What would you like to see in Resident Evil 5?

They need to add mutant dinosaurs and jetpacks and set it in the future. Power ups would be cool as well, such as invisibility and super speed. Finally they really need to up the monkey factor I don't remember one monkey in that game and that my friends, is just wrong. You could have a squad of monkeys that you could command like rainbow 6. If they get all that in there it may well be perfect.

- Get rid of the stupid QTE-like sections (except if it's like in the Krauser fight, that was cool).

- Fix the controls. It shouldn't take 3 seconds to swing your weapon from one side to the other. Also, you should be able to walk while aiming your gun (though not necessarily walking while shooting). And the camera should be moved a bit to the back so you can see more of the character's surrounding area.

- I thought the village section in RE4 was the least interesting, while the later parts felt more in line with those from previous games. Also, the prison was the only creepy area in the whole game. More of those would be awesome.

- Bring back ranking when you finish the game. There was little incentive to replay RE4.

- The ability to toss grenades while shooting should be included.

Actually, I felt that having to do Assignment Ada/the Mercenaries for super weapons was a much better idea than the ranking system because both missions are true tests of game playing skill and really gave meaning to the "survival" in survival horror, whereas the rankings pretty much rewarded players for not playing the game and running past every enemy and side stop without exploring

I agree with that, but I still wished they had a ranking system of some sort to gauge our performance. I ought to get something for getting 100% hit ratio dammit!

Despite how much RE4 had packed into it RE5 still has so much potential for new things that could make the experience even better.

I think it would be neat to have more "Ada's Assignment" type unlockables so we could get story details from the other character's perspective.

Have to keep the interactive cutscenes (Qte? What does that stand for?).

More weapons and enemies is a dur. As well as more interactivity with the environments.

Maybe let other character be interactive. Such as we could've had a level or two to play as Luis, although you could just have saved a bonus level as "Luis' Assignment"

I mean, I can say "more, more, more" all I want but the real aspect lacking in RE4 was it's horror factor- so try to work that in as well as keeping the intense action.

Man, I don't even want to think about RE5 - the possibilities are endless and it's too damn far away. :(

EDIT: Oh I forgot to mention where I'd like it to take place - which is a huge, huge factor. I liked the idea with the White House. I was also thinking more of the village's woodsy type of areas. And maybe it could take place during the winter and you can see invisible enemies footprints and stuff. That'd be neat.

Your never gonna let that go are you? :lol

I agree with Truelize ideas all of them make sense and stay true to the franchise. Things like Running while shooting were some of the first things they added to the first version of RE4 that became DMC and it just doesn't feel right for the series. I think thats one of the reasons why the DMC sereis even exists.

Would have rocked if the merchant threw you that rocket launcher instead of ada.

STRANGER! Its on the house. Heh Heh Heh Heh

I cannot put into words how kickass that would have been. Genius.

One of the few things I disliked about RE4 was the fact that they didn't flesh out anyone that much but they didn't flesh out the Merchant AT ALL. What was his purpose and why was he there? Was he THAT desperate for Pestas that he went to a plagas infected village to take your hard earned loot? It would of been so cold if he was a new permenant character in the series with a back-story and purpose.

definitely weapon switching on the fly. in some capacity. it'd be great to switch back and forth between a pistol and a shotgun, or a shotgun and a rifle, without going into the menu and interrupting the action. the "disappearing weapons" problem is already in re4 -- look what happens when you draw your knife. and anyway, it wouldn't be impossible to implement holstering animations, if it's important. i think it could be handled almost like a zelda game: let the player equip two weapons, and assign a trigger to each one.

more fluid movement and at least some degree of movement in combat would be great too. the game can devolve into a static shooting gallery, though the rich behaviors and reactions of the enemies enliven it somewhat. i don't know if i'd call the absence of these features a "flaw"; re4's controls are entirely adequate, and the aiming controls are excellent. but i think their addition would make it that much better as an action game.

edit: and yeah, being able to toss grenades without going into the menu would be great too. actually a lot of this stuff could be implemented in the ps2 version of re4...four shoulder buttons. but it's not gonna happen.

It would have been interesting if the merchant was some kind of ex-Illuminados who opposed Saddler, or was an Umbrella agent tracking Leon under a guise and had the additional assignment of killing Saddler without getting his hands dirty, or was simply just some nut who came to the village just to revel in watching people die, but yeah, they could have done SOMETHING with him

I'd like to see non-linear horror. You'd have larger areas with less linearity, where you could go anywhere (perhaps a neighborhood or a city where you can enter buildings, maybe a forest). Think of 28 Days Later in the beginning where he wakes up in a zombie infested world and his new objective in life is to run or find safety among allies.

I'm gonna repeat a lot said here already, but here's what I'd like to see:

1. Set in an American city infected by an advanced Las Plagas (T/G/Veronica-Virus or various combos + the original Las Plagas).

2. Be able to blow off limbs, and later those limbs be replaced with the parasites.

3. Many main characters from previous episodes. Chris, Claire, Jill, Leon, Rebecca, etc.

4. Main characters have different strengths and weaknesses (speed, precision, endurance, strength, etc).

5. More weapons. :)

6. Not everyone is an enemy. Maybe you can enlist temporary help in exchange for some cash if a survivor is crazy enough.

Things I am thinking of right now include a shit load more weapons (the upgrade system made it such that you could choose a weapon that met your tastes.)

and the merchent being playable for mercenaries. "Hehehe" *opens coat/kicks ass*

EDIT: since the series is all into jet setting now, a game set at least for a portion in the middle east would be fucking awesome.

With this, there MUST be a death pyramid area, or else
