What other forums do you guys use?

I've been using the Internet since around 1999/2000. As a kid I never really used forums or anything like that. I do enjoy using them but I feel nowadays forums are being run out of town by sites like Reddit that just have a community for everything.

So my question is, what other forum sites, or just websites in general, are you guys a part of? They can be general forums or niche-topic ones. The only other ones I really use are the Metallica forums and the occasional browse of the westeros.org forum.

Cheers.

I've been online since around 2000's. I don't use any other forum except Neogaf.
I was an active member of Gametrailers.com forums till the very end but they closed down.
I have a reddit acc but I don't use it. Never really understood the appeal of it.
I'm not fond of resetera, I think they're a bunch of cunts. And I wouldn't really last much there with my anti SJW view of the world and society.

Neogaf, emuglx, (briefly resetera but not anymore), newshacker and stackoverflow (i consider it kind a forum :) )

I use Reddit once in a blue moon. Like for game specific sub-reddit. For an all encompassing general stuff, this is a great place.

I still have a gamefaqs account created:

I grew up with forums. The one I'm most nostalgic about is

I kinda forgot about here tbh, I had some issues shortly after the split where I was getting crazy ad related issues so I kinda just stayed over at Era until I was temp banned for a couple weeks over some ridiculous crap earlier this week... then I remembered the OG and decided to check it out again : Love what you did with the place, it looks gorgeous.

I'll probably bounce back and forth reading-wise but I imagine I'll post far less over there moving forward (and I don't post much to begin with).

I also read Gearslutz (music gear forum) but don't really participate. I used to be fairly active on the Ableton forum (music production software) but some changes occurred and someone pissed me off and I stopped visiting for a few years and now occasionally just read some threads but rarely contribute.

In the past year I have started fucking with reddit. Not the biggest fan (I prefer the forum layout) but there is soooo much going on and there's a community for everything.

I may be more active here now that whatever nonsense was happening with the ads and redirects seems to have been dealt with. It's a tad more childish then before but they're kinda authoritative over there, kinda contradictory to the 'liberal' stance.

legit same except for me it was gamefaqs not gametrailers

Edit: outside of porn I can't for the life of me figure out the appeal of reddit, either. I think the voting system is inherently broken and hate that posts get hidden after a certain amount of downvotes. At best, it stifles discussion; at worst, it hides and prevents the sharing of information.

These days I post on Reddit, IGN's Vestibule (essentially their off topic board), and on /b/ on occasion.

And here, of course.

I'm sure there are some message boards that are still thriving, but the ones I post on do seem to be dying a slow death (Reddit aside). Why? Not really sure, but if I had to guess, it'd be something to do with the insular nature of the communities. Every place seems to have its own "accepted" manner of behavior, and if you don't fall in line, then you get attacked.

Except Gaf I do frequent some MS forums but that is to discuss medical stuff and to provide help and support to new suffers.

I was on TXB years ago which eventually morphed into UnionVGF. Nothing against the Union guys they're an ok bunch but it doesn't have the TXB feel plus it lacks the humour of Papa Papa Tesseract Tesseract Cunth Cunth DeepEnigma DeepEnigma triplestation triplestation and the insight of the all seeing EviLore EviLore

I have to thank TXB though it was through them I found Gaf.

I did however move to reset not because I hated Gaf or anything I just thought everybody on Gaf moved over and Gaf was down. it wasn't TIL about year afterwards did I realise that I was in a far-left echo chamber that did not tolerate dissent. I still don't understand why the outrage and migration over what happened and I'm not interested Gaf is home Gaf is life.

I'm on the Fifa forums and if you're a fan of gangsta shit, I'm still technically a fan of RapWorlds.com since 2004.

I joined when I was 17. I'm 34 this coming October.

Reddit is helpful for pretty much everything, not much of a community forum

Ultimate-guitar has good tabs, but the community used to be really fun back in the day

IGN and Gamefaqs are good for videogame questions / PS4 stuff. Vestibule is full of spam.

Misc BB is a weird combination of good lifting and life advice, but full of really bad trolls and hateful red pill weirdos.

I was a heavy forum user throughout my entire internet life since 96. Nowadays I just use Neogaf and Sevenstring.org which is a guitar forum focused on extended range instruments and all things metal. However, activity there is low because it's very niche. So I'm here more often.

misc section of bodybuilding.com when I'm really hyped, but I don't go there often, but theres some decent laughs over there. their reputation system feels so dated compared to here tho i wish they had a format like neogaf where u have reactions and instant notifications of some1 replying to u

I only use GAF. I'm not much of a forum guy. I'm not much for Internet at all, I fucking hate much of it. I'd rather spend my time doing something creative and fun, rather than get caught up in all the negativity that currently flows through every corner of the web.

Just here. Before here, Shoryuken forums from 2001-2014, before there, Gamefaqs from 1998-2001.

I only sign up if I enjoy the forum somewhat prior to having an account. It's funny seeing my own history written out so simply, 3 main places since 1998, all gaming related.

I am on reddit, but mostly on the f1 related channels. A lot of subreddits are pure cancer because of sjw's, folks downvoting everything and mods enforcing harsh censorship.

I was a member of next-episode.net for many years, but most of the active users left over time and also the site became too unfriendly for ad blockers.

Gaf is the only one I post on since 1up shuttered long ago. I do occasionally read Era for gaming news since it gets posted insanely quick over there, and the off topic forum is almost always an entertaining trainwreck.

One Reddit group, a couple of Facebook groups, and an early retirement forum. GAF is the only gaming-related forum I visit.

I only use NeoGAF. I did post at IGN for a while there, but it was pretty unpleasant overall. I've been a forum guy since 2000. I think my first real forum was WrestlingTalks. They shut down in like 2002 or earlier. I was pretty devastated at the time. :messenger_pensive:

Delphi forums, I love stats driven sports board games, they have a few good communities for that. Also use rllmuk sometimes.
