Now there is a question you don't think about every day. Out of all the ISPs there ever were/are, which one has been in business the longest? Does anyone have the definitive answer?

Are CompuServe and Prodigy still around?

CompuServe was eventually swallowed by AOL, Prodigy - at last count - was dumped by IBM/Sears and sold to some Mexican outfit. Both started out as closed content providers, neither providing world-wide-web access - never mind anything else - until it became clear that the Internet's existence was going to seriously screw with their business model. Prodigy I know started to move to an entirely web-based system, with websites only accessible to members, and I'm pretty sure CompuServe went the same route eventually as well.

PANIX is still around, too.
