closely followed by Halo 2 and Paper Mario 2 and Pikmin 2.. I have a feeling Metroid Prime 2 will be joining these second-place comer's once I get that.
so far gradius v. havent played halo 2, ninja gaiden, mgs 3 or hl2 yet though. but if i did, NG would likely be GOTY, as its more my kind of a game than the rest.
katamari makes me dizzy, any way to reduce that?
As much as I'm incredibly impressed with Half-Life 2 so far (haven't finished it yet), I don't see how I can vote for anything BUT UT2k4. With the hours I've spent playing that game...crap, I could have finished my book.
This has been one hell of a year. I'm really hard pressed to choose a single game that stands head-and-shoulders above the rest so far, but here are my picks in no particular order:
played it on both systems. yeah, xbox looks bootyful and has the Live features. but at home I dont have live. but the main reason is that I like the gritty look of it on the PS2. and also, compared to Ninja Gaiden, I can't put PoPWW over it..
I can understand people choosing HALO 2 over HL2 simply because the AI in Halo 2 is so much more advanced that it offers the game MUCH more replayability.
Which is better boils down to what you are looking for...both games are definately worth owning so that's all I really care about
Year isn't finished yet... I still need to get Metroid Prime 2, Paper Mario 2, Tales of Symphonia, TLOZ: Minish Cap, and Donkey Konga (damn Australian release dates). But currently Half-Life 2 is my GOTY and probably my favourite game to date. I've never played a more engaging game before.
Ninja Gaiden...? No wait... Metroid Prime: Echoes...or, dude... MGS3...or...Halo 2, or wait I forgot about...(a list of games practically into infinity....)
Animal Crossing It was released here in Europe only a couple of months ago, and I've been playing it constantly. Every single day. It's mundane, but it keeps reeling me in.
I've got sealed copies of Paper Mario 2, Metroid Prime 2, Tales Of Symphonia and Zelda - The Minish Cap waiting, along with barely played Pikmin 2 and Fire Emblem, so I just might change my opinion when I have time for them starting this Thursday night!
I skipped a shit load of games this fall, so I just list what stuck out in my mind as the most fun/played this year. I really need to pick up Halo 2 next. Nocturne and Druaga too. Looking at the list, all that sticks out for me is "holy shit, Final Fantasy didnt' suck this year".
Metroid Prime 2. The game has completely owned me for the last week. I put every other game I was playing on hold because i knew I would probably be disgusted by them for taking time away from Prime 2.
