. My dad bought me this when it released and it's one of the games where I actually got involved in the multiplayer. I only ever really touched the Predator campaign, so it feels new to me. Decided to play through as the xeno first. Probably go for the marine second and pred last.

Thinking of double dipping and buying that RTS Alien game. I have it on PS5 but only ever played the tutorial/intro bit.

It's old and only available on PC, but if you get a chance, I would highly recommend the Monolith Soft 2001 Alien vs Predator 2 game as well.

It's a fantastic campaign, genuinely terrifying playing as a Marine.

Playing Raidou Remastered. At first I thought maybe I made a mistake in purchasing it because of the archaic look, but the game play loop has me hooked. Never play a MegaTen game like this before and it's great.

I played that as a kid and it was probably one of the few games that actually scared me. Don't think it's available to buy anywhere. Guess it might be on some abandonware website. I do have the first AvP on GoG.

Decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on the DLC. Got to the end of chapter four and realized I had pretty much done everything. Not ready to be done yet.

Void Shadows is probably the best content in the game. Also, there is a hidden boss fight on the planet Frozen Prince.

Honestly, playing D4 S10 feels way smoother than S9. The new Helltide rewards actually give me a reason to grind, instead of just smashing mobs for no reason. Feels like I'm actually making progress every run.

Still juggling DK:Bananza on Switch 2, Rise of Ronin on PS5 Pro, Indiana Jones on Series X and TotK on Switch 2.
Near the end of DK so concentrating on that.

Got back into Mario Kart World. I play Toad, he seems kind of slow. I managed to finish 3rd though, with a lot of help from items.

I guess I have old man reflexes now. It's also fun playing in the morning with all the Japanese players.

Conan (2007) Xbox 360, played on Xbox One X and Xbox Series X

Worst game ever.
After 10+ hours, I still had no idea how the combat system worked. I got into constant epic five minute battles with grunts.
The game has a fixed camera, with completely linear paths through narrow spaces. Something like that in 7th gen should have been 720p and 60fps locked. Instead, it's 576p with zero anti-aliasing.
The ending "features" a minute and a half cutscene right before the final boss battle that can not be skipped. If you die, you have to watch it over again. And the boss fight has SEVEN stages, including fast QTEs at the end of each stage, which, if you flub a single input, will steal half your life and make you play that stage over again.
I couldn't finish it.

-37/10

So I'm playing with the thought of trying out Age of Empires 4 on Game Pass. There is a 4k HDR Video Pack that comes with 127 GB additional to the 92 Gigs for the base game.
Question is do i need the Video Pack to play the videos or are they included in lower quality within the base game?

That sounds like it's optional to me.

For those on here who have brought MGS-Delta/3 is it well worth sinking into if you have the HD version already but barely touched over all these years?

Been playing a lot of Satisfactory lately. Started a new save file August 5th and have since put in 92 hours of play time.

I've just reached the last Phase of Project Assembly and I'm a bit overwhelmed by the supply lines I'm going to need to set up to finished the game.
Might be time for a break and go play something else before I get burnt out figuring out the logistics needed for these last few dozen or so factories and power plants.

Picked up Callisto Protocol Deluxe & Terminator Resistance + DLC during the Steam FPS sale and I'm really enjoying both of them. Very in the middle "A <here> B"-tier but really fun.

Callisto Protocol: This is really good sci-fi lite-horror survival thriller if you uncouple it from Dead Space, if you don't want to, it's still decent. The artstyle and graphics are on point, everything looks crisp and very, very atmospheric. The current build runs smooth without any frame drops at 60fps, 1080P on a RTX4060.

The gameplay is basic but works well. The melee is very satisfactory and has a good weight to it, mashing up zombies feels great. Guns too have nice recoil, smoke effects and feedback. You also get a "force" glove that lets up move around, push, smash and throw enemies/objects. Evasion/dodges are very well choreographed, the whole game has a very on-the-action camera work. great angles, great sense of fright, tension, thriller and atmosphere. The loop is basically new area, explore for items, bullets and credits, fight, a cool action/horror/thriller sequence, craft/upgrade your items, repeat. Some of the action sequences esp. the sewage/drain ride was awesome. I would have definitely liked more innovative gameplay and environmental combat but it's ok.

The story is quite cliched but works well and I'm a sucker for anything sci-fi, space with lite-horror so I enjoyed it very much. Game/gameplay is very gory, lot's of deformations so if you can't take it, skip it. It's not too scary imo, Dead Space is way, way scarier.

I can see how this game kinda failed, the price was too much and the story was unfinished (now with DLC it's better). The optimization was also shit but right now it works perfect. I really recommend this, especially at 85% off.

Terminator Resistance: B-tier, low budget but fun and made with lots of love and care. This is probably the best Terminator game out there. Old title, runs extremely well and while the graphics are quite lacklustre, the artwork and atmophere are on point. The gunplay is decent, the crafting is basic, the upgrade system is basic, the story is alright, the RPG elements are decent, the VA work is funny, dialogue goes from cringe, funny and bland and weridly you (a rookie male soldier) can actually sleep with two characters in this lol.

Everything is average but the dev has very carefully put them together and crafted the game for the fans. I really enjoyed this game, it's short around ~15 hours with the dlc and at an all time low 80%, this is a no brainer if you like Terminator or are looking for a simple yet fun FPS with lite-RPG elements. This felt like a B-tier action thriller like the movie Spectral or Annihlation or Outside the Wire.

btw, the terminators are no joke!

I've put 88 hours into Nightreign since they launched duos and we finally took down the 8th Nightlord today, who probably accounted for roughly half of that time. We also got the three wins in a row trophy so all that is left is to win a match with each class and do some of the shifting earth events...if only our earths would shift...which they don't.

Been playing tlou 2 on PC. So far, it's been a lesbo lovers simulator instead of action/stealth survivable game that I was hoping for. And it's been slow as hell and not in a good way. The first few hours of TLOU was slow but interesting and engaging. When is this shit gonna get good?
God, I hate druckmann and his pretentious ass

I'm having a great time. The updated visuals are the best part next to the updated control style. It's not that long of a game if you understand MGS or have played the games before. It's also a lot of money if you don't touch it cause it's worth playing through. I finished MGS3 back at launch on PS2, didn't play much of the HD version, and I've spent 10 hours playing Delta. I'm having a great time playing this and Shinobi.
