What would your dictatorship be like?

Suppose you're a dictator and have your own country. You can shape your country to be anything you like, but you can't make any decisions based on what your people want. You are a dictator after all, so it's all about what you want.

Your country has a huge amount of ressources so there are no limits. What would your country look like?

I'd like to change everything to 1950s America.
 
My country would just be slums surrounding my giant castle. Leading up to the entrance of the castle would be a line of the country's women who all had to wait their turn to perform sexual acts on/with me. The men would be laborers who gave their lives to building/maintaining my castle.
 
My dictatorship would be a mass transit paradise. Big coastal cities like NYC, huge national parks like Yellowstone. Money would be poured into science, education, space programs, alternative energy, etc.

I would let everything operate as it were but maintain a large social presence and threaten (in private) to ruin any of my political enemies.

I'd be the most benevolent and most feared ruler of all time.
 
I'd become an insular, hermit kingdom, starve every last one of my people to death so that I can live out my days parading around my beautiful, resource rich countryside undisturbed by the general populace. I'd probably sell some resources to buy some nukes just to troll the world and get left alone.

"Do what thou wilt" social-Darwinist warzone. It'd be hell on Earth for some, paradise for others. I'm not a dictator so much as the man with the most power and influence. People can do as they please, unless I tell them to do otherwise.
 
I would have a haram filled with Asian guys in thongs. Everyone can do what the wish as long as I have my men

He is being selfish. He wants to have the joy of knowing he made millions of people happy. He can't have that by grinding their faces into the dust.
 
I'll make it so there is a 1% tax on all goods that goes straight to my pocket. After that, I will hold elections to get someone to do all the work while I enjoying my growing pile of money >:)
 
Pour all funds and focus all education, research, engineering and resource gathering on building a giant laser that orbits around the Earth. Effectively allowing me to rule the entire world...

most of you guys country wouldn't even exist for much longer than a few years, even with a lot of resources

i bet you guys would say that everyone in your country will be making 6 figures.
 
I would depose myself because I know myself to be truly and deeply evil when allowed.

day 1: puppy's for all!

day 3: puppy feast, one fried puppy for all. Those who don't feast will be shot.

I would crown myself emperor and rule from a palace made completely out of piled up human skulls, with a magnificent throne room where only the few may enter. The skulls would be from the dead enemies that fell when I conquered the rest of the world, but after that I'd rule benevolent like the great emperor Marcus Aurelius.

Pretty Much. Although mine would be a Dictatorship of the Technocratic type.
 
i'd hit the reset button on every failed public institution (i.e. all of them), "set it right," and then sit back for direct democracy.

Yeah, the good ol' days when women, minorities and the Irish knew their place in society.
 
It would just turn out to be every single strategy game I've ever played.

I wouldn't usurp money from the people for myself since I don't really need it, but I'd invest in education, infrastructure, domestic economy and the military.

I'd push for a strong sense of nationalism and adaptable monoculture and constantly abuse the tendency of my neighbors ideologies toward mutual cooperation, with behind the scenes antagonism that preferences my country over theirs until they are forced to take action, which then enables me to crush them in retaliation and expand my borders until everything the sun touches is but one nation.

I would also install a system that eliminates all forms of direct democracy in favor of a technocratic and noocratic approach to avoid any progress being dismantled by a successor or 'the people'.
