What's your favorite games for your handheld? Need some suggestions.

Ok, so I purchased the Rog Xbox Ally X. Other than the well-known complaints about Windows getting in the way of my gaming, I'm actually enjoying it alot. I'm playing through Silksong on it right now and I'm nearing it's completion.

I tried a few other of my steam games, like POE2 (I do not recommend) Dragon Ball Sparking Zero (works surprisingly well) and Outer Worlds 2 (also a no go for various reasons which I found out very early on).

I'm looking for some recommendations, mainly focusing on Steam as I cancelled my Gamepass sub after the price hikes and only sub for a month at a time. Steam does have a "Great on Deck" category in their store, but there's a problem.

Some of their games don't work so great, and other that are not on there do actually work well. So I reach out to my brethren who are more experienced than I in this space. Based on performance and you're own experience.

Lay it on me, doesn't matter the preference, just toss em out and I'll sift through them. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, indies galore. 2d platformers, metroidvanias, pixel RPGs, etc. I have fond memories of playing through the following games on my deck:

  • Death's Door
  • Cult of the Lamb
  • Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
  • Vampire Survivors
  • Hades
  • Hollow Knight
  • Salt & Sanctuary
  • Power Wash Simulator
  • Cat Quest
  • Divinity Original Sin

Interesting.

Divinity original Sin is good on handhelds? I own the 2nd one, have you also tried Baldurs Gate 3 on handheld?

Mad Max and Hitman: World of 🍑🍑ination played pretty well on my Deck
ohhh hitman, good call I own the reboot and the sequel. I bought the 3rd one for Xbox back when it first came out but they been kinda weird with how they distribute this game, with the episodic thing. Can I just download one of those games and access the other missions in-game?

I played about 20 hours or so of it on the deck with no issues.

I haven't picked up Baldur's Gate 3 yet, but it's on my wish list for sure. That one just got an update for the Steam Deck to make it a little more friendly:

Still in the 30-40fps range, so expectations should be in check.

For me, I stick to games the deck can run above 40fps at (almost) all times as smoothness is top priority to me. I have plenty on the backlog to work through anyway. I would save BG3 for the PC.
