What's the story behind your current avatar?

I was screwin around with my cousin on WoW and we decided to do dual warlock bg fun. We spent a good amount of time figuring out funny names and I just came up with BumperLips and it stuck. Helped that the goblin I chose actually looked like she had them lol.

And then I remembered Gaki no tsukai's 24-hour Hospital Batsu game. GNT is like a comedy variety show in Japan. The usual comedians are Downtown (Matsumoto and Hamada) Cocorico (Tanaka and Endo) and Yamazaki. The 24-hour Batsu game is something they do at the end of the year where they have them in various fake places of work and they can't laugh for 24-hours or they get punished each time. Its hilarious stuff.

Anyways, at one part Hamada had to wear these ridiculous big fake lips and it just looked stupid funny. And I thought itd be perfect for my avatar lol
 
I made this avatar at 1am. It was completely random, and I thought I should have something that could match the NeoGaf dark theme. Someone complimented it even though it took two minutes ;D
 
It's a stylization of a Mother 3 character. And I always sort of thought it accurately represented the way I can be... like, sometimes I come bearing gifts. But then sometimes you open the present and there's just shit inside. like a christmas sweater or some shit.

I think Carina is pretty hot and GotG is on my list as one of my all time favorite movies.

Lucas right? Looks like it's from famitsu given the style.

I used to buy famitsu religiously at a local Japanese bookstore a long time ago.
 
Painted it to commemorate the release of Skyward Sword plus being a general fan of Gundam. It's probably time for a change

Publius Helvius Per(t)inax Augustus ( I can't believe I missed that "t"). Roman emperor who served for only 86 days before being murdered by his own Praetorian Guards, mostly because he refused to bribe them enough and wanted them to actually behave like soldiers. I liked the name and the story behind him seemed equal parts tragic and hilarious.

My avatar was made to remind them of it everyday and to show them what the superior meme is.
 
rocketeer is a great movie. for me.

then 'year of luigi' happened and i helped put luigi hats on a lot of people's avatars.

put one on mine and it was a personal photoshop victory.

year of luigi ended, but i cant give up on what i consider to be great work.

yup, Lucas. And yeah, it's from a Famitsu magazine cover when Mother 3 was about to come out. You can actually still make out a bit of the Famitsu mascot in the avatar.
 
I AM GROOT!
As far as I can tell, I've had a Groot avatar the longest. Ever since the first teaser trailer.
I've done some modifications along the way.
 
I know nothing about the character of Sandman, but I like the aesthetics of the "Crime fighters in suit and ties" like The Spirit and Green Hornet combined with the creepy gas mask.

My past few avatars have been him.
 
He's just so angry.

The original has him wearing his classic overalls. Changed it into his Wario Ware get-up just 'coz
 
From the film "Some Kind of Wonderful" written by John Hughes, one of his lesser known works. It's the protagonist's overlooked love interest.

Updated my avatar to this since I was tagged and got my username changed. Felt appropriate, to me anyway.

I loved that movie. They weren't love interests though. She was his best friend and she developed feelings.
