Bowling
Yeh don't try and keep up with the kids....I learnt the hard way at the jump park.
Mind you with your BMX racing background at least you'll have the basics of jumping, manualing and bunnyhops down. Trying to learn at about 40 with a 23kg ebike is bit of a strain
eBikes are a blessing and a hinderance. I've gone a Specialised, like my son's bike, and couldn't be happier. Super light weight, dual suspension, disc brakes and generally just easy to ride. I went with smaller wheels on advice from my son's friend who is a sponsored MTB rider. The BMX memory is there, the lack of fear isn't. One thing that is totally new to me is the bunny hop compressing your suspension down before springing up and landing with suspension of MTB. It's totally different as I had to be smooth on a fixed frame BMX or you were eating dirt. MTB is far more forgiving, something that is appreciated by this old man.
Yeh I never rode BMX as a kid, I had a dirt bike though. I have natural balance and coordination to an extent, but I cannot for the life of me bunnyhops worth a damn or jump. I am getting to jumping now, clearing doubles that are over a bike length, but it still scares me and I feel like learning to bunnyhop a 25kg ebike is maybe not as easy as bunnyhopping a BMX lol. I do have a DJ (Norco Rampage 1) but honestly I feel like I'm closer to learning to b'hop the bigger ebike for some reason.
It's funny you mention how forgiving the ebike is vs the BMX. I totally get that on smoother trails, as there's a dirt jump park I went to on my full sus ebike first, and then later on my dirt jumper and I couldn't believe how rough the surface felt after my full sus ebike; it made me realise how much the full sus ebike smoothed out the surface....but trust me where I ride the trails are covered in so much jank, loose and dug in rocks and drops, I've used all of that suspension or felt like I wanted more of it lol.
Yeh I do the anti-row to get the front wheel forward and rear up when jumping, it's just getting the front wheel up to begin with. Getting up into that standing position with the handlebars at your hips is the part I can't do, and when I do manage to really get the front wheel up I have the timing off somehow and the rear can feel like a dead weight.BMX is easier to learn bunny hops with, smaller and easier to throw around. Especially true with getting the back of the frame up, remember to push out/back down with your handlebars to gain the height your fronted is leading with.
Son came off on a 18 foot gap the other week, got away with grazes on hip and shoulder but broke his helmet strap and outside cage. Time for me to get him a solid full face one. He and his mates are really starting to push jumps over trails.

Any futsal players here?
Gym, I also closely follow Formula 1 and Chess, and I cook everyday and also grow Bonzai trees (to various levels of success, I am new to this) and I also read books and manga.
Yeah, CEOsMost here omitted to mention GAF’s main hobby: wanking
Why not? Just don’t spend too much monry on things you definitely don’t need, growing and styling a tree is so rewardingMan Bonzai is great. Ive never really grown anythign myself but I was always intrested. I had several friends who were into it and Ive been to a handful of Bonzai shows. I should give it a go.
You guys play vidyagames?Gaming is like the default mode for me since it's the easiest thing to get into and I've been doing it since I was a little kid. I got 4 consoles, 2 VR headsets, and a gaming PC, with close to 2000 games in total between all of those platforms. I have a ton of gaming peripherals, accessories, and other doodads to make the hobby more fun and varied.
But sometimes, even I like to get away from all of it and just do something else. Like sketch drawing, for example. Or video editing. Or biking.
I've been also thinking quite seriously about getting into model making. I'm just not sure where to start with it. I've been even considering getting into Warhammer 40k tabletop just for the figure painting aspect of it, but I think gluing some jet fighters could also be pretty fun.
So anyway, what are your hobbies outside of gaming?

That's not a hobby, that's a basic need, like drinking water or shidding. Most here omitted to mention GAF’s main hobby: wanking
Very nice. It’s turf that you’ll be playing on?HERE!!! Futsal representing and may have got myself signed up for old-folks 11-a-side too
Played in a semi-pro ranked futsal league in the UK waaaaaay back, and played at a decent level in Tokyo (more so at 11-a-side) . Captained a few teams to futsal glory :O
I'm now rattling towards 50 though, but i've signed up for a local team's 50+ side but can't start until 49th Birthday - gives me time to get fit again.
Only played once in the last 2 years or so, but yeah - did alright, group of seniors related to Blackpool FC
