What the fuck did Firefox just do to my computer?!

Just got done playing a session of Halo 2 on Live, and when I pull up Firefox to checkout my stats, my homepage has been changed to a Firefox/Google screen welcoming me to version 1.0. To cap it off, most of my favorites have been deleted; mostly my wife's. WTF? I didn't download or install anything...I'm seriously thinking about going back to Explorer (at least my Favorites are still in tact).

Computer illiterates...

See how even FireFox users react to you, Ghaleon? They shouldn't do this, they should welcome you like family and help you with any problems you may have.

But even if you are a FireFox user, we still care over on the Explorer. Come join us again, Ghaleon, and you won't have to hear harsh comments such as these ever again.

It will have switched profiles on you. I don't really know how to change it back, but profiles are pretty dumb (especially if you're already on a multi-user system).

The only time I've seen the profile selection window is when firefox crashes (very rarely)

Never lost my bookmarks.
I'm sorry, but you're not the measure of normalcy. And this has nothing to do with computer illiteracy. Yes, you should back up your bookmarks, but this shouldn't happen as often as it does. It has only happened 3 times to me this year, but that's 3 more times than it has ever happened to me with IE or Opera. I love firefox and that's why I stick with it, but even I'm sick of the FF apologists around here. First, they step into every other browser thread and blindly post "USE FIREFOX!" when it would do nothing to solve the problem and too often is it a problem that both IE and FF share. Then, when someone has a query or problem with FF, they offer no solution just pathetic :lols and/or degenerate comments.

I've never lost my firefox bookmarks, either.

I noticed Firefox supposably patched some huge security hole the other day.. Just saw it at a glance didn't really look into it. Maybe something with that?

Nothing pisses me off more than folks who look down on people cuz they don't know everything about computers. Everyone has been a noob at one point or another.

Opera is a better transition for less savvy users.

Or lazy ones like me.
I use Opera while my wife uses Firefox. Mouse gestures are the reason I stay with Opera, plus it's ability to remember what you were doing if the program should crash (which doesn't happen often, but when it does it's nice to know that all of the windows I had open will open right back up when I start the program again).

Create a desktop shortcut to Firefox and puter -p after the quotes in the 'target' space(after right clicking > properties). Press ok and try launching from the shortcut and choose the your previous profile.

I'll never understand how people completely fly off the handle if Firefox so much as twitches the wrong way, declare it proof that it sucks, and proclaim to the world that they're going back to Internet Explorer because of it.

Relax.

I said relax.

This is a glitch that comes up when Firefox crashes or otherwise doesn't shut down properly, there are instructions on how to get back to where you were.
