What the hell happened to Portishead?

Two phenomenal albums and a very respectable live joint then.....nothing. So where the hell are they. I think Beth is doing a project with someone else, however it cant compare to the brilliance of PH.

Beth Gibbons released a solo album with one of the members of Talk Talk a couple years back, but that's been it. There are rumors about a third studio album, but they've been around for years.

I know they record their own music, press it to viynal then sample the shit out of it. Could this be the reason for the delay?

That would not explain why it has taken over six years to release their third album. Perhaps the band is defunct.

There are continuing talk of the band getting together eventually to do something, but it never comes to anything. Beth has been doing stuff on the side, put out the cd with 'Rustin Man' and toured. (GOOD CD BUY OK) She also wrote 'Killing Time' for the Joss Stone album. She also is doing stuff with Jane Birkin and David Steel(Fine Young Cannibals). Utley and Barrows also do some side stuff, and Barrows I think was part of Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man. I recogized some of the band memebrs when I saw them play.

And out of all of that, there is constant peeps of them "finding time to work on a new album".

All the great bands from the second part of the '90 are gone or went to shit. I cant stand those shitty new bands. I need a hug

There is not a single "electronic" band that I can stand nowadays. Now people are fucking gone crazy with trying to out-obscure each other with those shitty IDM artists with TERRIBLE production value.

Those god damn 'indie' bands that manage to sell hundreds of thousands of copies are so freaking soulless and they have no longivity. I dont think people will still be listening to Wilco or Muse in 10 years, let alone half of it.

I'm gonna be forever stuck in the '90 the way things are going now. :(
