What is your favorite representation of the TMNT?

It's nice to see the new series getting praise. I'd also add this: new theme song › the original theme song. This coming from someone who enjoys Horse the Band's cover of the original theme very much.

The first cartoon series will always be how I think of them. But I'd still like to see another darker, serious live action movie similar to the original comics.

The 1987-1996 cartoon.

The first two Live action films.

And I really liked the 2007 CGI TMNT. Shame it didn't reboot the franchise and keep it going with more of them.

So few people mentioning the IDW series. Making me sad :(

Its even better than the original comics run. And I don't say that lightly, I loved the originals too.

Grew up watching the first Movie and loving it.

Then watched the live action tv show and hated it. (Except that episode where they teamed up with Power Rangers IN SPACE)

But mostly, I love the Turtles because of this:

I've put hundreds of hours into this game as a kid. There's a chick that has an attack that bounces her ass at the opponent. She also spins hurricanes with her body and butterflies comes out of her uppercut.

I was also really boss with Donatello (the best Turtle). His special was summoning a fucking DRAGON.

This game right here is my best memories with the Turtles.

It really is very good. Not sure if I'd place it over the best of the Mirage volumes, but the writing is generally better and I love all of the clever little homages to the old comics.

i think the animation style changes over time in the 2003 animated series. i remember the later seasons have an uglier and cheaper looking style.

I never read the original comics but how were the Turtles personalitys in that one? Like for example did they still like Pizza?

2K3 was really good until Fast Forward messed things up. Even Fast Gorward wasn't the worst thing ever, even if it went on far too long.

In the original? It varies depending on the writer. They weren't as cookie cut as they are in other medium. Also, liked pizza significantly less.

Loved Leo and Raph in the 2007 movie. They were enough for me to put them toward the top.

The new cartoon is really well done. And the first movie as well.

So those three, really.

Yeah , just looking at the artwork they seemed more meaner and have "a don't take shit from nobody" attitude.

Your 2k3 pic for the turtles is from Back to the sewer! When the series was officially dead in my eyes and trying to make the 80s fans happy by giving them eyes.

The Mirage Turtles were the best, I think. In terms of characterizations, looks, and everything.

I really enjoy the designs of the Turtles in the new Nickelodeon cartoon, but everything else (except for my favorite interpretation of Splinter) in the show just doesn't click with me. The designs, humor and way some characters are written feel dull or forced. Above all else, the the godawful running animation makes me cringe:
You aren't even running very fast! Swing your goddamn arms!

That ass attack is unstoppable. I bought this game for a friend of mines son a few years ago.

Turtles plus a fighting game. His head exploded.

Anyway he had a few friends come over and I would play with them.

I absolutely crushed the all with that one move.

Lots of 9 year old anger in that room that night.

2003 tmnt was great until it had reboot in like season 7 called fast forward which was a huge downgrade, but before that, it was the best tmnt cartoon even better then the original one.

Nick-tmnt is a lot funny and good had lots charm, when it was first shown I bashed it along with gaf.....we all ended up eating some good crow.

Secret of the oozea movie is shockingly even better movie then the first.

Tmnt movie - underrated good movie.

1987 tmnt - campy but still fun.

Turtles in time snes - one best co-op side stroller beat-em ups ever my god.

Tmnt cg - weakest of bunch but still good.

My son loves the current TV show and I do as well. From what I've seen so far, it's up there with the first series for me.

The first two movies were good as well.

Let's see:
'87 Series - Grew up with it and all.
'03 Series - While I had my doubts initially, it ended up being pretty good until they did Fast Forward and it kinda went to crap after that.
Turtles Forever was awesome though. Very nice homage to the series in general.

Games:
-TMNT III - The Manhattan Project: Had this on the NES. Pretty great game and who knew those damn Foot Soldiers had so many variations?
-Turtles in Time: A real classic. Me and my friends had plenty of fun playing this.

The first two movies were pretty good, but as mentioned, the third was kinda crap.

I watched some of The Next Mutation, but it was silly.

IDW comics is the best.

Enough said, its the best rendition of the Turtles and their world we've ever had.
Not too goofy, not too gritty, extremely well written and just keeps getting better.

Anyone who is not reading it should be.

This. I have been incredibly pleasantly surprised by the IDW comics. They're wonderful.

I've only watched the 1987-1996 cartoon and the live-action movies and enjoyed both... well, except for the third movie. Judging by the first issue, the IDW comic seems to be pretty solid as well. Might buy the volumes on a ComiXology sale.

I love the original cartoon for nostalgia purposes but have to go with the new Nick version as the best one. Love the character designs (amazing how no one prior thought of having different heights for the turtles) and the writing especially the comedic parts are definitely on point. Makes me feel good that kids seem to like it too.

My least favorite interpretation is the second animated cartoon where all the turtles looked like roid monsters.

I only read the old comics and remember the original cartoon. Looking back, they weren't all that great but I'll just go with them.
