Loves the Greater Toronto Area
So the woman and I just picked up another dog from the pound as a playmate for our existing dog. He is about a year old and is a Beagle/Sheltie mix. He is insanely well behaved and him and Lucy (our Beagle/Pointer mix) get along unbelievably well.

Anyway, his name is chip which is about the dumbest name I can possibly think of (no offense to anyone here named chip), and the humane society people say that at a year old if we really wanted to we could change his name and that we would just have to make sure and train him with the new name. So what should we call him? Suggestions (I am trying for Drinky but I don't think it is going over).

p.s. sorry about the quality of the picture. I love my Nokia 6620 phone, but it has a shit ass camera.

Pig-Pen

Pig-Pen is known for the cloud of dirt and dust that follows him wherever he goes. He sometimes refers to it somewhat nobly as the dust of ancient civilizations. He cannot and will not wash it off for more than the briefest of periods - in fact, he is referred to as the only person who can get dirty from walking through a snowstorm. Nevertheless, on rare occasions he has appeared clean, and hence unrecognizable, in the strip.

Pig-Pen first appeared in the Peanuts comic strip on July 13, 1954. Schulz noted that he regretted that the Pig-Pen was popular, considering that he was essentially a one-joke character.

Marty!!!!........I was going to post a similar topic for my new puppy (we went through 3 different names before we decided on Oskar (hes an american Eskimo)

this is him with his daddy Kaneda......

Well, the woman says it is down to either Charlie Brown and Lucy or Lucy and Ricky.

the heat is on... keep the names coming.

What woman? Does Woman have a name? Are you keeping the dog? And why do you need permission? And why do I have to ask these questions?

Oskar? Come on....stop with the misspelling, Ryck. Your name is now Rick and his is Oscar.

STOP THE INSANITY!
You know what I hadn't even thought of that :lol .......we named him that cause we were watching Shindlers List and his name was Oskar, we liked it.

When I was a kid, I had a sheltie named Scruffy and my neighbor had a beagle named Bobbie. So you should name it a variation of those two names together, like Scrubbie or Buffy.

Please don't name him Ricky :)

Advantages of the name "Ricky":

- Lucy and Ricky loved each other, while Lucy and Charlie Brown kinda hated each other
- Your wife can sing "Oh Ricky, you're so fine" to your new dog
- When you can call him you can go "Hey Ricky!" (clap-clap, clap) "Hey Ricky!" (clap-clap, clap)
- You can think of him as the hero of The Story of Ricky and imagine him kicking ass
- He LOOKS like a Ricky
- Your dogs aren't going to confuse each others' names because they sound nothing alike
- You can yell "Ricky" loudly -- very important for dog owners!
- If he's bad you can call him by his fullname, "Richard"
- It's a cute name for a cute dog

And you can call him a Dick, which is very important.

He looks like a Dante, IMO. Call him Dante...or Leon. Or Joe...well, anything from a Capcom game would work :lol

Cute dog btw :) Adopting a dog from an animal shelter is the best thing anyone can do. I wish more people would do it. I got mine from a shelter and she is brilliant

/nod that is where we got lucy from also. we are actually very lucky in the milwaukee area. virtually all adoptable pets are adopted. euthanasia only occurs when an animal is determined to be unadoptable (usually has to have a severe temperment or physical problem).

Borghe that sounds great. There are lots of animal shelters around here and they all do very well.

No more Joes. Damn copy cat'ers

What about "Another Joe" then? :D

When I get a dog, I'm going to name it "Kepler" (I know... I'm a nerd, but at least it's better than "Einstein", and it sounds cool.
