I may be getting a Samsung cellphone.

Before you judge me, it's a good one and not the shitty ones that seemingly come with a cracked screen as a feature from the factory, used by people who smell like weed Dirty bastards.

What web browser does GAF recommend?

Since I can't use Safari I want something similar with adblocking, privacy and the ability to sync with a desktop version for bookmarks, passwords etc. Bonus points if it has both a Mac and Windows version. On my gaming PC I currently use Firefox but my Macs and iPhone are Safari.

I did search but the other threads are 10+ years old so I guess a lot has changed since then.

Brave has adblocking, but no sync function, as far as I know you can't even create an account on Brave to save your settings, bookmarks, etc...

If you have Windows, Edge syncs nicely and works well. I don't have a Mac anymore but apparently there is a Mac version of the browser.

It does but its peer-to-peer, and instead of a traditional password you have to enter a sequence of worlds as your passkey for the sync chain.

All I'll say is this: how can you violate terms of service you never agreed to? If I can access YouTube ad-free without an account, then I'm going to access YouTube ad-free without an account.

YouTube Premium Lite is currently available in the United States, Australia, Germany, Thailand, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, and Great Britain.

I've been using Brave for the last couple of years and it's great. Keeping a video playing when the screen is locked is a nice feature.

I use Brave.
Works well, has a built in ad blocker and also gives you youtube with no ads and playback with the screen turned of.
I tried Firefox a few years ago but I personally ran into issue with it (pages often refusing to load for no reason), so I switched to Brave and haven't had a reason to look for an alternative (yet).

Edge here, paired with DNSnet for ad blocking, which as an added bonus also blocks ads inside pretty much all apps so any shitty freemium stuff is also ad free.
