What were the complaints about BO Legends?

DarienA

The black man everyone at Activision can agree on
I spent Thurs-Sunday with it almost in every free moment and I came away REALLY impressed... acceptable load times, most of the time a great sense of speed, no hiccups in the framerate that I saw, no problems driving in incoming traffic(once I got use to only looking for incoming headlights), all of the modes came across very well(crash mode obviously loses alot of the flying PIECES but it still plays very well), AI that was rubberbanded, but not too cheap and not too rubberbanded(you could get a huge lead in a few modes Eliminator is one that comes to mind)... At first I did have trouble taking out AI cars but the from behind full speed bump as well as the get next to them then boost and slam in to them worked well once I got in the groove... cars are easier to take out in Revenge though.. much easier... dare I say at times... too easy?

I'm just really impressed at how good a job they did in putting on the PSP... I missed the other thread what were the beefs about it?

That it takes over your PSP and refuses to give it back... (At least until GTA comes down next month, and maybe Virtua Tennis)

A truely fabolous game that I didn't mind spending 50 bucks on as a portable title.

My only complaint is that there are some crash bugs (getting too close to the wall in tunnels with a fast car sometimes results in you crashing without touching anything, and I've beaten more than one pursuit race without ever reaching the target car)

My only complaint is the lack of filtering making things a bit of a pixely scrawl at times.

But in the grand scheme of things that is outweighed by the games awesomeness.

And it is awesome, sooo awesome... *strokes PSP*

Yeah, online would've made it truly great. But as it is, it's a fantastic game. My main complaint is that it's difficult for me to play it after playing Revenge. Sometimes I'll forget that it's Legends, and check the traffic in front of me to try and take out the other cars. :lol

Just the rough image quality and the lack 60...

It's a much more pixelated looking game than any other PSP racer I've played and 60 fps is missed. Other than that, it rocks.

for a game that is supposed to combine 1, 2, and 3, having absolutely no crash junctions from 2, is nothing short of retarded

considering the crash mode in 2 is STILL THE BEST DAMMIT.

No. It's not. :D

In fact, I'd call it downright boring.

One thing I found very annoying is that traffic vehicles are subject to pop up. I've had several head on collisions because an oncoming car would just pop up like 50 yards in front of me.

Another thing is that some of the old courses just don't fit with the Burnout 3 style of gameplay.

The sound track isn't my cup of tea but there are a couple tracks I like. I just wish EA had some regular BGM for options and menus and stuff. I would rather listen to repetitve, forgettable BGM when I'm looking at what cars I have then crappy Emo.

However, all the "problems" with BO Legends are minor and do not detract from the over all greatness of this game.

no DJ striker! ;)

the tunes are not particularly to my taste

other than that , best game on PSP.

I love this excuse. I've been pimping it since Outrun

It's an excellent game, my 2nd best on the PSP after Lumines (and you can't compare these two, except by purely aesthetetic preference).

Two things come to mind:
- tendency of AI cars to "cheat" in traffic collisions – you are tailgating one driver, then suddenly it pops aside and you collide with a lorry it had just sort of passed through.
- pursuit mode doesn't use the takedown mechanic properly. Instead, you have to whittle away the energy bar which doesn't take into account how hard you pound the target.
