Every wednesday I go to a professors house and play poker with other CS guys and professors. I've only come away with slim winnings for the most part, (i usually always get a huge stack first few hands then lose it quickly). I'm curious if there's any odd type hands that you guys play, due to superstitions.

For me I always play 7 2 for laughs.

Me and a bunch of friends have poker night at least once a month. I always play 3, 5 if I can see the flop for cheap. It seems like I hit a straight every time I fold it. I like suited cards, even if they aren't connected also. And I'll never play pocket jacks because they lose 99.9% of the time.

I won our last poker night. 8 people, $15 buy in, and 2nd place got their $15 back. 4 hours of poker bliss.

I hate KJ and Q9 now. Had K, J and 10 of diamonds showing on the board while holding Q of diamonds. River came up as 8 of diamonds, decided to bet big even though I barely missed the straight flush and only one card in the deck could beat me. Betting against a dude with a big stack that had bullied hands before I bet 15 bucks into the already big pot. He goes all in which for me to call has to put my last 50 bucks in. After thinking a while I call it, he had the Ace of diamonds and I didn't play poker for the next month, haha. Started that day with 50 bucks, got over 100, back down to 16, back up to 90 and eventually had nothing.

BTW, I like 6-9 suited.

queen-10 is the hand I never lose with.

Too bad I didn't get that in a tournament 2 weeks back. Lost on an all-in K-J against A-K before the flop.
