An Apple computer or NOD32. Take your pick.

Note to self: People that don't know answers to obvious PC Qs can help themselves in the future.

An Apple a day keeps the doctor away! You get it? Apple computers don't get viruses like, ever? Oh man, I hope there's nothing about horrible jokes in the TOS.

McAfee and Norton are the WORST you can have. Resource hogs and don't scan all that well!! (And I've tested them all -- even for work)

AVG is your best pick. Least obtrusive, very low on resources, get's a good amount of virusses (Can't beat Kapersky in this aspect) and it's FREE!!

Kapersky is the best scanner, bar none. But you need to pay for it. Only thing that kinda sucks about AVG is that is has no built-in firewall.

I use CA eTrust at work and Common Sense 2.0 at home. Both seem to be doing the job well enough.

best? Kaspersky...

i assume you mean best at protecting your PC, not best at not using resources or most popular name or best at other things that don't protect your PC...

NOD32 is the best if you're willing to pay for one. Heck, even Microsoft uses it!

AVAST & AVG are both highly regarded, light on the resources, and best of all FREE!

Take your pick. Stay away from the bloated piles of dung from Norton and to a lesser extent, McAfee.

panda is very good, but another resource hog and it fucks with some programs. kaspersky actually shuts off my internet connection.
i use antivir now, very lean and its FREE.

I went over to NOD32's website, whats the difference between the commercial version and the one you can purchase?

PC = NOD32

The antivirus that MS licenses year after year, the package that scores 100% year after year in the Virus Bulletin test.

The interface isn't the most "newbie" friendly, but it's a great package.
