It's kind of weird I can't recall the last time I at BBQ at a BBQ? I usually go to a BBQ spot or we just buy a family pack meal in bulk.

I mean:

Ribs
Brisket
Pulled Pork
BBQ Chicken

We have a nice spread:

Burgers
Hotdogs
Brats
Grilled Chicken (Lemon and Herb marinade)
Salmon Steaks
Kabobs
Mac n Cheese
Potato Salad
Russian Salad
Hawaiian Rolls

Maybe we're cheating ourselves but I thought it was odd maybe need to cook home BBQ more. What about you Gaf?

To answer the question, had a cookout (BBQ) last week, having another in a few hours. Chicken and grilled onion last week, Burgers and Hot Dogs today.

We always just say "Grilling out", I can't remember the last time there was any true "BBQ" foods though like ribs or bbq chicken. Just burgers, steaks, brats, etc.

I think we're having grilled cheese tonight though, never really grilled out or done anything special on the 4th.

Just check out BBQ gaf topic. Lots of pork butts, ribs, chicken, briskets, and more. The last the I bbq'ed was a turkey. Wasn't quite low enough to be considered a smoke because I was using wood charcoal and it burns a little hotter.

We call it "grilling" down here in the IE. But there are out of towners, mainly LA folks that will call a cookout barbecuing.

I'm making Huli Huli chicken on the egg, burgers and hot dogs today. To me this is "grilling out" I only call it a cookout if I'm inviting lots of people and there's no actual BBQ. But to answer your question I made brisket on memorial day but haven't made BBQ since sadly. I think some baby backs are in store soon....

You're in for a treat. Franklin's was a life affirming experience for me. I also recommend trying the brisket frito pie from Micklethwaits and don't sleep on La Barbecues brisket.

Also, I agree, a BBQ includes BBQ. Most BBQs are cookouts.

It might have been a bad day, but I was supremely disappointed by the dry brisket at Salt Lick. One of the worst I had on my trip. I'd recommend going to Freedmens instead.

Anything involving a grill is called a BBQ here in tbe Seattle area.

Dont think ive ever had actual slow and low BBQ that wasnt from a business, although crock pot pork is common.
