What's the best Star Wars game?

Scrow

Still Tagged Accordingly
Doesn't matter what genre it is.

Doesn't matter what system it was released on.

Doesn't matter what time period within the SW universe it is set.

Doesn't matter when it was released.

As long as there are Jedi/Sith doing cool shit with light sabers and the force. Which is the best Star Wars game currently out there?

You guys are all on crack. I just ended the thread with Empire Strikes Back for the Super Nintendo!

That game was so much fun.

Boring and unfun - an ideal of example of a BAD MOTS sequel.

Almost nothing has been changed, rushed to the market, planet were drab and dull (in my opinion) etc.

OT: I love your avatars Scrow. Where's the original skull from?

google :)

i'm trying to think of extra additions, but none are coming to mind. Don't say Samus though. I've tried and tried, it just doesn't work.

Some of you arent reading the question.

KOTOR probably edges out Super Star Wars in my book.

several mentions of the original KOTOR. Was there anything wrong with KOTOR2?
KOTOR2 is good until the last couple of hours when it falls apart big time.

KOTOR had everything you want from a star wars game though, the presentation the music the twist...and best of all it wasnt a retelling of one of the films.

I have to give another vote to KOTOR. Despite the bugs, the loading times, the dated graphics, despite ALL of that, that game engrossed me like no other.

X-WING / TIE FIGHTER FTW
Dark Forces / Jedi Knight for a close second
KOTOR for a rather distant third because the dungeonesque hack and slash gameplay just didn't really suit the Star Wars feel.. great game otherwise.

TIE Fighter

Anyone who says KOTOR is the best has never played TIE Fighter, plain and simple. KOTOR is merely a close second. :P

umm.. TIE Fighter did that 11 years ago AND stuck you in the middle of the best trilogy instead of some lame galactic backstory.

OOhh.. and Dark Forces might be second. Forogt about that one. Another game that had the presentation, music, mood, and twist and yet didn't rely on the OT for much of anything aside from setting.

Seriously, I wonder if some of you people remember when Star Wars games were actually good and looked forward to. X-Wing, TIE Fighter, Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, expansion packs..

How can they remember?

Those were PC games.

The X-wing series and Tie Fighter are the best.

KOTOR was merely decent.. but I've never really enjoyed Bioware's RPGs anyway.

There have been many good Star Wars games. But Tie Fighter stood the highest. Its aged now but its a good reason to play the Rogue Squadron series.

The original 3d arcade games were great for their time too. :)

Im with you, the empire strikes back was awesome.

But apart from that, the xwing and tie fighter series were cool as well. And for the best saber fights there's Jedi Knight 2, outcast.

TIE Fighter was such an amazing game back then. The original Star Wars arcade game is also one of my all time favourites. And the graphics whore in me wants to say Rogue Leader / Rebel Strike, but the gameplay is very uneven there.

oh, it's all good. I like Star Wars mostly for the Jedi/Sith stuff, but who can pass up on a good dog fight in space?
