When Drew got to drive the Batmobile around, and they did that MiB spoof episode?Matlock said:When did the Drew Carey Show cross the line between "silly" and "fucking stupid?"
Matlock said:What's more, I heard that Kate was written out of the show about a season or so before it ended.!

Grizzlyjin said:I found it really funny how people didn't know if the show was cancelled or not. Everybody thought it got booted off the air, then some new episode would pop up five months later. :lol
I did notice how they just took the show too far. It pretty much turned into a live action cartoon by the end...
It's just a gamble either way. The long-term contract can be a good deal if a show rockets to popularity. The Friends and Seinfeld people were re-negotiating huge salaries every year, but if the network had locked them in at a low price to start with then they could have saved a lot of money. The bad news is that if you bet wrong, then you are stuck with a dog of a show for years on end.Dan said:And yeah, a 5 year contract sounds familiar. I know it was something ridiculously stupid for the network to do.

bonesquad said:Yeah I can't believe I used to like this show. I think it went downhill when Drew hooked up with Kate. It ruined a lot of things. And then when his archnemesis Mimi moved in with him and his brother... WTF? Then Kate left the show (replaced by that girl from Titus), Drew's job changed, Mr. Wick was no longer his boss (and I still can't believe he has his own talk show now...)...
It snowballed to aweful so fast I haven't watched it at least 3 years.
