DD: I think we've reached an understanding. For the record, I don't think Bushnell designed *any* videogames. I was making the comparison to *all* coin-ops, which I think he's responsible for. It's hard to know if we would have had coin-ops or not, or if videogames would have been strictly a home phenomenon without him. I think there would have been-- but it's not a given.

Now I'm curious -- did Bushnell design anything? I know he hired a guy (I forget his name) who actually built the Computer Space and Pong cabinets... Bushnell did something at some point, though.

I still think the whole Breakout story is amusing... Steve Jobs started designing Breakout at Atari, but couldn't get it finished... so he convinced his pal, Steve Wozniak, to finish it for him. Steve Jobs then proceeded to swipe parts from the Atari warehouse so that Wozniak could design the Apple.
