it would have to be clairvoyant asscovering then, since this was posted the end of April. This is the Aires guy that posted on the Broken Saints website claming to have all of the inside info on Nintendo, that MattIGN later shot down. He's claimed though that everyone wouldn't be wowed until the 19th. So fuck it, who knows, eh? And the CubeIGN board noticed that the E3 Nintendo page has a clip of Perrin Kaplan saying something about "meeting on wednesday and thursday" or something. Not sure exactly what the quote is.

Generally it may seem this way, I may be mistaken, but I believed he posted that the last week of April. Why would he start damage control weeks in advance?
 
Really really hoping for something on the Rev. Anything at all details wise at this point. Otherwise this was a large mistake by nintendo considering that their console is the only area of their business plan that needs attention. How can a company be so faultlessly good at making a handheld sell, yet suck out loud at marketing a console. It's like there are 2 nintendos and I like the retarded one best :(

Speaking of that, the way he presented it, comparing the size to the iPod then saying it played GBA games and then kinda pausing, I was fully expecting him to say it doubled as an MP3 player minimum. Then ... nothing. I didn't expect much Revolution info to be disclosed anyway, so that was almost the biggest disappointment of the conference to me.
 
I have a feeling this puzzle thing that Nintendo is talking about is going to be solved by the end of E3 and the Club Rev booth will be where all the hints are. Also that the FF: CC for the Rev and the DS are the same game. But you can play your character on the go (DS) or when your at home (Rev).

This is all me speculating so none of this is true.

The revolution isn't being released for a year. Nintendo has a lot of time to recover and make up for the mess they left.

Though if they turn things around just a day or two after that conference, there better be a damn good reason on why they didn't show anything.

Well, he was right regarding the NES, SNES and N64 compatibility, so who knows... I'm actually starting to believe this guy.

Not quite. I would be more disappointed if they DID reveal Revolution stuff and it turned out to be gimmicky and stupid. There wouldnt be much future for the thing then. At least now you can wonder.... :lol
 
I dont think they will be showing it then either. The thing is that even if they did have somethng good, it gives far too much time for the competition to counter.

I think their graphics card is probably not as weak as everyone thinks. I mean 2-3x as powerful as gamecube for a time frame of 5 years is a joke.
 
after looking at the size of it, and reading the GA-specs (from the site itself)...i think the console will be sort of a web portal. you'll have your games designed for itself, backward compatibility with gamecube, and downloadable nintendo games from the previous gens. basically an all in one system, i'm pretty sure at this point it wont be in the same league as xenon/ps3. just an all around nintendo console, celebrating their legacy.
 
It's a long shot. I have always thought the guy is totally full of shit. And I agree with Drinky, this could have been his backout clause if the Nintendo conference went pear shaped.

From what Ive heard, they will show the design of the system as well as games. Ill tell you about the software later though

In my eyes, the online system they have set up is the most revolutionary part of the system. While Sony and Microsoft are busy turning their systems into trojan horses for their other electronic devices, Nintendo is going to use the Revolution for direct communication with gamers.
The only way I can describe it is as an internet service. Imagine turning it on and checking your mail on the system. You see previews and demos of DS and Revolution games that you can download.

I would go as far to say that the Revolution isnt as revolutionary as Nintendo is saying.
It should be called the Nintendo Simplicity, because every aspect I mentioned greatly simplifies the gaming experience.

Its hard to explain though. Dont expect to see too much if any of the controller at E3 though.
Nintendo is still trying to decide what to show and what not to show. The games will be revealed, as well as specs and the system design. But the controller is still being considered.

Interesting questions. From what Im hearing, the Revolution will have some impressive 3rd party support around launch.
EA, Capcom, Namco, Konami, Majesto, Squaresoft (sorry, I still call them that), and my company are supporting it so far.
Im sure others are working on stuff.
For instance, I dont see why a game like Soul Caliber III wont be on the Revolution.

Squaresoft has a game ready for E3, as well as Zoonami.

So yes, it looks like it will get better 3rd party support.
But this could change if the system is unsuccessful.

This was all as time went on.

I thought it was better than Brooke's stereoscopic gyro madness, but y'know... I thought it was guesswork from an over-enthusiastic fan or maybe even a Nintendo hater. I guess I still do. But that'd be pretty insane if it was all a ruse no?

Ah well not gonna happen :( Still happy with how the thing looks and all the online stuff. Good to see some GBmicro love too. Nintendo, if GBmicro is cheap you can take that GBA port out of the DS and I'll see your systems are bought.

Seriously, all the "I know something you don't know!" bullshit really came to a head over the course of the three press conferences, especially in the wake of the Microsoft and Nintendo events. Can we just stop pulling this shit, nevermind importing it from other boards? Please?

Thats a pretty decent back up of some of his claims, I remember reading this and writing him off as a crackpot.... I'll take his chatter wih slightly less amound of salt now. Still a lot of salt though.

Also, can anyone else feel the rage in IGNs writings of the E3 conference? I woke up early before work today to read up on the conference, read IGN first and then came here for comments and as soon as I had finished reading it, I had this UH OH feeling as I opened the GAF :lol
 
They put up some new Revolution boards where you are supposed to say what you think about the console. They did that for some other things as well and usually they do something about it given the responses
