When does the DS....

both are backlit now, i don't think they're going to super backlight the DS.

No, I'm talking about the higher quality display they are now using in the GBA SP'S. Surely the DS will get the same treatment no?

DS SP:

- Super-backlit screen
- Buttons like GB Micro
- Better design, less plastic
- Drop GBA compatibility to lessen price and size?
What about expansion carts?

You forgot the d-pad

They can redesign the DS all they want, but PLEASE don't touch the GBA compatibility.

I love switching between Final Fantasy 1&2 and Advance Wars DS. The DS hasn't made the GBA a thing of the past, but it's made owning one obsolete.

Both the DS screen, Micro screen and now SP screen is backlit --- then should be the same lighting wise.
Are you telling us that the backlight in the new SP is actually brighter than the one in the DS screens!?!?!?!?

No, the topic maker just doesn't know what he's talking about.

Edit: That is to say, the new SP screen isn't any better for GBA games than the current DS screen is for them.

I don't know if it's my Nintendo redesign paranoia that was hitting me but i had the shadow of a doubt for a second! :lol

what? don't make me take my glove off and duel you. The new GBA SP screen has a much richer color then the DS. That is fact. Maybe YOU don't know what you're talking about? HMM? HMM??

Considering I just cracked and ordered a white DS, I would be quite happy for a redesign to be as far off as possible. October 2006 seems a good bet though.

A/S/L?

:lol
as a good friend of mine once put it

"Unless you hit that 1/100 chance of getting that perfect lighting level and placement... or you live on the sun"

The Micro D-pad is the best D-pad I have ever used. Yes I like it better then the Sega Saturn pad. It is just great. The dropped GBA slot will not happen. I hope the buttons are the Micro's and the design smaller. I wonder what the response would be if Nintendo made the screens slightly bigger. GAF would be at war.

Huh? The new GBA SP screen is quite obviously brighter and clearer than the DS screen.
