What's up with ZoE2

I never really heard much about it, but I just saw my first screens of it a few minutes ago. I'm checking out the gamespot review right now, and was wondering what people think. Looks like it could be fun, so what's the good word?

it's one of the best action games ever. and if you haven't heard much about it then we as gafers have failed you. go, find it, play it.

damn sounds like finding a used copy is out. We're having a bit of a snow in in Denver right now, so I think ill go try to snag a copy before I hole up for the night. :) I need some fast action and I'm hearing all good things.

I am replaying it right now. How do you locate the guy who is hiding in a transport box? He keeps crying and whining etc but when I go near him nothing happens! Which botton combo to press?

definitely one of the best games on the ps2. took me forever to find it, but the search was worth it. you'll probably have to get it off ebay.

press square very carfully. if you hit it to hard the box will be destroyed iirc.

and what box his in is randomly. just remember the hint he gives you (number, colour, warehouse)

Enjoy it because we might never see a new game in the series. Which is a shame considering what they'd be capable of next gen (Murata mentioned in one interview that they'd come up with more ideas after completing ZOE2).

Yeah, I recently purchased ZOE and ZOE2. ZOE2 was very hard to find, but I finally got it off eBay after a month or so of looking. Pretty much in mint condition for 30USD. Hopefully you can find a good copy there.

DAMN! after an extensive search, nothing. A gamestop i Called said they had a copy, but they could never find it once I got there :/ So I ordered it "pre-owned' from gamestop.com.. Game + overnight shipping for 27.99. Not bad, but now I have to wait 2 days for it to get here. It was very funny that most clerks I called didn't have to check the computers. "no, if we had it, I'd know" "good luck finding it". oh well, I'll freak out about it when iot gets here.

it's not as good as the fans make it out to be, I'm glad I resold it for so high after finishing it in so sort of time. Worth the play throught though.

Good luck with waiting, it's an awesome game. :D You won't be sorry!

When you get it, lock yourself up, cause it's one of the best rides out there!

mm Date of Lies :)

It's a great little game, one of the best on PS2. It's kind of short, but there are not many dull moments, even on the second playthrough. My only complaint was that that there weren't enough levels like that fight with the four(?) capial ships, that level was amazing.

God of War and ZOE2 are great games. Just because you don't think they are better than Zelda or DMC 3 doesn't mean they suck or aren't worth owning.

I think Zelda is highly overrated series but you don't see me going around saying GoW is better than Zelda or it's not worth owning or some bs like that.

oh yes ssx. the cutscene before the battle is so fucking awesome. seriously, one of the best cutscenes before a battle ever.

I never said that, I said ZOE2 was worth the play throught, start practicing reading comprehension.

I'm not here to hate. I still bought and played throught ZoE2 and GoW so I think I'm allowed to share what I thought of them.

Although I really liked Z.O.E 2 a lot....I am a God of War WHORE!!!!

God of War > Z.O.E 2
yeah i agree. god of war is on another level. zoe2 is still a masterpiece though :)

ZoE 2... wow, brings back memories! My buddies and I were in LOVE with the first one (even the multiplayer mode -- the weird camera angle was a different story, but we got used to it pretty fast)

Man.. ZoE2 is honestly perfect! Makes me wanna go play now!!!

No, some posts in this thread are simply wrongly skewed. Second Runner is fine tuned and the fighting is more balanced than God of War's. GOW depends too heavily on just throwing more enemies at you that just block and attack way more frequently.

Hell yes. Noticing that radar screen right before the carnage started is seriously one of my all-time favorite gaming moments. "You've got to be shitting me...OK they're not shitting me!"
:lol

I think that was everyone reaction when they saw that.
It's like there's never a moment in that battle where something isn't exploding. And the speed you get while zipping through there is awesome.

Hopefully something will convince Kojima to get Murata on another ZOE after MGS4 completes.

Comparing ZoE 2 to GoW? Although I find GoW to be an enjoyable action game, and I did enjoy it thorgoughly, it does not hold a candle to ZoE 2. No chance.

ZoE 2 is one of my favorite PS2 games. I think I am going to join those who are replaying it right now and boot the game up. :D

I just recently got ZOE2 and it's cool action with a decent story...looks great as well.

But one thing that bothers me is the amount of buttons, moves etc to keep track of. It's like the they just kept adding functions without thinking how it would actually work out in the game. Surely they could've made the controls simpler...and the camera is a bit wonky as well, since you never have direct control over it.

Oh please! Some of the moves aren't needed, anyway. I don't know why people complain about "simplistic" controls or complexity. It makes Shiggy look good when he said "controllers are complicated" or something in the lines of that.

Are you new to the series? I ask only because they did this in the first game as well, and it worked out perfectly. I found ZOE2 to be one of the most balanced (well before you get Zero Shift) action titles this generation.
