I was running alot playing road hockey with friends and i guess i didnt stretch enough or something, anyways i was running and then i felt a sudden pinch in my upper thigh.

Now it hurts alot everytime i lift my leg to run. I was wondering what is the best sort of treatment for this stuff ?

WHO DEY!?
RICE= rest, ice, compression, elevation

That may be more than you need. Assuming you are a strapping young lad just rest it for a day or 2. I have been training for a marathon and many pains that appear just go away in 2 days or so (and I'm an old man, 28).

yea im 24 and have been playing road hockey every summer and this is the first time i have pulled a muscle so severly that i wasnt able to play through it.

Thanx i guess ill just try resting it for a day or 2.

Stretch before and during activity so that this sort of stuff doesn't happen.

You know, I stretch very little. A co Worker of mine who is an avid cyclist and runner said he NEVER stretches. I think it all depends on the person.

go to a physio.

u may have torn it. in which case it will need some tlc from the physio.

BTW stretching only decreases the chance of dragging a muscle, sometimes there is fuck all u can do to stop it.

I pulled my driving muscle (the one at the front of the thigh) off the bone 8km into a 12km run in 30C temps. I was warm, stretched, relaxed etc. but i was running on some grass and stuck my foot in a small hole. BANG. hasta la vista muscle.
