i've never had the patience to properly perform a stranger. It's like making Jell-O... every five minutes you check it to see if it's set, then you're like, "fuck it, i'm eating this shit."

My father, because he'll basically forgive George W Bush for anything and everything as long as he gets his tax relief (my words, not his). His priorities have really begun to disgust me, and I feel somewhat tempted to try and get my assets and cut myself loose. I just, I don't like being associated with it.

what you do is scrunch your hand, which makes a kind of funnel out of the note, then you aim the funnel at your coin pocket of your wallet, coins slide in and you put the note away....

- bad customer service
- the entitlement generation
- frivolous lawsuits
- blister packs
- when the seal rips the paper on a snap DVD case
- adhesive residue on the DVD case (left by sticker seal)
- the idea that you have to try something to know if you like it
- political hypocrisy

The real problem I find with people who think they're good enough to drive beyond the speed limit (and beyond the other rules of the road) is that they seldom leave enough leeway for other drivers who aren't that good. It's not just you that has to be able to deal with the unexpected consequences of breaking the law in that way.

Besides, I like the added fuel economy of sticking within (and often below) the speed limit. 1400 miles on a single tank of fuel? I'll take that over getting to my destination five minutes earlier.
exactly.

No, the limit is there to keep ticket revenue coming into the government's coffers. Seriously, most speed limits are bullshit. And if you're a good driver, driving more than 10 mph over the speed limit can be perfectly reasonable (on the freeway, at least). What's far more dangerous is tailgating.
and what's wrong with them getting money to pay for more public services like the PD, the FD, and whatever else?

Agreed about the turn signal on highways.

Disagree severely about speeding. In NY you'd better be going with the flow of traffic, otherwise you'll be high beamed, honked and sworn at. The difference between 50 and 60MPH isn't that staggering. In fact, 50 is downright slow, 60 is nice and 70 is ideal for highway speeds. I usually go between 60-70, all depending on the flow of traffic. It's those who are doing 90 or exceeding 100 on a busy highway that should be shot in the arms. But there are still safe area of speeds that you can drive at without being a danger to others.

Speed limits are bullshit and they don't help prevent accidents. In fact, they probably create them, seeing as how most people think the current speed limit is too slow. This is what I love about L.A. and much of California...speed limit of 65 and 70? Sign me up!
except that most of those people in California are ass drivers and they do 90-100 (traffic permitting of course) anyway. besides, limits out here are right in the 65-70 range already. So, limit +10 would be around 80 which isn't a safe speed. In city limits, like in the city proper, there are people driving 55. why? that's 20 miles over and you aren't getting anywhere any faster because of the lights (though they usually will run those as well). I love it when I'm passed and then I end up right next to them one or two lights later. boy, they got real far huh.

and I didn't mean just on highways - everywhere.

i agree with everthing you said except this. here in houston, they wanted more revenue so they just decided in a budget crunch to drop the speed limit down 10 mph. that's bullshit. make our days shittier because our mayor and city council can't budget the damn city.

yeah, I agree that sucks. I revise it to say normal revenue gained from speeding tickets is OK.
