After the news of Pokemon Gen 10 being released of 2027 instead of 2026, I saw discussion of a new 3D Mario being released in 2026, so I felt to make a poll about it.

It better be this year, otherwise I'm gonna beat up Reggie at GDC next week.

I do actually think it will be this holiday now, and that's why Pokemon is 2027. They've rushed Pokemon out to hit the holiday release date before, the only reason it makes sense really to not do it now is that they have another big game that targets the same quadrant. The only thing remotely comparable to mainline Pokemon is 3D Mario.

It's been almost ten years since Odyssey so they should have it ready for the end of this year. There's no way that they'd solely rely on DK. Mario is the system seller.

I'd be shocked if it didn't come, unless they chose to have a 2D Mario instead and then 3D in 2027.

we know the team that made odyssey did donkey kong

so for it to come out in 2026, or even 2027, a different team would have been on it, so it's possible but what team

3D Mario is the only thing big enough to warrant a franchise as big as Pokemon being moved to 2027. I'm taking the safe bet with the caveat that Nintendo may have another megaton we can't imagine up it's sleeve.

This is related to sales, if sales drop, Mario will arrive quickly. Then, zelda, then new next gen old etc

A game isn't a perishable product, this Mario game is already finished, and the next Mario game for the Switch 3 has already begun. That's how it works. Nintendo only has 1000 programmers, think about the visuals of these games ?

They have several big titles to play, and I feel like a new Animal Crossing might be the 2026 game.

I expect something like Luigi's Mansion 4 in 2027 alongside Pokemon.

I don't see why the Bonanza team wouldn't be the ones making the new 3D Mario.
