For the last couple of days, every so often, the fan will get all loud for a minute or two. Any idea what might be causing this?

Sounds like a VRF, in other words; There may be dust obstructing the cooling, causing it to run warmer, and the fan to increase in speed.

Shut it off, blow the dust off, and see if that fixes it.

too much dust collected in the fan.
replace it, if you hate being annoyed by the noise.

Ok, I tried shutting it off and blowing on the fan. We'll see if that works. If not, I'll open the case up and clean it out.

Hell if I'm getting it replaced. I just got this PC in August.
