Since my team bottled it today, I could use something to make me laugh.
Personally, it's fairly easy to make me laugh, but it's something else to make me literally gasp for air. One of the earlier scenes I can remember that did that was the episode Bart the Daredevil. In the eponymous scene, Bart and Homer have a heartfelt dad and son moment which is directly followed by such a ridiculous resolution that you can't help but laugh. A lot. The part where the ambulance crashes sells it completely. Could not stop laughing.
One of the funniest movies I've seen in my lifetime is Monty Python: The Holy Grail. There are many fantastic scenes, but one that might not be the most obvious pick is The Knights who say Ni. It is so ridiculous, and unlike The Black Knight, it takes a while to build up. How King Arthur, the character Graham Chapman plays (RIP), went from "Not the Knights of Ni!" to "We shall do no such thing." because of the preposterous demands is just brilliant. The dramatic sound effect is used with great effect here. At the end he just ignores them and continues his quest. And to think the film only had a budget of $400,000.
One last movie I'd like to share, and one that isn't very known, is Sixty Million Dollar Man. It's Stephen Chow, so you're probably familiar with his style of comedy. There are many parodies of pop culture which he uses to great comedy effect. I'll just pick one where I remember I laughed my ass off. This scene happens after the main character, Stephen Chow, tries to fuck the girlfriend of a mob boss in a Pulp Fiction parody. You can't get away with that of course. So they go to this house and try to kill him. What happens here is so dumb it's funny in a way only Stephen Chow can make it work.
