book-ock-eh. more or less. "book" as in those things you read. it occurs to me that i've never had cause to say "bukkake."

I always thought it was Bew(like jew)-cack-ee.

I have no idea though. Doesn't seem to come up in every day conversation.

I pronounce it as "boo-cockie" which is probably horribly wrong.

Well it depends... are you trying to say it like Japanese...or English.. For example we say Karaoke with the sound key for the ke as well as sake...with the key.. when really the ke sound is Keh...

While we're on the subject, I mastered every character of Hiragana yesterday for my test today. It seriously took me like 5 hours :(

So who ACTUALLY knows the answer, because we've had quite a few variations so far.

I find it interesting that people are pronouncing the "a" as an "o". Why are you doing that? I suppose it could be right, I just don't see why you would do it if you don't know to. I can understand there are variations on what it should be, like the a from cat, or eh, or ah, but o?

5 hours? Isn't that pretty good. Took me a lot longer than 5 hours.

I don't know, it may have been more. The point is I stupidly did it all in one day when I had all weekend

Look at Hitokage's reply.

it's a romiji of a japanese word... japanese letters are phonetic. There's only one way you can really say it!

Bu (as in Boo, but not as 'long') - Ka(h) - ke(h)

To all the "boo" people, because there's a double consonant (kk), the first syllable is more like book than boo.

There's a huge difference in the way you say (and hear) say "kite" vs "kitte".

BOO-COCK-EH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks goodcow. I've been saying it outloud in various weird ways for 5 minutes now.

BUKKAKE!

I wouldn't say a 'huge' difference, unless you're enunciating carefully and unnaturally.

I really wish that if you didn't know Japanese, you wouldn't have responded in this thread.

Thanks for propagating ignorance.

Not really referring to you, with my comment above, but wanted to also reply to the double consonant thing.

To a Japanese listener, there's a big difference. At least, to know they're different words. The flow of the word is changed because of the stop the double-consonant induces.

Hitokage is right. Though I would right it out like this: buhk-kah-kay.

There's only word way to pronounce Japanese words like this. Learn the basic rules of Japanese pronounciation, and you can easily pronounce any Japanese word you ever see written (in romaji, anyway). It's really very easy.

'Not really' huh?

You could've given me the benefit of the doubt instead of being another jackass on the internet handing out arrogant backhanded comments (I'm not mad, but I'm just sayin'!..)

fyi: I speak/understand Japanese, studied since '98. I live in the country and have heard the stuff everyday for 4 years now. And I say 'huge' is relative to what your meaning of that word is (I would have chosen 'significant' instead). But that's just my opinion, and maybe a native speaker would have an entirely different take on the subject of double-consanants.

I don't know, I think the difference between kite and kitte is pretty big. I can certainly hear it, and I've only formally studied Japanese for about 6 weeks during this summer. :)

Odd how there is no pronunciation guide on dictionary.com

Main Entry: bukkake
Function: noun
Definition: usually considered vulgar: a sex act in which one or more men ejaculate on a kneeling woman
Etymology: Japanese pornography: literally, act of splashing

Bah, dumb semantics games. There is a difference, it's pronounced kit-te, and any other pronounciation without a sentence surrounding it would result in scratching heads on the listener's part.

You had a lot to say about Japan this summer for somebody visiting/studying the language for only 6 weeks (alot of which I disagreed with)

Main Entry: bukkake
Function: noun
Definition: What porn addicts turn to after they get bored with blowjob videos
