This is some old out of touch grandpa shit with kids doing fortnite dances. That's what the kids like right? Shit looks like it was sponsored by Target and sounds like it belongs in a commercial. Kinda some creepy pedo shit when you watch it and listen to the lyrics.

Not exactly holding up like Tool, Deftones, or Korn, are they? Egh. Who is the market for this? Green Day managed to age their pop-punk gracefully. I never was a big fan of Blink 182, but it's still a shame to see these guys like this. Donny Osmand singing Soldier of Love sounded less out of place.

It does look exactly like a Target commercial.

They were never that great in the first place. This is their natural evolution.

One of them lost their mind, and became an alien conspiracy theorist. The other two are hitting their mid 40's, and their pop punk angst no longer works with the older fans, and is not something that appeals to the kids.

Green Day was able to do it for a single album. But even American Idiot was 15 years ago. It is not easy for any band to reach multiple generations. Especially if you do not grow. and your target audience is still high school students, which you are 25 years removed from.

I do think Take off your Pants and Jacket, and their self titled album are legitimately good albums. Dude Ranch and Enema of the State not so much. But they did grow and get better. They just imploded when crazy alien dude, went crazy alien on the band.

I don't even fucking know man. I used to love Blink so much too. Just please break up so the agonizing pain can stop.

Tom ended up looking like the smartest of them all for leaving, despite how everything looked when the split occurred.
 
At least old Blink had some decent pop-hook or lyrical loop. This is trash. Nothing in the song was memorable. At least Box Car Racer had Tom's whiny voice to demand your attention.

I can see this being used by Disney for a pre-teen Star Wars mini-series push, and that's how 90% of listeners will first hear the song.
 
I made it about 45 seconds before the cringe/embarrassment really started to set in and I had to shut it off.
 
Yeah, old guys and kids usually dont make for cool music videos.
I loved their 'Josie' video back in the day though. It had a prime Alyssa Milano and some dumb funny bits.

It sounds like Fall Out boy trying to do an impression of Flock of Seagulls.

Geez. At one point Blink 182 seemed like they had so much passion and creativity. They spun out three different bands that were all pretty good. Boxcar Racer, +44, Angels and Airwaves were all decent bands with different sounds. Oh well, I guess.

I think it has more to do with being out of touch than selling out.
 
They came across to me as a manufactured pop/rock band when they were new. Even if they weren't I didn't like them.

Apparently one of them is a conspiracy guy now

imo, it's pretty dishonest to call this Blink 182 without Tom. Mark and Travis had a side project with another member before - would be more legit to use that name

aside from the cringe vid, this song is generic and shitty. they used to have super great melodies in everything.

Eh. Pop punk as a genre is selling out. They're taking something that is supposed to be rebellious and anti-establishment and banalizing it, making it acceptable to the masses.

Okay, granted, punk was always heavily commercialized. The Sex Pistols were basically a punk version of the Monkees or the Village People. But it at least still tried to be offensive to people, especially the establishment.

Green Day did what a few other bands did at the time (System of a Down comes to mind) and made political albums at the end of their peak which caused them to self destruct. You're a rock band, nobody gives a shit about your political views on anything.
 
Ugh, they went from teen angst pop-punk to Disney Channel kiddie pop, brought to you by Target. The song is ok, but who ever gave the go ahead on this video needs their head checked. Blink is way better with Tom DeLonge. The California album was ok, but this song and that crap song with Little Wayne is just horrible.

At least Angels and Airwaves still feels and sounds relevant and puts out some good material.
