It doesn't bother me as much when it's on screen, especially when it's fast paced. My phobia is very much an "in real life" situation. If I can't see the bottom of what ever water I'm on then I'm my head there's all kinds of creatures waiting to attack me. I know it's irrational, I grew up and still live within a mile of the beach. I used to canoe when I was younger and the deep water didn't bother me, it's an adult thing.

Me and my wife were snorkeling in Grand Cayman and at the edge of the reef you can see the cliff that drops off to God knows how deep, while I don't have Thalassophobia that freaked me out a bit.

I slapped it away rabidly and i HEARD it thunk against a wall. Sounded like a toothpaste tube hitting a brick...
They say if you pick one up and drown it in sesame oil it eventually dissolves into an anti serum. We use chopsticks for this. I fucking dare any one of you to try. If you don't get a good grip they'll run up the sticks and head for your face.

Happily they're harmless to humans and are actually beneficial because they crawl around under your house eating genuinely scary things like Mukade..These things are straight out of hell.
