What game have you played most for no apparent reason?

2000+ hours on Hunt: Showdown

But it's for a good reason. It's one of the coolest games ever made, or used to be at least, in my opinion. I've fallen off big time though as the game is developing in a direction I just don't care for and none of my teams are really playing anymore.

Powerwash Simulator. I played it for a laugh and now I love it.
It's something about power wash simulator that satisfys the Dad in me. This my go to game when I'm too tired to play anything that requires reactions.

Vampire survivors. I've beat the game on PC and on mobile. Found out they have cross save and did it again. A really fun game for it to be so simple.

Deads Cells. I've only ever made it to 2 boss cells, but I started again on the ps5 version and now I'm stuck on one boss cell again lol.

EXPEDITIONS Mudrunner..... Even today I can't believe that I'm so hooked on a game that I would never have paid attention to (let alone bought).

Thanks to Gamepass. I started with the excuse of getting reward points by achieving achievements and I've already spent 90 hours completing expeditions.🤗

I play a lot of Frostpunk and Slay the Spire when I'm enjoying edibles and whiskey. (though I suppose that would be an apparent reason....)

Most recently I went through Throne and Liberty while waiting for the pro to release. Got my character to max character and finished the main quest line story and then just dropped the whole thing. Just had no desire to do anything else after that.

Factorio, considering I'm doing almost the same job in real life and I hate it... I really can't understand why I love it so much.

I put countless hours into WoW. Its one game that I thoroughly enjoyed through and through. The time spent with friends on chat irl and online, and enemies made on there. But wouldn't ever get back into it.

Think the grind to Rank 14 in Classic WoW did it for me lol. Totally worth it though.

I still play Counter Strike: Source.

The game is 20 years old and still has a thriving online community. It's just so easy to jump in and play.

Forza horizon 3,4,5 and The crew 1 and 2. Must have put over 600 hours between those games. And most of that time was just doing different jumps of finding new jump spots that i could launch my cars from. Something about open world driving games and ramps/hills etc. just gets me addicted

started FF14 in hope of collect platinum, but at this point i think trophy doesn't matter anymore

I played Immortals of Aveum and didn't like one minute of it, I was waiting for a difficulty spike to put it down, but the game presented no resistance at all.

I didn't like the characters, hated the story, the setting and the writing and the "twist" can be predicted by anyone with half a brain.

But I just kept playing until the end.

For like 3 years, I would come home from a 11-12 hour shift at work and be too tired to mentally engage with any of my usual JRPG stuff. Sometimes you just want to attach a guy to a propane tank and shoot it.

Obviously average shooters cause they still make sense with all the negativity surrounding it, they still deliver great value imo.

Fallout 3 was the game I kept going back to over and over and over, even though I'd done everything there was to do, so just because. But there's always a reason - it was so damn good to be in that world. So that's probably the closest thing to what the OP is asking for in the post if not the title (and also made Fallout 4 being a complete turd in almost every possible way very, very difficult to accept).
