What is the last game you preordered?

DOOM The Dark Ages (collectors edition)

Feeling Dumb Jim Carrey GIF

Diablo 4 next expansion since they released the Paladin early for current season
Up next Resident Evil Requiem though just a day or so before release, there was no preload for past RE games on Steam

Dishonored 2 back in 2016, it was such a poor port on PC even though the game is great that i stopped pre ordering from then on and i'm glad i did, i will wait until a game is released now then decide to buy after seeing how it performs, and that has saved me some money.

Last year's Call of Duty through Amazon. While some CODs are better than others, I kind of know what I'm getting.

Most of my gaming is on PC, so I usually wait until release day, read reviews, and then buy things Day One if I'm getting new releases.

Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. RGG are one of the very few studios I can blindly trust even without waiting for first player impressions. Probably going to preorder Yakuza 3 Kiwami in the next few days.

I have a rule to never pre order and wait for reviews. But that broke this year when they announced a release date for both Kirby Air Riders and Metriod Prime 4. Before that it was way back in 2018 when Red Dead Redemption 2 dropped.

Don't usually pre-order anything anymore, but did for Monster Hunter Wilds...obvious regret ensued. Game is at least better now.

I think it was Stellar Blade for PS5. I pre ordered most of my phisical purchases cuz in the store i bought my games, the pre-order prices were 10€ cheaper then the day 1 prices. Now that i moved to PC i dont pre-order anything cuz thers no point in pre-ordering digital games. I bought Expedition 33 day 1 with a big discount. And RE9 might be another day 1 purchase, but im not pre-ording it. Most games i buy now need to have at least a -50% tag on the price.

Black ops 7, it's good but has some serious identity issues (military or is it sfyi), too many perks, just less polish compared to the modern warfare games.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade for Switch 2. The physical version in particular. Not happy about the Game-Key card, but at least it has some pretty cool physical extras along with some in-game ones as well.

I preordered Cyberpunk. Took a year or two for it to be updated enough that I wanted to play it.

I don't preorder games now.

Usually, Games are cheaper later on. Games often need to be patched multiple times after launch. Most games are sold digitally and so there's practically infinite amounts of stock.

Yet publishers still manage to get people to put their money down early.

No need to preorder ever.

Proud to say i NEVER pre ordered any title. I don't get the concept...so I can play a demo? So I can get some golden gun and 3 extra healing items? So that I downloaded it earlier...ok I can wait 2 hours, its not a big deal. Better than paying for something full price to only find out its absolute garbage.

I've pre-ordered the physical Deluxe Edition of Resident Evil: Requiem. though that game has not launched yet. If the OP is looking for pre-orders of games that have already released, then my summer was pretty lit--in rapid succession:

Mafia: The Old County
Robocop: Rogue City: Unfinished Business
Silent Hill f

All were pre-ordered physically, standard editions.

I game on a PS5 Pro with a disc drive add-on and continue to acquire my games physically whenever feasible--as in, the cost is reasonable and the game is not "disposable" to me. I consider digital games to be disposable, and with few exceptions, I will not purchase any digital title if it is not 50% off or more.

The last game I pre-ordered was Half-Life 2, in the store, to pick up my "physical" copy on the day of it's release.

Otherwise, I have never pre-ordered a digital game. People pre-ordering digital games always reminds me how doomed the human race is (among many other factors).

I can't remember.

But GreenManGaming often has reduced prices at launch so sometimes if I know 100% for sure I'm going to like something, you can't refund a GMG key unlike a Steam key, then I'll pay a day or so in advance for both the reduced price and whatever gimmicky pre-purchase bonus that comes with a game.

I didn't pre-purchase Metal Gear Solid Delta but the launch window price was 25% off and GMG doesn't charge tax, so I got it for $53. Saved about $21 on it and really enjoyed it.

Most recent is Final Fantasy VII Remake for Switch 2. I know it's a game key card and that sucks, but I loved the game on PS4/5 and was really impressed with how good the demo ran/looked. The store I typically buy games from is a local mom & pop that doesn't stock everything that comes out. A preorder is the best way to ensure I can get it through them instead of a big box store or Amazon.
