A lesser known movie from the 90's is The Game (1997), an another gem from David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club, Zodiac, ...) and by far my favorite movie with Michael Douglas.
Small Soldiers sure was an odd one. But damn was it entertaining and well cast. It managed to make the toy commandos downright frightening.

You mentioned oldboy, so have you watched the whole "Vengeance trilogy"? Three movies by the oldboy director, Sympathy for Mr Vengeance, Oldboy, and Lady Vengeance are the three. They're not direct sequels to each other or anything but they all follow plots about--you guessed it--vengeance, and they're all good
I did not know about the Vengence trilogy , I will take a took a look at Mr Vengeance and Lady Vengeance. I loved Oldboy like my top 3 favorite film all time , so ill take a look at those 2.

I can’t personally call any nostalgia from the 90s, as an 80s baby (81) Goonies is my jam. I was always into exploring and treasure hunting. It dropped in ‘85, and you have probably seen it, but if not, that’s my suggestion lol

I have seriously never met anyone in my life who hasn’t seen it, but I’m also from the states and haven’t been out of country since my Dad was in the military in the mid 80s (stationed in Sardinia, Italy). It's a horror, it's very unique, and in my humble opinion, it's pretty terrifying. The 'car chase' scene still fucks with my head to this day, so creepy.
